Since moving to Applegarth, my aunt has been much happier.
Thank you for taking the time to review us at Applegarth Care Home, I am pleased to hear that your Aunt is happy here with us.
It was like one big homely family, a place I would choose if I have enough money, as I visit every fortnight with 3 other friends. But I don't know much it would cost to be a resident, bearing in mind I'm 88 with arthritis in both knees and ankles.
Thank you for reviewing us here at Applegarth. I am glad you feel like we are one big family that is important to us, when you visit next please feel free to come and have a chat our door is always open if you need us and I can go through all your questions.
My sister has now been cared for at Applegarth for more than a year. Although I am unable to visit on a regular basis I am convinced, both by her responses to my questions and the support shown by staff, not only during my visits but by their keeping in touch at other crucial times, that she is recieving the best possible care. Thank you is inadequate but they are the only words to express my gratitud.
Thank you for taking the time to review Applegarth, I am pleased to read such positive words. We will continue to care and we are always here for you both.
The care provided for my mother has always been second to none in the 6 years she has been a resident and with this has been a peace of mind that she is happy and being looked after, what more could one ask for.

We visited with the carers and residents of Applegarth care home and joined in with with a lovely quiz all about British King's and Queens. It's a lovely way of entertaining everyone and super fun all around, regards.

I have peace of mind that she's no longer on her own or worrying she's wandering outside her home, she is being well cared for and my heartfelt thanks goes to all those lovely carers, they do a wonderful job.
Kind regards.
I can only praise the care home for the way all the members of staff cared for my husband while he was their patient. I can recommend the home without reservation and will always be grateful.

The staff at Applegarth are very good with residents. They do activities with them and temperature checks are done throughout the day. Mum always looks clean and tidy. Their meals look very nice with a nice choice on the menu board and always offering drinks and their time and the care staff are very friendly with us when we visit.

My father has just spent his first month at the care home and we have been delighted with the quality of care provided. The staff are all friendly, approachable, caring, and patient. We have complete confidence that my father's well-being will always be put first by the caring team at Applegarth. His room is always clean and tidy and my father enjoys every meal served. Thank you Applegarth Care Team
Thank you very much for the comment, we are passionate and committed to providing the highest level of care, I will share your comment with my team which is a great motivation for them to continue with the good work.
My friend recently moved to Applegarth following rapid mental deterioration. Although not a 'super smart' place, the home appears very homely and the staff are very friendly and caring. My friend has settled in very quickly and says 'she couldn't be in a better place and the staff 'can't do enough' for her'. Whenever I've phoned the manager and staff are very helpful. In person, they are welcoming and caring. I cannot answer all the ratings as have not seen or experienced them.
Over the last 12 months Mum's health, both mental and physical, has posed challenges and I am grateful to the staff for their professional abilities to deal with all that life has had to offer. Their kindness and patience have been exemplary. During the lockdown period, the small physical size of Applegarth has meant that space is at a premium, but again, the staff have worked hard to keep activities and entertainment going. The better weather coming will be a bonus to everyone. The plus side to the size of the home being that the atmosphere is more homely than a Care Home. Keep up your exceptional work, Applegarth.
Hi Phillip, thank you very much for your lovely review. We are also looking forward to the warmer weather where we can all enjoy meeting up in the fresh air.
My mother is in Applegarth Care Home as she did not wish to live alone after the death of her husband especially as she has dementia. The staff at the care home are very friendly and there are plenty for the number of residents. The staff know the resident's family and encourage them to stay in contact. The staff arrange plenty of activities for the residents to take part in if they wish to keep them active in mind and body, as well as keeping them supplied with drinks and cakes between meals. The staff have asked about family members whose photos are in her room and they encourage her to talk about them. My mother thinks she is in a guest house or hotel as it is very homely. My mother celebrated a big birthday in January 2021 and although the family could not be there because of lockdown the care home made it a special day and took photos to send to the family on the day. My mother is very happy there and we the family know that she is safe and extremely well cared for.
Hi Angela, we really appreciate the time you took to write such a detailed review! Thank you so much.
I have always had peace of mind that my Mother's needs are met, both physical and emotional, she is always happy when I visit her. I saw a massive weight drop from her shoulders since she moved in Dec 2016. She had no more worries and stresses and started enjoying life again. I can honestly say that she has a better quality of life since living at Applegarth, rather than living alone for some years. The staff are amazing and I have nothing but praise for them, particularly this last year. As an NHS worker, I fully appreciate the hard efforts they have made to keep the residents and themselves safe and well in extremely difficult circumstances. I am always singing Applegarth's praises both personally and professionally and will continue to do so.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this wonderful review. It is really appreciated by all the staff here at Applegarth.
