My mother came to Cleeve Lodge after quite a challenging period for her. The kindness and attention shown to her by all the staff has been exceptional. As a result, she has settled very quickly and is very happy there. The home provides a thoughful range of activities and we also appreciate the flexibility that the home has shown to faciltate my mother continuing to participate, where possible, in activities she was involved with previously in the local community. It is worth highlighting the positivity and cheerfulness of the staff and how welcoming the home is to visitors, who can pop in freely, which means that Cleeve Lodge really does feel like a home rather than an institution. We are extremely grateful to the management and staff for all their efforts.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are truly delighted to hear how well your mother has settled at Cleeve Lodge, especially after a challenging period.
Our team take great pride in offering kindness, reassurance and personalised care to every resident, so knowing that this has made...
My mother has been at Cleeve Lodge for a couple of months now. I knew straight away that this was the right care home for mum, as it felt much more personal with a true family vibe. I was impressed by the planned daily activities, varied menu and other services offered which were all included in the cost (no hidden charges or surprises). The team at Cleeve Lodge have and continue to work closely with mum and myself to support her with her transition. The care the team provide mum is brilliant and they have had to think outside the box a little to meet some rather complex needs, they have been professional and caring through the whole process. Cleeve Lodge truly lives up to its outstanding rating and I would certainly. A big thank you to the Cleeve Lodge family :)

Mum's health and wellbeing has improved since she moved to Cleeve. She is much more active physically, and chattier and animated - she enjoys all the activities provided every day.
Her room is lovely, and the care she receives is excellent. Visitors are always warmly welcomed, and we're kept well informed . It's such a relief for all of us to know mum is safe, and receiving reliable quality care. Thank you

