Cleeve Lodge is an extended Victorian house, offering two floors of accommodation for elderly residents in need of 24-hour care.

The home is situated in the picturesque and tranquil village of Goring on Thames, complete with stunning views of the Streatley Hills.

There is easy access to and from the M4 and good transport and rail links to surrounding towns. Local amenities are a short walk from the home and include shops, cafes, pubs, a library and doctor’s surgery.

The aim is to care for residents in a safe, happy, relaxed and homely environment. Cleeve Lodge provides holistic and individualised care for 22 residents over the age of 65. The home also accepts people for respite care when beds become available.

Cleeve Lodge is a close-knit team focused on providing individual care for residents. Moreover, staff treat residents with dignity, respect and recognise both individual needs and a right to privacy, choice and fulfilment. Staff aim to give relatives and friends peace of mind knowing that loved ones are safe and cared for.

The home's own cook prepares home-cooked and tasty meals on a daily basis. There is a varied menu on offer with recipes designed to meet all dietary requirements. The home takes pride in sourcing fresh produce from local suppliers.

Cleeve Lodge encourages social interaction and tries to provide residents with a varied entertainment programme. A typical week of activities includes music, exercise, crosswords, group discussions, reminiscence and a visiting poet. Elsewhere two popular entertainers regularly frequent the home, providing welcomed familiarity. The home also has a monthly visit from therapy dogs.

Mum moved into Cleeve Lodge Care Home in October 2021. Her care and my experience have truly exceeded expectations.
Kind, caring, transparent, homely and dignified while person-centred. I am so glad that I "happened upon" Cleeve Lodge. I had visited six other care homes on my quest to match Mum with
the right care home. Cleeve Lodge is in a league of its own. Thank you.

From my initial phone call to the day my mother went into Cleeve Lodge Care Home, I have been so impressed with the level of care, patience and empathy.
The move went smoothly and nothing is too much trouble. They have gone out of their way to make Mum's life happy as well as supporting me.

My mother came to live at Cleeve Lodge Ltd Care Home in April 2021 after her husband died. I could not fault the care received from this care home. The owner is very hands-on in this small, personal home and all the staff have been friendly and caring. No corporate show or advertising, just good care
for the residents in a very difficult period of Covid.

We are so lucky that our mum lives in Cleeve Lodge. The staff are amazing and always ready to go the extra mile. The atmosphere is always a happy one and there are lots of activities to stimulate and interest the residents. Food is home made and not repetitive. Facilities are excellent with a well kept
garden, enough external seating for all and a separate hair and nail salon. During the Covid crisis the staff have been amazing and a secure Covid visiting suite was put in place. As relatives, we are always consulted and informed of any changes/developments. We couldn't have found a better place for our mum.

I moved my husband from another home and the difference is remarkable. Great care is taken to meet his physical and emotional needs. Carers talk to him as an individual and have time for him. They are kind and considerate. The food is first class and the cook even came and talked to him to find out
his likes and dislikes. He is able to sit in the garden weather permitting, which is life-enhancing for him. Excellent physiotherapy is offered weekly. Communication with me via email update and personally is helpful and reassuring.

Every effort possible was made to make my mother feel welcome. Extra staff were made available to spend time with her on arrival to help her settle in. The staff were all respectful and caring. It was not possible to assess the usual activities as restrictions were in place due to the pandemic.

My mother is happy and contented at Cleeve Lodge. The staff and management seem caring and attentive. There is good continuity of personnel and I am made welcome when visiting. They have worked hard to ensure Covid safe visits over recent months. I would recommend this home.

My mother has dementia and has been in Cleeve Lodge for 2 years and 2 months. In that time I have been impressed with the way the home is managed. The carers are brilliant with the clients and very supportive of the families visiting. I am a nurse myself and so grateful that my mother has a home here.
The atmosphere is homely and feels like a home from home which is important for the residents and those visiting. I live in Cornwall so visiting is rare but when I ring I am always reassured by the staff caring for mum and know if there is a deterioration I will always be informed.

Covid-19 has made everything more difficult for care homes. Cleeve Lodge has been very careful and has had no serious cases. It means, however, that I cannot enter the home so cannot complete two of your boxes (I have used “satisfactory” for "don't know"). I am very pleased that the home has been so
careful, but it has made it harder for my friend to settle in.
The staff have been trying their best to make his life rewarding. I was particularly impressed with their buying a new outdoor table-tennis table for his benefit. I played with him on one of my visits and a carer plays regularly with him. This is very good for him both mentally and physically.
Visits have had to be severely limited, but the home has allowed my friend more because they are so important to him.
I am very pleased with the way my friend is being cared for. My only reservations concern staff not having mastered the controller for his hearing aid (not easy) and not having yet enabled him to use a telephone.

My Dad has been at Cleeve Lodge for 3 years now. He is not the most social person with activities but that is his choice. However, he has partaken in some. The staff think a lot of him. He seems happy there. He is well supported. The owner and staff are amazing, friendly, supportive to relatives.

Mum joined the 'Cleeve Lodge family' in May 2019. It had become clear, despite multiple daily care visits, she could no longer live alone. Mum settled quickly, she loves her room and describes all the staff as ' wonderful' - I would equally agree.
I live not far away and have continued to visit or
take Mum our most days until a few weeks ago when Mum's health significantly deteriorated.
Mum has received amazing care at Cleeve Lodge always. She feels loved and had opportunities I could not provide - seaside, bowling etc. They go the extra mile and beyond. Mum feels at 'home', and I feel at home visiting her. The residents are lovely too!

I could not be happier with the care my mum receives from every member of staff at this care home. There's a lovely family atmosphere and visitors are always welcome, especially if you bring a baby or a puppy with you! Great home cooked food and lots of varied activities that mum would never have enjoyed
if she was still living on her own. They make full use of the spacious garden and encourage all the residents to spend time in it. I would not hesitate to recommend this special home.

My mother has Alzheimer's disease and was fortunate enough to move into Cleeve Lodge after my father died in February 2017. The staff at Cleeve Lodge made her so lovingly welcome at a very confusing time for her. The staff without exception got to know Mum, her likes/dislikes and interests. Consequently
she settled quickly and happily and is more relaxed and happy than she has been for years. There is lots of entertainment provided in the house and when the weather is good, many outings, coffee mornings, keep fit etc. The food is amazing which is so important to the elderly. We feel so fortunate and blessed to have mum so well cared for.

Cleeve Lodge staff have gone above and beyond to ensure that my Nana is happy and healthy.
The care shown to the residents is apparent throughout the home and in all interactions.
