Today, my friend and I were served a tasty two course meal in the conservatory. We could chat, enjoy our meal and reminisce. Later, we sat in the garden enjoying a cuppa a member of staff brought out to us. So good to see my lovely friend cared for in beautiful surroundings.
Thank you for a really lovely review. I'm so pleased you felt welcomed and enjoyed the lunch. It's also really heart-warming to hear your comments about the care and environment. I hope you will visit again soon for another meal here.
The home has regular and varied activities throughout the week and in line with the seasons, for example they are wreath making next week. The day trips are also exciting, with a canal trip in the summer a highlight for my mother.
The home is very welcoming to all the family and friends who visit with a separate garden room for family privacy if required. I would highly recommend this home to anyone and feel lucky we found it.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We're so happy that your mum is part of the Culwood family and that she's happy living here. We're also really pleased that you all feel so welcomed when you visit.
I was made to feel welcome, as I always have done, and staff assisted me to sit with my friend in comfort and privacy. They also enquired about how my friend's health/appearance seemed to me, which I appreciated.
Thanks for your kind comments. I'm so pleased that you have been made to feel welcome when you've visited and that you have had comfort and privacy when visiting your friend. I appreciate you taking the time to review us too. Thank you!
I am a resident at Culwood House and have been here for the past two and a half years. I have Alzheimer's Dementia. I am writing a review because of all the nice things they do here. There is nothing too much trouble for the staff and though I cannot remember their names I know them well. They are always willing to listen to me, help me and make me laugh. When I first joined Culwood I felt unhappy because I had to leave my lovely home. One of the staff members in particular, sat with me many times over the months and explained patiently why I couldn't live by myself, and how much I enjoyed the activities and people at Culwood, even though I couldn't remember. The evidence on their social media page clearly shows my enjoyment and participation of the gentle activities. I know I am very lucky to be here. They keep me young, I really mean it.
Thank you for your lovely review. It's wonderful to hear how happy you are. We are lucky to have you as one of our residents!
I cannot recommend Culwood House highly enough!
Thank you for such a lovely review. We're so pleased to hear how happy you are with the care and staff. We're also delighted that you and your Mother in Law chose Culwood House.
This care home is excellent. All the staff have a genuine caring attitude and go the extra mile to love those in their care. Residents are treated like it's their own home and visitors are made very welcome. The meals are delicious and sourced locally. My mother in law was able to stay at Culwood House Residential Care Home for her final few weeks of life and I cannot fault how lovingly she was cared for during that time. Thank you to the whole team.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We were so pleased to be able to look after your mother-in-law at Culwood House for the final few weeks of her life. We still miss her hugely.
We had a lovely visit and stayed for a delicious lunch in the conservatory. All the staff that we met were very welcoming and helpful. As always, the house and the garden were immaculate. Looking forward to visiting our friend again.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We are really happy to know how welcome you were made to feel and that you enjoyed lunch. We look forward to you visiting again.
I have lived here for three years and have always found the staff caring and cheerful. It is a comfortable, homely house and is kept clean and supplied with fresh flowers. We have many activities and are asked if we would like anything else.
Thank you very much for your lovely review. I'm so pleased to hear you find the staff caring and cheerful. It's also good to know you feel comfortable at Culwood House and feel able to ask for whatever you'd like.
Culwood House looked after my mum for almost 3 years. All the staff treated mum with kindness and dignity. Sadly mum's health deteriorated due to her condition, but Culwood made the last couple of weeks of mum's life so peaceful and quiet. My sister and I were treated with so much compassion as we spent every day with mum. Aside from being a beautiful, well-run home, the activities offered are second to none. There are trips out to local places, so many musicians visit as well as gentle exercise sessions and plenty to stimulate the mind. The meals are exceptional and all needs are catered for. Culwood House gave my sister and I peace of mind that our dear mum was well looked after and she couldn't have been in a better place. We will miss our mum but will also miss our twice-weekly visits and the welcome received more akin to family than just visitors.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We're so pleased that you were happy with the way your mum was cared for at Culwood. It was an honour to look after her. We really miss her. We also miss seeing you both every week.
My Father is currently receiving palliative care at Culwood House, having moved there in 2021. I'm always impressed by the level of care given to Dad; The care is personalised and reviewed day by day to ensure he always has what is needed. Emails are always responded to and any requests we (as a family) may have are taken into account. My Father is treated with great respect and is genuinely loved by the staff. Culwood House is an exceptional care home.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We are so pleased that you are happy with everything we do for your father. It is a pleasure to look after him and we do all genuinely love him.
