Funding & Fees
Weekly Charges per Person
Cleeve Lodge offers a distinctive, fully all-inclusive private-fee model, giving residents and families greater clarity and reassurance about the cost of care.
Services that are often presented as chargeable extras elsewhere—including physiotherapy, hairdressing, podiatry and everyday sundries—are included within the Cleeve Lodge private weekly fee. This unusual approach helps families plan with confidence and avoids the worry of frequently accumulating additional charges.
Fees vary according to the resident’s assessed care needs and bedroom choice. Every family receives a clear, personalised quotation before care begins. Cleeve Lodge accepts private funding and may also accept local-authority funding, with or without a top-up, subject to an individual assessment and confirmation of the agreed funding arrangements.
The price(s) shown are provided by the care home. Contact Cleeve Lodge Residential Care Home for the Elderly for full pricing details and T&Cs.

We have always been impressed with the kindness, empathy, patience and understanding displayed in looking after them. We were particularly impressed with how whenever we visited (often unannounced) the residents were occupied in one form or another. Considerable efforts were made to involve the residents in everything from games, singing, visits by animals, external outings, etc.
We also noticed the quality and variety of the food, and the efforts made to cater for different tastes.
The effort made to respect and treat residents as individuals were apparent more than in any other similar establishment.
We have visited many care homes over the years and Cleeve Lodge is the best.
Sadly, they both passed away in 2022 but I take great comfort that they received the very best care from the best care home in the county.
Cleeve Lodge cares not only for its residents but also the family unit as a whole and you can't help but become part of the "Cleeve Lodge Family".
I can't thank them enough for the high level of care they provided for Mum and Dad as well as countless refreshments to give me the strength to get me through the hardest of times.
I have made many friends for life and it will be a place I will be glad to return to even just to help out with a tricky jigsaw puzzle!
This is the care home I would like to be living in if I was unable to look after myself. The staff go above and beyond expectations, offering support of the highest standards to residents and their families. Nothing is too much trouble and they communicate with the residents' families as needed and on a regular basis. The home itself is in an excellent location with wonderful views of a well-kept garden and the surrounding countryside. The food is also second to none.
The home has a high standard of care with friendly, caring staff. My aunt hasn't looked so well for years!
The move went smoothly and nothing is too much trouble. They have gone out of their way to make Mum's life happy as well as supporting me.
My mother came to live at Cleeve Lodge Ltd Care Home in April 2021 after her husband died. I could not fault the care received from this care home. The owner is very hands-on in this small, personal home and all the staff have been friendly and caring. No corporate show or advertising, just good care for the residents in a very difficult period of Covid.
The staff at Cleeve Lodge are so caring and the whole home is exceptionally well run. The families of residents are kept informed and consulted at every opportunity, particularly in these difficult times. We could not wish for a better, safer, kinder place for our mum to live.
We are so lucky that our mum lives in Cleeve Lodge. The staff are amazing and always ready to go the extra mile. The atmosphere is always a happy one and there are lots of activities to stimulate and interest the residents. Food is home made and not repetitive. Facilities are excellent with a well kept garden, enough external seating for all and a separate hair and nail salon. During the Covid crisis the staff have been amazing and a secure Covid visiting suite was put in place. As relatives, we are always consulted and informed of any changes/developments. We couldn't have found a better place for our mum.
I moved my husband from another home and the difference is remarkable. Great care is taken to meet his physical and emotional needs. Carers talk to him as an individual and have time for him. They are kind and considerate. The food is first class and the cook even came and talked to him to find out his likes and dislikes. He is able to sit in the garden weather permitting, which is life-enhancing for him. Excellent physiotherapy is offered weekly. Communication with me via email update and personally is helpful and reassuring.
Every effort possible was made to make my mother feel welcome. Extra staff were made available to spend time with her on arrival to help her settle in. The staff were all respectful and caring. It was not possible to assess the usual activities as restrictions were in place due to the pandemic.
My mother is happy and contented at Cleeve Lodge. The staff and management seem caring and attentive. There is good continuity of personnel and I am made welcome when visiting. They have worked hard to ensure Covid safe visits over recent months. I would recommend this home.
There is no better care home in the county. I count myself as blessed to have had this care home to look after my wife.
I only need one word: Excellent.
My mother has dementia and has been in Cleeve Lodge for 2 years and 2 months. In that time I have been impressed with the way the home is managed. The carers are brilliant with the clients and very supportive of the families visiting. I am a nurse myself and so grateful that my mother has a home here. The atmosphere is homely and feels like a home from home which is important for the residents and those visiting. I live in Cornwall so visiting is rare but when I ring I am always reassured by the staff caring for mum and know if there is a deterioration I will always be informed.
The staff have been trying their best to make his life rewarding. I was particularly impressed with their buying a new outdoor table-tennis table for his benefit. I played with him on one of my visits and a carer plays regularly with him. This is very good for him both mentally and physically.
Visits have had to be severely limited, but the home has allowed my friend more because they are so important to him.
I am very pleased with the way my friend is being cared for. My only reservations concern staff not having mastered the controller for his hearing aid (not easy) and not having yet enabled him to use a telephone.
Highly recommend this wonderful home.
I live not far away and have continued to visit or take Mum our most days until a few weeks ago when Mum's health significantly deteriorated.
Mum has received amazing care at Cleeve Lodge always. She feels loved and had opportunities I could not provide - seaside, bowling etc. They go the extra mile and beyond. Mum feels at 'home', and I feel at home visiting her. The residents are lovely too!
We are extremely pleased with the care my father-in-law is receiving at Cleeve Lodge. He seems very happy and relaxed. The staff treat him with respect and dignity and always have a great sense of humour!
I could not be happier with the care my mum receives from every member of staff at this care home. There's a lovely family atmosphere and visitors are always welcome, especially if you bring a baby or a puppy with you! Great home cooked food and lots of varied activities that mum would never have enjoyed if she was still living on her own. They make full use of the spacious garden and encourage all the residents to spend time in it. I would not hesitate to recommend this special home.
The best of several homes I have used. Cheerful atmosphere and great staff.

Meet the Team (1)

Emma O’Connor brings almost 40 years of experience in adult social care to her role as Registered Manager of Cleeve Lodge.
Emma believes that excellent care begins with knowing the person. She takes time to learn about each resident’s life, personality, routines, interests, likes and dislikes, as well as the family members and friends who remain important to them.
Her approach is deeply personal and hands-on. Emma is highly visible throughout the home, knows residents and families personally and works closely with the team to ensure that care remains compassionate, respectful and responsive as residents’ needs change.
Emma also personally handles enquiries and tours for prospective residents and their families. She understands how difficult the decision to seek residential care can be and aims to make the process as open, supportive and reassuring as possible.
In May 2026, Emma won the Leadership Award at the Oxfordshire Care Awards, organised by the Oxfordshire Association of Care Providers. The award recognised her leadership and contribution to adult social care.
