My father has been a resident in Langley Haven Care Home for a year now. Right from the start we as a family were so impressed with the wonderful support and care he was and has continued to enjoy. The family atmosphere is so welcoming and the staff are absolutely amazing, so sunny, happy and caring.
They retain the dignity of their residents at all times and the activities my father has joined in with and been part of are fantastic. Also the entertainment he has enjoyed are top quality. Such a relief to know your loved one is in such fabulous hands and home from home environment. 10/10.

I have been visiting and seen the staff and management deal with some very difficult situations with compassion. If I'm there during meal times they have offered me dinner and has been tasty. I've been invited to many activities and seen the residents enjoy and take part, giving them so much pleasure.

My father us in Langley Haven Care Home. I am really happy he's there, it's a lovely home. The staff are great really welcoming and my mum is able to discuss anything she might have concern about which isn't very much. Also when I am unable to go to see my dad I have only to go on facebook and there
he is doing activities and singing really happily. He's a different man since being there, I am pleased for my mum as she doesn't have to worry about him and she can get on with her life because of the care dad gets.

My first visit to Langley Haven last year was quite an eye opener, I wasn't met by the smell of urine, amazing! The staff are all very welcoming and professional and indeed helpful. The service users have plenty of activities to occupy them, outings and good food at regular times. If I had to choose
a home for me, it would be Langley Haven.

Review from Shirley O (Husband of Resident) published on 11 November 2015 Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My husband has been to various care homes for respite, the care in these other homes was none existent, one didn't wash or change my husbands clothes for ten days! "yes unbelievable" another home had carers and residents smoking out the front of the building. I put my husband into Langley Haven for
respite he loved the place, so when I couldn't cope anymore the only place I wanted my husband to be cared for properly was Langley Haven. The home is brilliant he is so happy, the staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble and I love going to visit my husband which is nearly every day.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.427)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.427) out of 10 for Langley Haven Dementia Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.727 for Langley Haven Dementia Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (57 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 77 Ratings = 4.727
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Langley Haven Dementia Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