My husband moved to cleeve lodge 2 months ago and both he and my family have received nothing but kindness and care. Without exception the whole staff are welcoming and respectful of our needs at what is for us a sad and traumatic time. Cleeve lodge is a family orientated house full of activity, love and concern for everyone. I know that we made the right choice when selecting a care home.
Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. It means the world to all of us at Cleeve Lodge to know that we've been able to support you and your husband during such a difficult and emotional time. We understand how hard it can be to make the decision to move into care, and we're truly...
My Dad went into Cleeve in February after a long stay in hospital. I cannot thank the staff enough for making this transition so easy. I live abroad and it is so reassuring to know that he is safe, happy and in such good hands. All of the staff are wonderful and treat the residents with respect and compassion. They are patient, kind and always smiling. My Dad is happy there which means we as a family are too. I was so pleased to see that they were awarded Outstanding by the CQC. It is thoroughly deserved!
Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. It means the world to us to hear how well your dad has settled in and how reassured you feel, especially being so far away. Supporting families through these transitions is such an important part of what we do, and we're truly grateful for your...
She had a lovely little room that had been freshly decorated, where she put up her personal possessions, making it a home.
The care that was shown to Mum was incredible, it wasn't just care, the staff enjoy what they do and that can be seen on all there smiling faces.
Ours and Mum's friends visits we were made to feel so welcome, with cups of tea, lunch and special cake.
Unfortunately, Mum had a fall early March and after coming back from hospital she was requiring a lot more care, which again was carried out with a smile.
Mum finally passed on 20th of May 2025, but again, the Care, Dignity, Compassion and Time that was given to us was fantastic.
I'd just like to say a massive thank you to the manager and the staff.
It's no wonder that this care home has just been awarded a Outstanding Certificate
Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. It was truly a pleasure and a privilege to care for your mother during her time with us.We understand how much of an adjustment it can be to move into a care home, especially for someone as independent as your mum, and we're so pleased to hear...
From the first moment of entering Cleeve Lodge we were aware of a warm and caring atmosphere. The property itself is very clean and attractively decorated. More than that, the staff are all absolutely amazing. Kind and attentive to the people in their care, and they always make visitors feel very welcome.
Thank you for your kind words. It's a pleasure to look after mum.
Her room is lovely, bright and sunny - and this is matched by the amazing carers - they're all bright and sunny too!
The place has a wonderful atmosphere and we feel so assured that she is being well cared for. Nothing is ever too much trouble and we are always made to feel so welcome at any time of the day that we visit. We love the open-door policy.
Mum recently had visitors from overseas and the team made such an effort - a little tea party in the conservatory.
We were all very anxious about this move for Mum and we needn't have worried, it's home from home.
We are overjoyed by your mother's progress and deeply appreciate your kindness and support. I will make sure to share this heartwarming review with the team. Warm Wishes.
Mum absolutely loved it there, great food and facilities.
All the staff are amazing, caring, and just so lovely.
Mum passed away last week but we have lovely memories of her time at Cleeve Lodge.
We couldn't have asked for more.
Thank you for taking the time to share such kind words. Your heartfelt sentiments mean a great deal to the team. Your mother was truly a remarkable resident, and her warmth and bright spirit brought so much joy to the home. Her presence will be deeply missed, but she will always be cherished in our memories. Kind regards.
Having looked at some other places for my father this place really stood out. I’d have no hesitation in recommending Cleeve Lodge and their fabulous team.
Thank you for your kind words. The Cleeve Lodge team
My mum moved into Cleeve Lodge in January of this year as she was falling at home and unsafe to live on her own anymore. Initially, it was for "respite care" but we came to quickly realize she would need to stay there indefinitely. It has been a hard few months and hard decisions to be made but the staff at Cleeve Lodge have made it so much easier for me (as an only child with two small children and one more imminent!). Mum is well looked after, the staff are caring, fun, and compassionate including management, domestic staff, and the chef. I feel Mum is safe and I can relax more knowing she's being well looked after. Mum seems settled and is eating so well! (The food is lovely). I feel so lucky that Cleeve Lodge had a room available whilst Mum was in hospital as couldn't imagine her anywhere else now. Thank you for looking after her and my children and I!
Thank you for the valuable feedback. It is our pleasure and honour to care for your Mum, and your kind words will inspire our team to continue providing the excellent care they strive for. It was great to see you and your family enjoying yourselves on Sunday at our East Fun Day. Warm Wishes.
Mum died at the home last Saturday, and the staff could not have been more caring to both her, and me. When my father died ten years ago I was full of regrets at how things were handled by the two hospitals concerned, and that I could do nothing to comfort him in his last hours. With mum, I was there to the end, and all was peaceful and quiet. No regrets this time.
On behalf of the team at Cleeve Lodge, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your kind words. It was an honour to care for your mother and to learn about her bravery during the Second World War. Please know that her spirit and courage will always be an inspiration to us. We are always here...
From the moment we first went into Cleeve Lodge Care Home we knew it was the right place for Dad. Fun, friendly, warm and lively with plenty to do and people around him so he didn't feel lonely anymore. A home from home. Thank you!
The management is clearly excellent. The rooms are pleasant and the atmosphere is homely and warm.
There are arranged events frequently and they are very good. Cleeve Lodge deserves its reputation as one of the safest and best organised around.
Lovely caring staff who always have a smile on their face. Mum has made so much progress in the last three months thanks to the support of the staff. I think it would be hard to find anywhere else more perfect for her. Thank you.
The “can do” caring attitude of the staff and their avowed goal of providing a fulfilling life for their residents stood out when we were selecting a care home and this had been proven immediately.
Mum and our family then had a very pleasant almost two years with her as a resident at Cleeve Lodge and we felt like we were all friends. Obviously, Covid gave problems with visiting and activities but we felt the management had exactly the right approach, safe and yet recognising the resident's and families' needs. We had complete confidence in the management and loved the “team” spirit – even the owner could be found cleaning when needed!
Mum passed away in Jan 2023 at 91 It makes us rest easy to know that she died being loved and cared for here.
My mother was in another care home, she fell and broke her hip and they wouldn't have her back because she was less mobile. I wish I had discovered Cleeve Lodge Care Home first! It is a very friendly home with lovely residents and first-class staff. The staff are very friendly, kind, caring and attentive. You can see that there is a fondness and bond between them and their residents. The food is excellent and comparable with a good-class restaurant! If I needed it I would book myself in tomorrow. 10 out of 10!

Emma O’Connor brings almost 40 years of experience in adult social care to her role as Registered Manager of Cleeve Lodge.
Emma believes that excellent care begins with knowing the person. She takes time to learn about each resident’s life, personality, routines, interests, likes and dislikes, as well as the family members and friends who remain important to them.
Her approach is deeply personal and hands-on. Emma is highly visible throughout the home, knows residents and families personally and works closely with the team to ensure that care remains compassionate, respectful and responsive as residents’ needs change.
Emma also personally handles enquiries and tours for prospective residents and their families. She understands how difficult the decision to seek residential care can be and aims to make the process as open, supportive and reassuring as possible.
In May 2026, Emma won the Leadership Award at the Oxfordshire Care Awards, organised by the Oxfordshire Association of Care Providers. The award recognised her leadership and contribution to adult social care.
