The Lodge provides short term respite care and longer term support for up to 36 Residents, including support for people living with a dementia.

There are 18 bedrooms on the ground floor and 18 on the first floor. Access to the 1st floor can be gained via a lift or via the main staircase. There are lounge, dining room and bathroom facilities on each floor.

The property is a large detached building with a car park and enclosed gardens to the rear. The Home is situated close to the beach of Walton-On-The-Naze and in easy access of local amenities.

I came over from Canada to visit my mother. My mother has been here since 2020. I have always been very satisfied with the care that she is receiving here. During my visit, the staff have been absolutely wonderful making me and my wife very welcome and knowing that my mother is safe and happy here at
The Lodge. All the staff are amazing and so kind to us and to mum. Thank you very much.

I was invited to a Valentine's Tea Party at The Lodge yesterday. Mum and I had such a lovely time and it was so nice to see how much effort the staff had made to ensure both residents and visitors enjoyed themselves. What a thoughtful gesture to give all the lady residents a red rose and the gents some
biscuits. Mum is 101 now and I shall always treasure these happy times I spend with her, knowing she is content and so well looked after, thanks to the very caring staff at The Lodge.

Wonderful garden party BBQ for residents and family. The staff go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy and looked after. The staff at The Lodge are amazing and care for the residents like their own family. There is always a wonderful atmosphere at The Lodge, nothing is too much trouble no

My friend is very happy in this home he has been here over a year and he said it is just like being at home. He joins in a lot of games and keeps fit. He likes to colour in adult colouring books, it keeps his mind active.

Very helpful staff who care so much for the residents. Very clean rooms, first class. All good no down points. Only negative point is the background music doesn't relate to the age of the residents. It should be more in line with the age of the residents.

Mum, aged 97, was an occasional resident at The Lodge for four years (respite stays). She became a full-time resident in November 2023 on discharge from hospital after treatment for a broken hip. Her care since November has been exemplary with the staff displaying kindness, care and patience towards
her. Medical issues have been handled in cooperation with the community nurse and she is carefully monitored for any signs of problems

Residents seem well looked after - my friend certainly is. She always comments on how good the food, activities and staff are. The decor is bright and inviting. Always offered tea/coffee plus biscuits. They celebrate all events with lovely decorations and food.

My father is 97 with dementia and despite private carers when at home he refused point blank for 6 years to shower or go outside, so spent all his time sitting in his chair staring at the TV. The difference in my father is startling due to being at The Lodge. The level of care extended to him is faultless.
He is clean, showers regularly, is groomed by the carers and has his nails and hair cut. Clothes are clean and fresh and smell fresh. 3 meals a day cooked by the chef from fresh, not frozen. Activities each morning and afternoon. Birthdays are celebrated with presents, birthday care prepared by the chef and often entertainment and a buffet. Dad's room is ensuite, cleaned every day, and nicely furnished. The garden is pretty and wheelchair-friendly. A lovely friendly atmosphere exists between staff and residents. Dad loves singing and is encouraged to sing.

Every time I have visited my family member they have always been happy and relaxed. They have always got a carer around if any issues occur or if any assistance is needed. Very friendly staff. It's lovely to see the staff and service users bonding during all the activities they have going on too. I
would 100% recommend this home and couldn't fault it at all.
