I feel very lucky knowing that my uncle is well looked after at St Leonards Care Home and that I do not have to worry about him. I cannot fault one aspect of care and support provided by ALL the staff, everyone is extremely friendly and treat my uncle as if he were their own. All staff take time to
chat to him and go above and beyond when it comes to his care and wellbeing. The staff are very approachable and nothing is too much trouble. They take the time to know their residents and their needs. During the Covid-19 the staff have worked immensely hard and taken on extra shifts to ensure that his care remains of a high standard. No one has experienced any illness during this period and they have made sure that I am kept informed about his well being during this difficult time, providing regular updates. I don't feel like he is in a care home, but in a family unit where he is loved and supported. He couldn't be happier which is my main priority. I would highly recommend this home

All good. A big relief that I don't have to worry about my mum, and that she is in the best place for her, especially in the current situation. She is well looked after in the home and seems happy enough.

At St Leonards you always get a very warm welcome - the staff and management are always on hand to help with any requirements. They treat all the residents with the utmost care, ensuring that they are well looked after and are on hand to deal with any special requests if/when required. I have always
been impressed by their warmth shown to visitors who are always made very welcome and also well looked after during their visits.

My mother joined St Leonards a year ago following five hospital visits to A&E a month. I cannot praise St Leonards enough for the way the staff look after my mother. She is treated with dignity, encouraged to carry on doing the menial tasks she has capacity to do, something as simple as drinking out
of a china cup and saucer and not taking an easy route of a plastic beaker with a lid. No doubt that time will come, but not until health and safety butt in. Staff go beyond their roles at all levels to ensure residents are happy and nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation throughout the care home has been given a fab new look. Residents all being involved in choices. I know that as life is now, still with Covid-19 present in the country, my mum would never have survived. If you are looking for a care home in Aylesbury, and St Leonards meets your family needs. It comes recommended to you incredibly highly!

St Leonards is such a lovely care home, my nan receives such loving care and attention from all of the staff.
The care home is beautifully decorated and is spotlessly clean every time I have visited.
During this pandemic they have kept our nan extremely safe, locking down early and not allowing visitors.
All staff are well equipped with the relevant PPE. They have made sure we can FaceTime our nan so we can still see how well she looks.
Thank you to all of the management team and staff for doing such a fab job and keeping all of the residents safe.

St Leonards is a very homely care home which was my favourite out of twelve homes I visited. The carers are, on the whole, very friendly, caring and understanding of the needs of individuals and people with dementia. They are good at managing difficult behaviour. The dementia section of the home is
all on the ground floor with space to work around for those residents who want to. There are several lounge and seating areas with access to secure, attractive gardens. There is a kitchen that residents can use and quieter areas to sit with your relative. There are plenty of varied activities and entertainment with opportunities for trips out. It is handy for visits to town and garden centres nearby.

After a six-week stay in hospital recovering from a stroke, my grandad moved into St Leonards. Management and staff at the home have made my grandad feel so welcome and comfortable at what is a very scary time of his life. All staff have taken the time to individually introduce themselves and ensure
his care needs are catered for. Accommodation is clean and inviting with touches from home. Beautiful gardens and a bright atmosphere. Could not be happier for my grandad

Our mum has been in St Leonards since August 2017 and we have nothing but praise of the home.
Always a warm welcome, clean, good facilities and friendly staff. I have not tried the food but mum seems to like it and eats it all.
Management always helpful and well informed. I would highly recommend.

Since mum arrived the staff have been compassionate and caring to her needs. They are always friendly towards visitors and ready to help both residents and visitors alike and always ready to answer questions or listen to my concerns if any and to put my mind at rest
I have always found the home to
be clean to the highest standard and as ex-Royal Navy, my standards are high in this area.
Having spoken to mum regarding the food she is always very gushing in her praise for the standard.
The only reason for my good comment on the rooms is that mum is in a room that is still waiting to be updated to an ensuite and this would improve my score to excellent. This is due to happen in the near future but not at the moment.

I would recommend this home to anyone who asked me.

St Leonards is bright and welcoming, tastefully decorated with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. My friend always tells me how happy she is there and she wouldn't want to go anywhere else. She can be involved in the various activities I have seen when I visit and I am aware that the residents have
outings and many other interesting activities. The staff are kind and professional as far as I have seen. My friend looks well and cared for.

St Leonards is a caring, efficiently run home from home for elderly people requiring that little bit of extra help. The atmosphere is one of a big family with everyone helping each other and provides a really happy atmosphere.

All the staff do everything they can to ensure the happiness and comfort

of the residents. There are varied activities to engage the interest, both physical and passive. The hygiene is exemplary. Food is varied and well prepared for all tastes and requirements. My mother has been a resident for over six years and I have no reservations about recommending this well run care home to anyone.

I wanted to say a very big thank you to all the staff at St Leonards for their wonderful care of my mother-in-law. She was only at the care home for a few short months but during that time, staff showed her nothing but love and attention whilst respecting dignity and her privacy at all times. They
could not have done more for her, and we are all incredibly grateful. I cannot recommend this lovely home enough. The setting is lovely; incredibly homely, and the standard of rooms is very good with everything on tap for residents. We were always made to feel part of a large loving family. Thank you all!

My mum has been a resident at St Leonard's for over 6 years and in all that time I have been constantly impressed with the care and dedication of the staff. They provide a loving environment where my mum feels cared for and at home. There are lots of activities many of which are individually tailored
for my mum with a view to her interests and enjoyment. I have never had a moment's concern regarding her safety and well being. If ever there is a problem such as a recent problem with the plumbing in my mum's en-suite shower room, it was addressed and resolved immediately. We have never regretted choosing St Leonards.

My mother has been a resident at St Leonards for 2 years now, she has settled in really well. I love the home, it's beautifully decorated, clean and the staff are very welcoming and amazing people, that's residents and their family and friends. She has a high level of food and care to an exceptional
standard. She is very happy to live there and doesn't have any worries. Thank you so much to all the staff and the lovely manager.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.789)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.789) out of 10 for St Leonards Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.889 for St Leonards Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (96 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.889
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Leonards Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
