Westall House

Our family has been so worried about Mum for many months and we are now relieved that she is safe and being well cared for in a lovely environment. She is enjoying all the activities and also being with so many lovely people.

The care team welcome visitors and it has been very easy for me to support my mother in what could be a stressful move and for me to bring in physiotherapists. I am delighted that my mother is now able to move about the house well and to see her relaxed and comfortable. Thank you to the whole team.

Very satisfied with the care our mother receives. Staff are extremely caring and kind, and there is always a lovely atmosphere in the home. Nothing ever appears to be too much trouble when we ask for help, and management is always very responsive on the occasions when we have voiced any concerns.

Westall House is wonderful. The care is outstanding. My Mother has been in there for over 3 years and has recently needed extra care. The staff have been amazing, so lovely, so caring. Not only looking after my Mother but looking after us too. I am so happy that she is there being so well looked after.

All staff greet visitors and care staff particularly are very familiar with the behaviours of each and every resident.

My father has been very unwell over the Christmas period, he has progressing Dementia and high risk with falling and unresponsive episodes. He has had a very nasty chest infection. Our wishes have been for him to remain at home, and carers and managers at Westall have been so kind, thorough and wonderful working with paramedics, doctor and community nurses to take care of him and keep him safe and comfortable despite challenging situations.

I found Westall after my father's mobility and needs finally meant that independent living was becoming impossible and an increasing worry to me. I was torn about that move, though very pleased with my father's care at Westall since he arrived just over a year ago. It has given me and the family peace of mind to know that he is comfortable and well cared for by an excellent team that he has grown very fond of. The team get in touch if there is anything I need to know about or discuss. Visiting is easy, and focused on being with him, as his care, food, medicine and wellbeing needs are all sorted. He has a lovely, well appointed room, with a nice view of the garden, so it does really feel like a "home" to him.

My father has been living at Westall for 2 years. He suffers with Alzheimer's and is living in the Rosemary Wing. He is physically one of the fittest residents there and his needs are more activity focused rather than intimate care, although he does need that too at times. I cannot recommend the staff highly enough. They have a wonderful rapport with him and there is a lot of laughter and the atmosphere is always happy despite what is going on and how exhausted they all are. I love that we can pop in at any time and just join in with what is going on.

The staff are always helpful and are always available to answer any questions; they go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy. I am so glad we found Westall Independent Living as it has made our visits to mum so much nicer than where she was before. It's like a family community.

Having looked at many care homes for mum. Westall House was by far the best. We are so happy mum has settled in well and cannot praise the staff enough. All the staff have been extremely friendly and efficient. The home has a lovely feel, and we look forward to our visits. We would definitely recommend Westall House.

We are so pleased and relieved to have found Westall House for mum. The staff are so kind and caring, friendly and welcoming. Mum has settled in really well and we are confident she is well looked after. The food is excellent and the grounds are beautiful. Everything seems to run very efficiently and staff are happy in their work, which creates a calm and relaxed atmosphere for the residents, so important with dementia. Management team are easy to contact and happy to discuss details of mum's care plan. From maintenance, cleaners, carers, caterers, activities, to admin, everyone puts the residents wellbeing at top priority. Thank you!

I go away often and feel completely confident that my mother will be well looked after and I will be contacted if necessary.

Mother is very well cared for at Westall. All rooms are spotlessly clean and the food is of excellent quality. There is a wide variety of activities and musical events. All the staff are extremely pleasant and caring and treat the residents with dignity.

My Mum has been living in Westall House for 6 months now. The home is really well run and the staff are all friendly, hard-working and very engaged with my Mum. The home tries exceptionally hard to ensure that activities are constantly organised so that if the residents want interactions and distractions there are opportunities. The premises are very comfortable and my Mum is always praising the food.

The care staff have been extremely patient and reassuring to my mother-in-law to reduce her anxiety over moving into residential care. Everyone makes sure all the residents are cared for with dignity and respect while allowing them to make their own choices if able.

I can highly recommend Westall House as a happy home, full of kindness and quality care.

It has been a pleasure for all the family, including my mother, to have made her home at Westall House. As one of the residents said at the most recent resident and relative meetings, "the contents have it"! It is very apparent that the residents love the staff, and that is because the feeling is most fully reciprocated. As a relative, we have been welcomed into the "family" and are included in our mother's new home.

Westall House is outstanding. It provides a warm, friendly, efficient and caring home where individuals are valued and nothing is too much trouble. Residents are kept stimulated by interesting and fun activities and there always seems to be a great deal of laughter. The food is great and varied and special likes and dislikes are catered for. My friend has lived there for over a year and loves it. The other residents and the staff are her new family now and as she deteriorates she is so well cared for and I know she is safe. The staff treat her as if she is their mum. When I visit I am always made to feel really welcome and I am kept informed about her condition and I can talk to any of them about any worries I have. So good.
