Ridgeway Lodge Care Home

I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and love shown to my mum for the past 18 months. My mum is the happiest and settled I have seen her for a good few years. All the staff are exceptional. They give their best at all times. The activities team, reception, and cleaners are all amazing and should be very proud of the level of care they give. I believe this is a well-managed care home which provides excellent care and an environment we are always welcomed to when visiting.

Every time I visit my father the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The home always feels safe and the residents are well looked after. Any questions I have had are always explained and quickly resolved.

My cousin/aunt has been at Ridgeway for about seven months. She settled in really well with the help of the ever-attentive staff. The care and friendship shown to her have been superb and very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend Ridgeway to others.

My mum, who usually lives in her own home has just spent two weeks 'respite' at Ridgeway Lodge.

She had a really good time there, and we found the staff to be very kind and caring towards the residents.

All of the staff seemed great - the 2 who I had the most dealings with were Claire and Justyna, both of who really took the time and made the effort to make mum's stay very enjoyable.

Mum really enjoyed socialising with the residents and taking part in the daily activities.

The home looks lovely from the outside, appears very modern, clean and tidy, is recently refurbished so nothing looks too old or worn out, is well laid out, and offers a very safe environment for its residents.

The conservatory, lounge and dining rooms are all very nice too, as areas for people to meet in.

The bedrooms are fine, all with an en-suite toilet and sink.

All in all, I can definitely recommend it!

My father has been at Ridgeway Lodge for approx three months. We are really happy with the home, and the staff have been amazing, cannot speak highly enough of them. Would recommend Ridgeway Lodge to anybody.

My mother took residence in August 2016 and stayed until she passed away in December 2021, suffering from advanced Alzheimers. The care staff were considerate and gentle and interactive with my mother in a kindly and chatty manner. My brother and I know our mother was quite content in her new home even though her health and ability to communicate declined over the period of residence. Our dog was always welcome when we visited which was very nice.

I cannot praise the staff here enough. I wish I was filthy rich so I could send them all on a holiday they so deserve. Friendly but professional.

Despite Dad's confusion and understanding of his circumstances and moving to a care home, the staff have been excellent in helping him to settle. They understand his needs and encourage him to take part in activities. It is also good that it's local and I can visit him three times a week. Dad seems very settled now despite his confusion (Alzheimer's)

As a family, we are so happy that we chose Ridgway Lodge for Mum's permanent stay. We have found all the staff so helpful and friendly and nothing has been too much trouble for anyone. Mum feels the same and she has settled in very well. Thank you to everyone.

What fantastic care your team provide my mum and dad. Whenever there are any issues I am contacted which allows me and my family to relax in the knowledge that you are providing the best support to my mum and dad and all of their family.

My husband seems to have been quite happy there. Unfortunately, he can no longer construct sentences or write things down. He has answered the questions above. He would have liked a shower or more whilst he was there. He liked the food but would have liked visitors but understood that this was not available because of illness in the home at the time.

On arrival here, my reception told me all the staff at all levels are very attentive. I've had 16 months here now, very happy. Thank you.

My husband has been a resident at Ridgeway Lodge for over 2 years. He has dementia. Prior to the Covid-19 restrictions, I was able to 'pop in' to Ridgeway to see him and I have always been impressed and pleased with the kindness and care that the staff there give to the residents. The way they speak to the residents and interact with them is lovely. I did have a worry about a situation with my husband's care and my concerns were taken seriously, I felt listened to and the situation was resolved quickly and easily. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, when visiting has been difficult or just not possible, the Ridgeway staff have explored every possible way of keeping in contact with loved ones. I have visited my husband in the garden of the care home, had some 'window visits' and now can visit him in a 'pod'. The safety and care of the residents has been the top priority and I have also felt cared for and understood in this difficult time.

My brother is very happy at the home and is very complimentary about all the staff which is very reassuring as I live a long way from him. The staff senior are always helpful when I call and any matters raised are always dealt with efficiently.

My mum sadly died December 2020, she had been there for a long time and did enjoy walking around taking part in social events. She celebrated her 90th birthday there. The carers that looked after her were fab and I would like to say special thanks to all the staff. I can’t remember all the carers names that looked after Mum but a massive thanks to one particular member of staff for making Mum smile and laugh and spending some time with Mum during her final days. It meant the world. You have such great management with fantastic skills. The carers who came to look after Mum after she passed, thankyou. I could tell how much Mum meant to you, especially for those that had worked there a long time. I will remember the fun and laughter I enjoyed being there at parties, singing and dancing, bazaars and fetes, Alzheimer’s walk.

My mother was well looked after by caring and considerate staff.

They were very caring for our dear late mum. They really loved her. Everybody was so nice and welcoming.

Premises are always clean and well maintained. The rooms are modern and well furnished. The care staff are always friendly and caring towards the residents. The office are professional and efficient. The overall manager of the home is extremely helpful, caring and clearly builds good relationships with residents and their relatives.

She now thinks The Lodge is her home. She still knows me as her husband after all these years. She gets on well with the staff. She had a setback a water infection. She has lost her appetite for food. The staff have been brilliant in understanding her problems. She is improving slowly. Thank you.
