From the very beginning, we have been happy with our choice.
All the staff have been most helpful and caring, making our journey so much easier.
It feels more like a family home rather than a care home, just what we hoped for for Mum.
It’s been a difficult time for us all but Little Oakes have constantly made it so much easier for us.
A good choice for us all round.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review, we really enjoy having Mum here and we are pleased we could be of help with the journey. I will pass on your kind words to the team. Kind regards.
She was very well looked after in all areas and all her needs were met efficiently.
A big thank you to all the staff for making her stay such a good experience.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review for Little Oaks and your positive words, we are glad Mum's respite break was a good experience and we hope to see her again in the future. Kind regards.
Mum had a series of falls over the last year and was taken into hospital at the end of July with a lung infection. During her stay in hospital she lost a lot of weight and suffered two more falls. When I visited Little Oaks, the staff were very welcoming, and the atmosphere very happy. As soon as I saw the room, I knew that Mum would feel at home there. The home manager visited Mum in hospital on the Bank Holiday Monday, reassuring her and making her laugh. Mum was due to be discharged on the Wednesday and the staff pulled out all the stops to get her room ready for her. The home manager even went to the trouble of going out to buy new curtains that would match Mum's bedspread! Mum has settled very happily and put back her weight with the good home cooking! The staff are very patient, caring and cheerful, and take great care of her. I feel she is very safe there. Thank you Little Oaks.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review and for your kind and positive words, we are so pleased Mum has settled in well and feels at home here. I will pass on your lovely comments to the care team, which I know will be gratefully received.
Little Oaks Residential Care Home in High Wycombe gave my mum outstanding and compassionate care during her stay their (January 2022 to April 2023). Mum was really well looked after and treated with dignity and respect. I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they did for mum.
Thank you for your lovely words and for taking the time to complete a review. It was a pleasure to care for Mum during her time here, I will pass on your kind comments to the team.
Mum is very happy and contented here and well looked after, with all her needs taken care of efficiently but with thought. It is her home and she is happy. The staff are caring and take the time to interact with mum, and willing to wave to her and say hello whenever they pass by her room which she loves. She enjoys the food here and the cooking is good. She is supervised when her medication is given. The manager is visible and approachable, a lovely person who knows her job and does it thoughtfully, efficiently and with care, and all the staff appear happy and are always friendly, caring and good-natured. The home has a lovely calm atmosphere.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review, its really lovely to receive such positive feedback and very much appreciated, I will pass on your kind words to the care team. Kind regards.
Having taken the difficult decision to move my mother-in-law into a care home, we were determined to find somewhere that would look after her and accommodate her particular needs to the same level we gave her at home. We love the home-from-home ethos of Little Oaks and the manager clearly cares deeply about the residents. The staff are all friendly and helpful and there is a genuinely welcoming atmosphere and homely feel to the place. The food is also excellent, just like you'd cook at home. We are very impressed with the level of care and attention to detail that she receives. There is a real bond developing between her and the staff and she is very happy there.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review, your kind and positive words are appreciated. We are proud of our home and the care we give our residents, I will pass on your comments to the care team which will be warmly received. Kind regards.
My mum has not been in Little Oaks very long, she was taken into hospital by ambulance after a fall, having been there for several days Mum was declared fit for discharge. In the opinion of the family and Mum herself, home was not safe enough for her to return to and the heating was not working. We needed to find a care home that could provide respite care immediately. Of the four homes contacted, Little Oaks responded straight away and were able to provide her with a comfortable room in a homely environment. All the staff are caring and kind and are getting to know Mum and are helping her to regain her confidence and mobility.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review, we were happy to help and are enjoying having Mum here. I will pass on your compliments to the care team. Kind regards.
My mum has been in Little Oaks for a few years, but the last year has been particularly difficult with a series of medical issues culminating in 3 weeks in hospital which left her in a poor way. Little Oaks Manager and staff have been tirelessly patient and kind in getting her back on her feet, in better health and feeling much more positive. There is a very good homely atmosphere - staff really know residents, cleanliness is excellent and organisation is good. The home did have a change of management but this has now settled down and there has been a thorough programme of building improvements and redecoration.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review, it's so lovely to hear about the positive outcome the care team has had with mum and your kind words of appreciation will be greatly received when I pass them on. Kind regards.
