Pratt House

Mum is totally dependent upon the ministrations of the care team as she is bed bound and on palliative care. The members of the care team are caring and conscientious and diligent whenever they attend her. Mum is kept as comfortable as she can be and I see real compassion towards her from the staff. Contributions to her comfort also come from the laundry for her changes of her bedwear and bedding, from the cleaning staff for keeping her room so fresh and for the kitchen staff for all her refreshments. It feels like a wonderful team effort, for which my deepest thanks.

My mother has received excellent care while at Pratt House. The team has given considerable thought to her particular needs and interests and worked hard to maximise her safety, health and happiness. An impressive range of activities is available and much hard work goes into ensuring there is something of interest to all. Sincere thanks to all involved.

Mum moved to Pratt House not long before Christmas in anticipation that it would become her permanent home. She had previously been in another care home where she had a period of respite care following a fall. The experience of two different care homes on top of moving out of her own home could have been disorienting for Mum, but the staff at Pratt House have worked well to make her feel at home. As well as providing an excellent level of care, the staff have made a point of involving Mum in various activities and, as a result, she is settling in very well. Pratt House provides a high degree of personal care, and Mum enjoys the quality and range of food.

I cannot say enough good things about Pratt House. My brother's mental, emotional, and physical state has greatly improved since he moved here in January of 2023. His stay here has yielded outstanding results. This is largely due to the very capable, professional, and caring staff. The many planned activities, sense of community, and attentive care have had a tremendous effect. The Pratt House is in a lovely location with beautiful gardens. The house itself is tidy and well-maintained. The ample natural light makes it bright and cheerful which creates an environment conducive to an enjoyable life.

An amazing care home where residents are treated with empathy, dignity, and kindness. Pratt House is such a positive environment with an incredible care and activities team, providing engaging activities for residents as well as comfort.

I came to stay here for just a week, while my daughter who helps me is away on holiday. This is a new experience for me. I have found it a pleasant experience, as I live alone, and I cannot get out and meet people as I have been used to. I have recently had to give up driving. The staff here are great, very helpful and always available. The food is good, with a good choice of menu.

My father-in-law went into Pratt House for 9 days respite. He's just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's so we weren't quite sure how it would go. We were very impressed with the staff and general level of care at the home. Seems a good general atmosphere and there were lots of people smiling, particularly when my father-in-law did his Elvis impression! He seemed to be happy with his stay, and we got through the 9 days fairly smoothly. There were a couple of medical issues but we were kept informed and they seemed to settle down over the stay. A particular mention goes to one staff member in particular who was our main contact and seemed very on the ball. All in all it seems a nice place and we hope to be able to take him in for other respite stays over the coming months.

I feel as though I am cheating here as I initially received a recommendation about Pratt House. However, I did a tour of 4 other care homes in the area and felt very comfortable with Pratt House. My father has now been there 2 weeks and I am delighted with the care dignity and professionalism all the team there have shown him. I would not hesitate to recommend Pratt House to anyone who is looking for a safe and caring home for their loved ones.

Mum settled in very well and it's nice to know I can leave her there without any worries or concerns for her wellbeing and safety.

The care provided at Pratt House is excellent. Mum has been a resident here for two years; initially, it took a little time for her to settle, but the staff were continually supportive of her as well as us as a family. You can see how much they genuinely care about each resident by the relationships they have formed. I would highly recommend Pratt House as a caring, home-from-home care home.

The level of service from the staff is outstanding. I would recommend this home for anybody who needs members of their family to be looked after.

Poor meeting facilities i.e. somewhere for a family to meet with a resident other than in their room.

My mum is treated with kindness, dignity and love. She is thriving at Pratt House, smiles more than she has in a long time and loves joining in with everything. I know she is safe and cared for, thank you so much.

The bedrooms are light and a good size. I particularly like the garden and the fact that residents can access outside space easily. Security is good but unobtrusive. General feel is very good, friendly guesthouse rather than 5 Star hotel (no chandeliers here!) and it's easy to feel at home.

I feel content and happy at Pratt House.

Freedom to go to bed when I like.

We have been impressed by communications from the home and overall, are very happy with the care Mum is getting at Pratt House.

A wonderful home and we would not hesitate to recommend it.
