I am totally happy with the care Chris is receiving. What wonderful caring staff.

Staff always welcome me on arrival, often by name. They usually know who I have come to visit. Staff are caring and try hard to persuade mum to engage. I am very happy with the care that she receives. Since the previous activities co-ordinator left, it feels that there is less going on but that may be just my perception.

Our family has been so worried about Mum for many months and we are now relieved that she is safe and being well cared for in a lovely environment. She is enjoying all the activities and also being with so many lovely people.

More than happy with the level of care and standard of the care home. The building, bedrooms and gardens are always clean, safe and well maintained. Staff show nothing but respect, patience, kindness and empathy towards residents and are always cheerful, friendly, approachable and professional to family members. Communication is good and personal needs are met and treated in a dignified manner. I am at peace knowing mum is happy and supported 24/7.

The overall care at This home is fantastic. It is always a lovely environment to walk into with friendly, efficient staff. All residents seem very happy and the fact that it was my mother who chose to stay here says it all. She sees friendly faces all day and she loves the feeling of security. Her room is a decent size allowing for it to feel like home. Nutritionally, she's fairly well catered for, although she wishes there were less sugary treats available.

The end of life care was carried out with care and compassion. The staff were supportive and provided many welcome cups of tea .

Very busy 62 bed care home for dementia patients currently awaiting new manager. Good facilities overall and kind attentive staff. Management not happy with current catering company but they are seeking to address this. Outside grounds recently improved and visitors welcomed 24/7

The home itself is very welcoming, the staff cheerful and the building extremely clean and tidy.

I have been very satisfied with all aspects of the care provided for my friend. There have been considerable challenges but staff have always dealt empathetically and with professionalism as each challenge arises.

The care team welcome visitors and it has been very easy for me to support my mother in what could be a stressful move and for me to bring in physiotherapists. I am delighted that my mother is now able to move about the house well and to see her relaxed and comfortable. Thank you to the whole team.

It's difficult to describe the outstanding care and attention provided not only to the residents at Halcyon House, but to the family too. There is an exceptional warmth about this home. It's like being surrounded by family, every member of staff exudes empathy and works as a coherent team. When I say that there doesn't seem to be a hierarchy (ie not dictatorial), a good thing, because every single person works towards caring for the residents gently and with kindness. Everyone is smiley and upbeat, interacting with the residents with compassion and humour whilst respecting dignity. Since it's a small care home it's cosy, has little nooks and crannies where you can sit peacefully, beautiful gardens, and a there's warm welcome for visitors. There is of course great leadership, but it's clear that everyone is respected. As a care home and a work environment Halcyon House is home from home and 5* Thanks Nessa for your outstanding compassion and efficiency, and of to all of the team.

You allowed Mel to join the group and her enthusiasm and energy have done wonders. I have seen how she gives personal attention and time to people in the home, touching hands and reaching hearts, the Christmas entertainments and group outings - you head a fabulous team and it cascades through the home - I am so grateful, on behalf of my mum - thank thank you thank you

End of life is never easy but the whole staff looked after us as much as our Dad and for that we will always be truly grateful.

I would like to express heartfelt thanks for the care my husband received during a short stay at Speedwell. The care staff dealt very well with his fluctuating needs, and the management were calm and helpful when we were uncertain of what arrangements needed to be made. Special thanks to the night staff, who kept watch with the paramedic and me through the long night of waiting for ambulance arrival - (this included welcome cups of tea).

Our family will always be grateful for the care, kindness, and support shown to our father and grandfather during his time at Abbeyfield Hill House.

From the very beginning, it was clear that the home provided a safe, welcoming, and compassionate environment. Dad often spoke warmly about the staff and the genuine friendships he had formed there. The level of care and companionship he received went far beyond expectations and reflected the wonderful culture within the home.

We were always made to feel welcome as a family, and even during very difficult times, everything was handled with professionalism, dignity, and genuine compassion.

Thank you to everyone at Hill House for making such a positive difference to Dad's life and to our family.