My mother has been in Little Oaks Care Home for the past year. She is well looked after, always looking presentable. The rooms are kept clean and tidy. The care home is always warm. The staff are very helpful and visitors are always welcome. The food is nutritious and well-presented and with plenty of choices. There is much entertainment being organised for the residents now Covid restrictions have been lifted.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review and for your positive feedback which I will pass on to the care team. Kind regards.
Little Oaks Residential Home provided a very welcoming environment for my mother's visit for a respite break. The ethos of providing a home-from-home experience was well demonstrated by the caring staff who focused on my mother's individual needs. All her visitors were also appreciative of the welcome they received, which all helped to provide a positive experience for their visit. The spacious room enabled those visits to take place in a quiet environment. My mother was able to relax in the safe caring setting which enabled the stay to be a positive experience.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review, it's really nice to have positive feedback and I will pass it on to the care team. We look forward to welcoming Mum back for her respite stays in the near future. Kind regards.
Well-managed team.
Open and communicative.
Home facilities are very good, and newly decorated rooms.
Mum is more social in the lounge area.
Kind and friendly staff.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review and for your positive feedback. I will pass it on to the care team. Kind regards.
It took mum some time to adjust to being in a care home after being so independent, but the caring staff soon made her feel at home. I think having some of her own furniture, family photos, and other personnel effects around the room helped her to settle in. Now, mum joins in with every activity and always says how lovely the staff are.
When you walk in through the front door, it feels like you are entering a family home. All the staff are so friendly, and nothing is too much trouble.
We are so grateful mum is in Little Oaks. The care and love for the residents and the dedication of the staff are second to none. Knowing that mum is well cared for and happy is very important to us.
Thank you for your kind words which will be passed on to the staff.
Throughout this time every effort was made to maintain communication with the family.
Once visiting opened up again and I was able to go in, I found it comfortable, clean and tidy, with no odours (in my profession I have visited many carehomes which the same cannot be said for)
During her last few weeks when she needed a high level of care, this was provided sympathetically and efficiently - Mum was always clean and well cared for, as was her bed, so her last few weeks were peaceful.
All the staff were very kind, and we found it reassuring that she was safe and comfortable.
Thank you for your very kind words. We are so delighted that you were happy with the care provided throughout your mother's stay at Little Oaks.
My mum was a resident at Little Oaks for 7 years. In that time she was treated with respect and kindness, I knew that she was in safe hands and that I would be informed of any changes that involved her care. Mum passed away in April, 9 days away from her 101st birthday. It was the first class care she received that enabled her to reach this amazing age. I would highly recommend this lovely care home.
My father was in the care home for over 4 years until he passed away this January. He loved it at Little Oaks and would talk very fondly about each member of staff, knowing all their names. We are truly grateful for the love and care he was given by all at Little Oakes over those extra 4 years we had with him and the way we were always made to feel welcome on our visits at any time of the day.
I would highly recommend Little Oaks for anyone considering a residential place for their loved ones, as the love and care is first class and you know they will be in safe hands.
Both my parents have received outstanding care at Little Oaks. Sadly, my father has recently passed away but the care he received during his short stay was one of kindness, warmth and compassion. The care and attention given to my mother who has been at the home with dementia for over 5 years is the best possible care anyone could ask for.
It is not an easy decision to place a loved relative in a residential home but when our independent mother needed full-time care and support we were very lucky to find Little Oaks. The experienced nursing care and unexpected emotional support of the wonderfully caring staff helped her and us throughout her 18 months stay. Sadly she passed away during lockdown which meant we could not be with her for her final days but we were comforted by the knowledge that she had loving end of life care.
My Aunt was really well looked after and it was the happiest two years of her life within the Care Home. She loved the company and activities that were provided. Always had her friend sat beside her and of course, other ladies in the lounge. The staff were very attentive and really loved their residents. Giving them the care and comfort that they required.
We cannot praise the management and staff highly enough for all their excellent care both to my mother and us.
When searching for a suitable care home for a very dear elderly friend, I found Little Oaks. My unannounced first call received a friendly and expansive show-round and my immediate impression was 'homely'. The owner came to my friend's home to meet her and her caring nature and empathy won over a lady who had been reluctant to admit she was struggling to cope. The two months before she died brought joy back into her life and she blossomed from the love and caring atmosphere of this very special home.
