We have been so pleased with the care Dad received at Maitland House. Every aspect of the care we hoped for was provided and more. Dad quickly settled, thanks to the family atmosphere, amazing carers and professionally organised home. It was so heart warming to see how Dad's comfort and wellbeing were
so important to every member of staff and to see that he was valued as a member of the Maitland family. Dad has now sadly passed, but his passing was managed with such care and dignity and with such kind support for us, for which we will always be so grateful.
Reply from Richard Lain-Smith, Head of Marketing and Social Media at Maitland HouseThank you so much for taking the time to pass on your kind feedback about the care and support your Dad received at Maitland House and we're sorry for your loss.

Mum came to Spring Lodge when she was no longer safe at home. The experience of putting her into a home was an emotional one for both of us. The manager has excellent rapport with residents and relatives and I feel assured that mum is cared for with kindness and dignity. I visit most days and observe
much kindness and care for residents from staff. The home is warm, very clean and comfortable. All staff are caring and friendly, they engage with residents and reassure them. The meals are cooked on the premises and of good quality, home made cakes appears every day at tea time. There are some activities bingo, dominos and crafts. The Christmas party was lovely. Health issues are quickly addressed and I am informed of all changes.

My mother was lovingly looked after by the team at the Lodge for the last few years of her life until she died when 98 years old. Some of the carers treated her as if she was their own mother.
They knew what food she was able to eat and nothing was too much trouble for Jung the cook to serve mum
the food she liked. Many of the staff did all they could to help her with her meal times when eating became difficult for her.
They were very gentle and caring , and she appreciated very much the way Regina cut her finger nails.
The atmosphere in the home was so peaceful, the family were always made welcome whenever we visited and served tea and biscuits .

Mum was a full time resident for around 15 months following a fall and loss of mobility. She had been an occasional resident for several years before. We visited without prior notice once or twice a month and invariably found her well presented, warm and content. The staff were unfailingly attentive
to her, being alert to her declining faculties. The care and genuine affection shown towards her was most reassuring.

As a friend of someone who lives here, I've always been really impressed with how caring and kind everyone is. Every time I visit, I'm made to feel welcome, and there's such a warm, friendly atmosphere throughout the home.

The staff are lovely, always smiling, and genuinely care about the people

they look after. The place is always clean and comfortable, and it really feels more like a community than a care home. It's very reassuring to see how well everyone is treated.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home. A big thank you to all the staff for everything you do - it really shows

Originally Mum came to the Haven for respite care but soon made up her mind to stay as a permanent resident as she felt so comfortable and relaxed here and all her needs are taken care of. Her family and friends are all made equally welcome by both the staff and her fellow residents. The staff listen
and act on any of our concerns. Moving into a care home is a big decision but the warm, professional, happy atmosphere at the Haven has helped to make that decision easier.
