Under the exacting conditions of Covid over the past twenty-one months, Culwood has managed superbly - and full credit to the management and team to their care and diligence.

I had visited 14 care homes locally before choosing Culwood for my Mother who is living with Alzheimer’s. Culwood really is a home from home rather than an institution. The team feels like a family and are amazing in their care and compassion for the residents. Mum settled very quickly and I have been impressed with the care given to her by the staff. Even after a significant decline in her Alzheimer’s, they have remained committed to giving her the best care possible.

My mother settled into the home very quickly thanks largely to the kind, supportive staff. My family has been very impressed with the standard of care, the food, activities, accommodation and surroundings at Culwood. We feel we most definitely made the right choice having visited several homes before opting for a place for our mother here. She is very happy. Thank you for your continued good work.

When I have had to talk about difficult things to do with my mum I have found the manager to be so easy to talk to. I feel they have gone the extra mile in the care of my mother and I will never forget that.

All the staff at Culwood House have been wonderful caring for my mother. They have been patient and understanding of her needs. They have been very supportive of her family and very welcoming to us all. They keep us informed of anything we need to know and have always treated us all as part of the Culwood family. They have done everything they possibly could do to support us through very difficult times, and my mother has felt so at home and happy about living there since she moved in. I love the little things they do that make special occasions memorable for the residents. Everything is clean and well cared for without being that awful institutional characterless environment. My mother likes the homeliness style of all the room and it is so nice she has her own paintings and things sound her in her room. I couldn’t bear her to be anywhere else it could never match the loving and happy home she has at Culwood.

Exceptional care home providing a very high quality of service with a very caring attitude to residents. My mother has been here for the last year as now has Dementia. The staff are extremely patient with her and ensure she is involved in as much as possible in the home. I do not really know what I would do without Culwood House giving me the assurance that all my mum's needs are being met and she is always made to feel safe and loved.

As a family, we have felt welcomed and we are able to communicate with staff and my mother regularly.

This is a beautiful care home with dedicated staff. My mother has been here for quite a few years now and has had the best care one could wish for. The staff are very patient and kind, even when Mum can be a bit difficult. I could not have found a better home for her. The house and grounds are lovely and I know the food is excellent. Just wish I could stop by for lunch and join Mum but lack of time sometimes gets in the way.

I have been very happy with the care given to my mother, she is treated with dignity and given care and support when needed. The home is always spotlessly clean. She has a beautiful garden also to sit out in the summer. The food is homemade and wholesome.

This is my first year here and I feel I have settled very well overall considering I have been on my own for over forty years. Therefore I am more than happy to spend time on my own. The staff understand this. I have no complaints whatsoever and know I need a care home as I struggle to remember things.

We have had over two years of experience with Culwood House and cannot speak highly enough of the manager and her team. Two of my father's cousins had no children so we helped firstly, the older one into Culwood House, but sadly after 18 months there, she passed away aged 93. By then the younger one was struggling with Alzheimer's and we had no hesitation in placing her there as well.

Culwood House is a relaxing atmosphere and comfortable environment, run by caring and professional and welcoming staff. I have been hugely impressed by how they've looked after my father.

I have settled in very well here. The staff are always kind and helpful and always try to accommodate my needs. There are a range of activities and trips which I can participate in. I particularly like the knitting sessions and the visits from the magician. I feel safe and healthy.

His room, however, is very small and if there is a single drawback to his quality of life it is the overly constricted space.

The lunches are ok but the evening meal is inadequate and could be improved by being a cooked meal. I do enjoy talking to the staff, but wish there was greater opportunity for conversation with other residents at mealtimes. I enjoy the poetry activity but feel there could be more things like that.

Friendly and efficient staff. Homely atmosphere. Lovely garden to enjoy.

I have been here for just over a year and have been made to feel very welcome. The care I am provided with is very good and the staff are really kind and patient. The home is very well run and the cleanliness is excellent. Whenever there has been an issue it has been dealt with promptly in an efficient and caring way.
