We can't recommend Downing House enough. Dad's been there for just over three years and it's been brilliant. Being a smaller home the staff have more time to spend with the clients, and they genuinely do care for them all as though it was their own relatives. They have regular entertainment, summer
fairs, and go out to concerts and relatives are always welcome. The communication between staff and relatives and through the home with the GP (who visits once a week) is exceptional. Everywhere is clean and bright, and it feels like a true 'home' not an institution. Dad loves it there, which is wonderful.

All the staff are friendly and work very hard. But a special mention to the cook. Not only is she an excellent cook and knows what all the residents like to eat, she also cuts the residents' hair in her break time and made sure that everybody who needed their hair doing was done in December because
as she said everybody wants to look and feel good at Christmas! Fantastic, lovely person.

Having had experience of other local homes for my husband and father,I have found Bradbury House to be the best. The staff are welcoming nothing too much trouble. My mother at 95 is well looked after .The home is clean ,tidy and the food is very good. The only concern my mum has is the turnover of staff
she finds it very unsettling and it aggravates her anxiety. I understand this is out of the control of management except to say that they should ensure that agency staff are fully conversant with the Bradbury regime and residents.
Reply from Eva Raczka, Bradbury Interim Manager at Abbeyfield Bradbury HouseThank you for your kind review. We are pleased to hear that your mother is well cared for and that you value the welcoming atmosphere, cleanliness, and food at Bradbury House. We also appreciate your feedback regarding staff continuity and understand how important consistency is for residents' wellbeing. This is something we continue to actively address.

My partner stayed at Abbeyfield for a period of respite care. As it was our very first experience, I was extremely anxious. However, ALL the staf were incredibly caring, helpful, experienced, and friendly, while always remaining highly professional. They made the transition as smooth and reassuring
as possible for us. We truly have no words to fully express our gratitude to every one of them.

Thanks to the circular layout of the buildings, the home feels bright, open, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. Both the rooms and communal areas are clean and well maintained.

A big THANK YOU to everyone for looking after my partner with such genuine care and kindness.

I found Westall after my father's mobility and needs finally meant that independent living was becoming impossible and an increasing worry to me. I was torn about that move, though very pleased with my father's care at Westall since he arrived just over a year ago. It has given me and the family peace
of mind to know that he is comfortable and well cared for by an excellent team that he has grown very fond of. The team get in touch if there is anything I need to know about or discuss. Visiting is easy, and focused on being with him, as his care, food, medicine and wellbeing needs are all sorted. He has a lovely, well appointed room, with a nice view of the garden, so it does really feel like a "home" to him.

Mum always said "don't ever put me in a home" and I said I wouldn't. We got to a point where a 2 week respite break was necessary, so she joined the residents at Bradbury House. She enjoyed the company and activities, and the staff were so kind and caring towards her. Within 3 days of returning home
she asked to go back and is now a permanent resident. She loves the views from her room but spends most of her time in the lounge talking to the other residents, playing dominoes when there are no other activities scheduled. I can't thank the staff enough for welcoming her into the home and for caring for her like one of their own family. They also welcome myself and my sister when we visit and often end up joining the activities.
Reply from Eva Raczka, Bradbury Interim Manager at Abbeyfield Bradbury HouseThank you for sharing your experience. We are delighted that your mother settled so quickly and now feels at home at Bradbury House. It is wonderful to hear she enjoys the company, activities and social life, and that you and your sister feel welcomed when you visit. My father has been living at Westall for 2 years. He suffers with Alzheimer's and is living in the Rosemary Wing. He is physically one of the fittest residents there and his needs are more activity focused rather than intimate care, although he does need that too at times. I cannot recommend the
staff highly enough. They have a wonderful rapport with him and there is a lot of laughter and the atmosphere is always happy despite what is going on and how exhausted they all are. I love that we can pop in at any time and just join in with what is going on.

Over the last year, Abbeyfield have been great in looking after a family member.
Staff are amazing from care staff, cleaners, admin, managers and cooks, with each being very helpful to residents and visitors. They all engage with residents with their care, activities singing, drawing, games and overall
wellbeing. I trust the staff.
The private rooms are nice and can be personalised and have "front doors" and bathrooms. There are common spaces, and in sunnier times have a great area for walking and sit talking when visiting. Quiet rooms are useful for visits as well as cinema room.
Overall the buildings are clean and modern and outside gardening areas make a great impression.
Keep up the great work!

My mother was a resident at Abbeyfield Winnersh for only two months when her vascular dementia developed to an extent that she could no longer to live alone. The staff at Abbeyfield were amazing. I have never met so many compassionate, patient and genuinely caring people. The care they provided was
exceptional and every one showed her so much kindness and respect. The home is very well designed for dementia patients and it meant she could stay active and have a level of freedom while we knew she was safe. At the end of her life, the compassion and support the team showed both us and Mum made the situation bearable. I will never be able to thank the team at Abbeyfield enough for the kindness they showed us.

My husband was a resident at Abbeyfield Winnersh for the past two years, and I cannot thank the staff and management enough for the wonderful care he received. He was always very happy there and truly felt it was his home. He had the freedom to walk around and explore at his own leisure, which meant
a great deal to him.
The staff were exceptionally caring and attentive, always treating him with kindness and respect. There were plenty of activities to enjoy, and he especially loved the music and dancing.
During his time receiving palliative care, the management and staff went above and beyond - not only looking after him, but also caring for our whole family. Nothing was ever too much trouble, day or night. Every carer spoke so fondly of him, and right up until the end, they ensured he was comfortable and maintained his dignity.
I will always be grateful for the compassion, warmth, and support we received.

The surroundings are excellent and our dad loves the cinema room. It's run by a great management
team as well which is important. Thank you Abbeyfield!

Speedwell Court is fantastic. The staff are kind, professional and extremely caring, always treating my mum and residents with dignity and respect. The home is clean and very welcoming, which gave us, as a family, peace of mind knowing Mum was so well looked after. I would certainly recommend Speedwell
as they've gone above and beyond to look after Mum.

Mum was sadly only a resident at Abbeyfield Speedwell for 9 days. However the care that mum received at every level from the admin staff, medical staff, housekeeping and nursing staff was excellent in every respect. The staff were very kind and caring to me as well, and I was without a doubt that when
I was not there the excellent care continued.