When Mum became ill, the team was excellent, recognising Mum wasn't herself and arranging for the GP to visit. All the staff was lovely, keeping her close, sometimes she sat in the kitchen with them having coffee and sharing a joke.
As Mum's health failed the staff team excelled. They worked with the district nurse and GP ensuring Mum had the care she needed. We visited as a family frequently, always welcome, staying as long as we wanted, meals were provided, and staff always available to update us on how Mum was doing. In the last weeks seeing the various staff interact with Mum with real affection alongside their professionalism was a comfort.
Thank you for such a lovely review. I'm so pleased you were happy with the care your mum received at Culwood. It was a pleasure to look after her and we really miss her.
Cullwood House is a lovely home, I couldn't have wished for a nicer place for my Granny. All the staff were so kind and caring and the facilities were excellent. Residents are treated with compassion and dignity, it's just a great place.
Thank you for your lovely review. We were so lucky to have been able to look after your Granny and miss her.
She benefits from the activities on offer and is thriving.
I would highly recommend it.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We're pleased that your mum enjoys the activities so much and that you would recommend us.
When we were choosing care homes I was struck by how the word 'we' referred to both the staff and the residents. The sense of being one family is palpable. In the other homes we visited this was not the case.
My Mum has just died and in observing the care she received I was struck by the fact that it wasn't simply excellent care it was loving too.
There are other things that I could mention but being a loving home away from home sums it up.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We miss your mum and feel very fortunate that she chose to be part of the Culwood House family.
Culwood House is a gem of a place. It manages to combine a lovely, calm 'home from home' atmosphere with total commitment and professionalism from every member of staff. My father could not be better cared for. Despite his frailty and Alzheimer's, the staff are unfailingly warm, patient, and compassionate. Even the most minor request or feedback is taken seriously and actioned immediately. He could not be better cared for. My family and I are so reassured and grateful to you all. Thank you.
Thank you for such a kind review. It's a real pleasure to look after your lovely father and we're pleased that you're so happy with the care he receives at Culwood.
We had a very nice lunch together and all staff present were delightful and very attentive.
We shall be booking again!
Thank you very much for your very kind review. I'm so pleased you had a lovely lunch together for Mothering Sunday and that you'd like to book in again.
She always says afterwards how friendly and helpful the staff are.
She enjoys the company and facilities while there.
We hope in the future Mum may become a full-time resident.
Thank you for your very kind review. We really enjoy your mum visiting us and hope to see her again in the near future.
Knit and Natter was a delight this morning, all the residents present participated in the chats we had expressing their varying ideas on all subjects covered from weather abroad to gardening and the perfume of roses. to telling jokes. We all had an enjoyable morning and lots of laughs. It was a pleasure to be part of it.
Thank you for your lovely review. We feel very fortunate to have you coming in to do the knit and natter sessions with the residents. They look forward to your visits and it’s lovely to see them looking so happy. They also take great pleasure in knowing their knitted items go to the neonatal unit.
Today my mum and I visited my nan along with other family members and it was so lovely. Seeing how happy and well she is, thriving within the surroundings and environment is just amazing. We booked the summer house and all enjoyed a yummy lunch together before joining in on their weekly chair exercise class. The lady teaching the class was absolutely brilliant. Keeping all residents and our family members there well entertained with 100% compassion and patience with the residents. It was so lovely to see. We stayed 5 hours with our nan today. The staff are incredible and you are made to feel welcome at all times. Such a beautiful home with excellent staff and amazing service. Thank you for taking such great care of our gorgeous Nan!
Thank you so much for your lovely words. We're really pleased you enjoyed the Summer House, lunch and the armchair exercise class. We're also delighted that your nan is so happy at Culwood House and that she's chosen to make it her home.
All the staff treat the residents with such kindness, care and respect. It has a lovely family atmosphere. Visiting Great Grandma was the highlight of my children’s week! My grandmother was so happy here, we are very grateful to have found such a lovely home for her. We were made to feel so welcome by everyone at Culwood House.
Thank you for your very kind words. We miss your lovely Grandma, she had such a lovely smile and was appreciative of everything we did for her. I hope you will pop in for a cup of tea with the children when you're next in the area.
