Review from David R (Grandson of Resident) published on 7 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I have been thoroughly impressed with the standard of care provided within the care home. Whenever I have visited my granpa the facilities have always been exceptionally clean and there is a great community atmosphere within the home itself. The shared living room is always a hit with the residents and there are frequently fun activities to provide the residents with some social satisfaction. The staff are truly wonderful and go out of their way to help support both my granpa and me whenever I'm there so I can make the most of my time with him. With my granpa's condition it can be quite emotionally tiring when he is having a bad day but no matter the challenge the staff are always pleasant and approach everything with a smile. The carers build a great rapport with residents and family members alike.

My brother is a new resident here. The minute you walk in this beautiful light and airy home you are surrounded with love and care and respect, not just to residents but to families too.
There is loads going on ;activities, entertainment, little touches and lots of smiling faces. It's clear they really care.
Knowing my brother is safe and happy and treated with so much dignity gives me huge peace of mind. Every birthday is so special including my brother's first one.here. A special cake was made for him by the kitchen staff who we should not forget to give a mention to. My brother loves his meals and the food is delicious as I have joined him for lunch recently.

The recent trip to the farm which I volunteered was such a FUN DAY out for both - residents and carers ! Thank you to every single member of the team. You all are AMAZING.

I regularly visit my father-in-law at Dovecote Manor and I am very pleased with the home. I usually take my doggy in to see him and she is always very welcome; the front desk staff even have some treats for visiting doggies. The staff are always very welcoming and I never worry about the care my father-in-law is receiving. His room and the general area is always clean and tidy and I feel that he is treated with respect and courtesy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dovecote to others and indeed I have already done so.

The staff at Dovecote are friendly and welcoming. They've always been quick to respond to any queries and are eager to help residents and their families. They genuinely care for the residents and I feel my grandfather is treated with dignity and respect at all times. There is a lovely community atmosphere within Dovecote and the range of activities and events for residents is impressive. Although my grandfather does not tend to participate in the group activities, I'm grateful that he has the opportunity.

Always made to feel welcome whenever I visit. The staff are always approachable and have always assisted when requested. Dad is very comfortable and is well looked after in his room, which is kept spotlessly clean. The facilities overall are excellent, as well as the activities that are laid on for the residents. The staff are very good at communicating to the family and endeavour to address any concerns.

It's reassuring that dad is in a safe place and well cared for.

The Dovecote staff know my family member well and nothing is ever too much trouble for this lovely care team.
The Dovecote carers and team are well supported and led by the Care Home manager who ensures the highest quality care.
He is a visible and approachable leader and I can see how well respected he is by his team.
The housekeeping service including cleaning and laundry is of an excellent standard.
There are numerous recreational activities at Dovecote, either group or at the bedside. I really appreciate the photos / videos sent through to me.

Placing a loved one in a care home is a difficult decision, but knowing that they are safe and so well cared for makes such a difference. Thankyou Dovecote

As my Mother's dementia has advanced she has been treated with dignity and care. I am always kept informed of any concerns. I am made to feel welcome every time that I visit the home.

The home is well kept and although my Mother is now not able to participate there are many activities held in the home to stimulate and provide pleasure to the residents.

In October we needed to find 24 hour dementia care for my father urgently. Dovecote Manor Care Home was extremely responsive, efficient, helpful and kind in arranging for him to visit, assessing him and within a couple of days moving him in. The manager went beyond the expected call of duty in doing this and has been very supportive throughout this move. All the staff at the home are kind, professional, motivated and expert at caring for the residents. They always make us feel welcome to visit my father, and have been very sympathetic in helping us to deal with what has been a difficult time for us. The atmosphere at the home is cheerful and it is always very clean and well decorated and maintained. The rooms are a good size and the home is comfortable. My father enjoys the food, which always looks appetising. The activities seem very good and well planned. There is a beautiful little garden, now lit up spectacularly for Christmas. I feel very lucky that my dad is living there.

Our mum is so happy living here. The comfort and care are exceptional. The activities are brilliant and my mum joins in all of them. The meals are nutritious and appetising.
