Services that are often presented as chargeable extras elsewhere—including physiotherapy, hairdressing, podiatry and everyday sundries—are included within the Cleeve Lodge private weekly fee. This unusual approach helps families plan with confidence and avoids the worry of frequently accumulating additional charges.

Fees vary according to the resident’s assessed care needs and bedroom choice. Every family receives a clear, personalised quotation before care begins. Cleeve Lodge accepts private funding and may also accept local-authority funding, with or without a top-up, subject to an individual assessment and confirmation of the agreed funding arrangements.

My aunt has been at Cleeve Lodge for over 3 years. She is happy and healthy, and is very well cared for by a lovely team led by the wonderful manager. We are always welcomed warmly and given a hot drink and tasty cake. They also take an interest in the whole family. As we live up to 5 hours drive away, we are kept up to date with emails and photos. We also know that we will be notified, and a doctor called, if she has any health concerns. It is very reassuring to know that she is being looked after 24/7. The worry has been taken away from us. There are interesting activities, events and outings organised, which my aunt is encouraged to participate in, with help from the carers and volunteers, when she feels like it, but there is no pressure to take part. The whole team encourage her to chat, which she really enjoys. She also loves her food and eats well. Her personal care has increased naturally,as her dementia has progressed, but it is carried out with great care and respect.

My Husband moved into Cleeve Lodge in April 2026 for respite to begin with and now permanently.

This care home is really wonderful, always clean and tidy , happy residents and staff. I am greeted in a warm and welcoming manner when I visit and nothing is too much trouble. My husband has now settled in really well and says he can't fault anything. The staff are the back bone of this home , they are obviously very well trained and love their job led by their wonderful manager who is very involved in the care of the residents. The care is superb.

Dad has just returned from a two-week respite stay at Cleeve Lodge, and I can honestly say the care he received was exceptional. During his stay, I saw him laugh and enjoy himself in a way I hadn't witnessed for quite some time, which meant so much to our family.
The staff were welcoming, friendly, and consistently cheerful and attentive. It was clear that they genuinely cared about the residents and took the time to get to know them as individuals.
The activities on offer were thoughtfully planned, engaging, and tailored to residents' interests, helping to create a lively and positive environment. Above all, there is a real sense of warmth and family at Cleeve Lodge.

Our respite experience has been overwhelmingly positive, giving us complete confidence that Cleeve Lodge is the right place for Dad to receive permanent care in the future

I started volunteering at Cleeve Lodge a couple of months ago as I lost my mum to dementia. I used to visit her every week and although she didn't remember most things, her face always lit up when I arrived. So I wanted to give some time to other people in a similar situation.
Cleeve Lodge is an amazing care home, the residents who I have started to get to know all have their individual personalities and sparkle, I love visiting and speaking with them.

The staff, absolutely outstanding! The team are so friendly and always so engaging with the residents, it really feels like a loving family. The team are so wonderful in making sure the residents are happy and comfortable, doing their best for these wonderful people in this challenging part of their life.

My mother has lived at Cleeve Lodge for a year now. She does not want to be in a home, but has said herself, from the start, "If you must be in a home, it doesn't get better than this." Her physical condition is much better than it was before she moved. The atmosphere is relaxed and homely. The staff are delightful, I don't know how they remain so calm and cheerful. I visit 5 times a week and no matter at what strange hour I turn up, I always feel welcome. The manager, Emma, is accessible and always walks around each afterrnoon to talk to residents and staff. She is "hands on" and knows exactly what is going on. Her staff obviously trust her.

It was a difficult decision to choose a home for my mother, but I think that this was the right choice for her: More like a home than a hotel.

After visiting Cleve Lodge recently with a friend who has a relative residing here, my first impression was how welcoming and friendly the staff were, how dedicated they are to the clients.
There is always something going on for the clients, no-one is left out, clients are always dressed well! It is certainly a home from home! Although there is nothing like your own home the clients here are certainly well catered for in every respect!

The room I visited had a few of the clients personal bits they have brought from there old homes a nice touch!

I visited my Mum and Dad on Burns Day at the home. It was coming up to Lunchtime and a Piper arrived to pipe the hagis in for dinner.
My mum originated from Scotland and her father was with the Black Watch which is the Kilt that the piper had on.

So was quite emotional for me to see but was a wonderful hour for me visiting and the residents to experience. My parents have been in the home nearly 3 years and I love the fact that the home celebrates every event/holiday within a year.

