The staff at Swarthmore are the kindest and most efficient of people. I visit at least twice a week and only see carers who are doing their very best to help and look after the residents. The food is excellent and everyone seems to do just that little bit extra to help. Whenever I visit, they are all so pleasant that it makes it a pleasure to meet them. On top of that, small things happen which are not always know about. When the washing is carried out (and back to the resident the same day) if one of the name-tags is coming off - someone will sew it on. Small things matter with Swarthmore and I truly appreciate all they do for my Mother.

My brother in law was cared for perfectly on all fronts, particularly as he was not the most communicative person.

Swarthmore is a lovely care home the staff are all very kind and helpful. My Mother is very happy and I have no concerns about her well being . The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming whenever I visit. There are also plenty of events and activities happening for the residents too which is nice. The garden is just beautiful too.

I have been very pleased with the care that my mother has received in the home. The feeling that you get in the home is that the residents are the most important people and the staff understand that everyone is an individual with individual needs!
The home may not be as modern as a lot of other places, but what it lacks in up to date facilities it makes up for by making sure that everyone receives attention they need. Daily activities certainly help.

The carers are only too pleased to try to make everyone as happy and contented as they can be in residential care. I certainly would encourage people to consider this home.

The person for whom I have responsibility is now 93. She entered Swarthmore with her husband some four years ago. Her husband died last year. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for, initially their care of both residents, and subsequently for the professionalism and empathy with which they have cared for Joyce who now suffers from dementia. The support throughout her grieving, and the dignity with which they enable Joyce to participate normally in activities have been priceless for both her and me. I have the overall responsibility for her welfare. When I ask her how she is she replies, 'I'm very happy.' And I can see that she really is.
