Ridgeway Lodge Care Home offers personalised residential and residential dementia care to older people in a bright and spacious setting.

The home is ideally situated in a residential area in the heart of Dunstable, providing residents with plenty of opportunities to get involved in the local community. What fantastic care your team provide my mum and dad. Whenever there are any issues I am contacted which allows me and my family to relax in the knowledge that you are providing the best support to my mum and dad and all of their family.

My husband seems to have been quite happy there. Unfortunately, he can no longer construct sentences or write things down. He has answered the questions above. He would have liked a shower or more whilst he was there. He liked the food but would have liked visitors but understood that this was not available
because of illness in the home at the time.

My husband has been a resident at Ridgeway Lodge for over 2 years. He has dementia. Prior to the Covid-19 restrictions, I was able to 'pop in' to Ridgeway to see him and I have always been impressed and pleased with the kindness and care that the staff there give to the residents. The way they speak
to the residents and interact with them is lovely. I did have a worry about a situation with my husband's care and my concerns were taken seriously, I felt listened to and the situation was resolved quickly and easily. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, when visiting has been difficult or just not possible, the Ridgeway staff have explored every possible way of keeping in contact with loved ones. I have visited my husband in the garden of the care home, had some 'window visits' and now can visit him in a 'pod'. The safety and care of the residents has been the top priority and I have also felt cared for and understood in this difficult time.

My brother is very happy at the home and is very complimentary about all the staff which is very reassuring as I live a long way from him. The staff senior are always helpful when I call and any matters raised are always dealt with efficiently.

My mum sadly died December 2020, she had been there for a long time and did enjoy walking around taking part in social events. She celebrated her 90th birthday there. The carers that looked after her were fab and I would like to say special thanks to all the staff. I can’t remember all the carers names
that looked after Mum but a massive thanks to one particular member of staff for making Mum smile and laugh and spending some time with Mum during her final days. It meant the world. You have such great management with fantastic skills. The carers who came to look after Mum after she passed, thankyou. I could tell how much Mum meant to you, especially for those that had worked there a long time. I will remember the fun and laughter I enjoyed being there at parties, singing and dancing, bazaars and fetes, Alzheimer’s walk.

Premises are always clean and well maintained. The rooms are modern and well furnished. The care staff are always friendly and caring towards the residents. The office are professional and efficient. My wife went into Ridgeway Lodge in the spring of 2015. Before that, she was in a hospital for assessment of her Dementia.
She was sectioned for her violence towards me and her sister. She used to be a lovely caring person.
She now thinks The Lodge is her home. She still knows me as her husband after
all these years. She gets on well with the staff. She had a setback a water infection. She has lost her appetite for food. The staff have been brilliant in understanding her problems. She is improving slowly. Thank you.

When the care home my mother was living in closed their doors to dementia guests, I was completely devastated. My sister and I had to look for somewhere else and eventually found Ridgeway Lodge. From the moment she stepped in the door, I knew we had made the right decision. The staff welcomed her literally
with open arms and have done so since. The layout works for mum and she has become much more outgoing and stimulated. She loves the entertainment and ‘games’!
I don’t think we would ever have found a better place for her if we had carried on looking.

I came to the home today at 2.40 this morning and I honestly say two of the staff are a credit to HC-One.
They were calm, friendly, chatting to my dad, changed him then came back later to turn him. (Reposition him in bed) I was so happy to see how they worked together.

as when I got there he was aware, chatting away.
Please pass on my gratitude to them both for doing a fantastic job. Thank you all staff and all the team.

My husband is at Ridgeway Lodge for respite at the moment. It has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere whenever you go there.
All the staff are very friendly and caring and always find time to speak to visitors as well as residents.

The staff are all good but there are some exceptional staff I would have liked to have named them to show the appreciation of my mum and all the family. It is an exceptional care home. My stepdad is treated very well with dignity and compassion.

Although Ridgeway Lodge is not the most luxurious home and may not have the best facilities, the most important feature is the staff.


They appear to have a genuine concern for the residents and that is the singular most important feature in any care home.

I do find the manager very good and will listen and put right any of your concerns. I find the carers and team leaders work hard and do a good job looking after residents. I did have a few issues which have been resolved. Well done Ridgeway Lodge.

Michele Tricker

Job Title: Home Manager

Michele is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents. She closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident.


Michele extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Michele remarked: “Seeing our Residents have a good quality of life is really important to me”.


Michele has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievement being her four children who all work in the care sector as nurses or paramedics.


Outside of work, Michele enjoys looking after her four cats and relaxing with a cup of coffee and a book.