My Aunt stays here - Cleeve Lodge is a truly wonderful place. From the moment you walk through the door, you can feel the warmth, kindness, and genuine care that runs throughout the home.

The staff are exceptional - caring, attentive, and always welcoming to residents and visitors alike. Nothing ever feels rushed, and everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. The family atmosphere they have created is incredibly special and makes the home feel just that - like a home.

The activities are thoughtful, meaningful, and tailored to residents, with lovely opportunities for engagement, socialising, and enjoyment. Family and friends are always made to feel included, whether it's sharing a meal, celebrating a special occasion, or simply spending time together.

Mum has been at Cleeve Lodge for over 4 years. Mum has dementia and at times exhibits behaviour that others find challenging.
I cannot find words that fully describe the excellence of the care that Mum receives.
Kind.
Compassionate.
Person centred.
Flexible.
Supportive to me personally.
I find the staff friendly and I am always greeted with genuine warmth (& a lovely cuppa with homemade cake if I arrive around 3!)
Mum's dementia journey hasn't been straight forward. Mum's stay has been peppered with a few fractures with long periods in plaster. Staff at Cleeve Lodge were so supportive in getting Mum out of hospital quickly so as to reduce Mum's confusion and trauma.
Communication with me is open, clear and kind.
Mum loves her food. Food is homemade and staff are flexible- if Mum wants another breakfast, that is fine.
There are plenty of social events and activities. The local community and families are encouraged to participate.

Overall- outstanding.

Cleeve Lodge is an example of how all care homes should be. When my mother arrived there, she was quite ill and also suffering from an element of depression. Her improvement over the months has been dramatic. Whilst some of this can be accounted for by medication, a large part is clearly the way she is treated at the Lodge. From my observations, and I have been there for many hours, the staff are attentive, considerate and patient. I have seen no signs of frustration in the staff, only kindness. This is very impressive. Beyond this, residents are encouraged to take part in a variety of activities, and my mother has been happily getting involved in things should would never have tried by herself at home. She is also encouraged to attend external events in the village, safely accompanied by a staff member or family/friend. Visitors are made very welcome at any time and I feel 'at home' there. From personal experience, I can say that lunch (the main meal of the day) is particularly good.

Mum has been in cleeve lodge since the beginning of the year, and I can't fault her care there, the staff are kind and compassionate and all do an amazing job. It is quite difficult to put into words just how wonderful this place is and how outstanding the care from the staff is.
My MIL has dementia and sadly lost her husband in March and her quality of life seemed to turn to more quantity of life before we loved her to Cleeve Lodge.
Now she enjoys the things that she always did as much as she can from all of the activities provided and trips to the village, life is a new normal for her.
She has regained her dignity and the care from staff seems as though they treat each resident as their own family member. We don't live too close but knew it was the right place for her and although we cant visit as often as we would like to, the staff keep us so involved that we also feel as loved as her.

The staff are seriously wonderful and genuinely want to be doing the job that they are doing. It seems it is a privilege to them to aid my MIL and the residents to live out their golden years and dignified and as enriched as they deserve to and should!

I started to volunteer at Cleeve Lodge in the summer with the intention of helping with some gardening activities which would be limited to the Spring Summer months. This was well received but gardening activities reduce in the autumn. However the experience has been so joyful and appreciated that I am continuing some craft sessions to add to the all ready varied activity calendar on offer to the residents. I have a core group of attendees and others who come some weeks not others. The staff are very welcoming to me and enthusiastic when supporting the residents to participate. They encourage each person to take part supporting them to be as independent as possible and helping where needed. They are infinitely kind and respectful to everyone and skilled when addressing any concerns the residents have.

The atmosphere of the home is warm and welcoming, residents are relaxed and staff are ever present making sure everyone is listened to and taken care of.

We have been very lucky to find this amazing care home for my Aunt. We have experience of other care homes and I can honestly say that Cleeve Lodge is head and shoulders above any other care home we have known. The staff have always been excellent and made every effort to accommodate my Aunt's needs, going above and beyond the normal. All the staff make this a special place. There are plenty of meaningful activities, not just the usual time killers but really sensible things that the residence enjoy.
I cannot praise Cleeve Lodge highly enough and we really appreciate how much they have helped my Aunt to be comfortable and happy.
