My Dads health had declined and we decided a care home was the best place for him.
We were recommended The Gables through the hospital discharge process.
On meeting the manager she put all my concerns over moving him from his own home. I had no idea how care homes worked or how much care the carers
give.
He moved in as a very weak, quite depressed person.
A few weeks later the care he receives has built him up, and his mood is so much brighter.
I am so grateful for the kind caring people who work there.
Reply from Richard Lain-Smith, Head of Marketing and Social Media at The GablesThank you for your lovely, kind comments about the care and support your Dad has received at The Gables. We will pass on your comments to the team at the home.

Where can I start??? My Mum became a resident here in April . I was so worried about how she would settle in, I needn't have worried. Every aspect of the home is impeccable. Its clean, tidy, lovely food but the staff make a Care Home. I have had some dealings with Care Homes in the past for various
elderly family members and you will have the odd person who will stand out and care... Not at Taverham Grove they all care from the most Senior postions to the Junior Staff.
They call us by name when we visit , we feel so at home there. We can visit whenever we want, no restrictions. As soon as I walked in there after seeing three others I knew this was the one and I made the right choice.
I have to say a massive thank you to Janine, Layla and Sarah (Mgr) who have gone above and beyond over the last fortnight when Mum has been so poorly.
I cannot recommend this home highly enough. They are all Angels !!
Reply from Richard Lain-Smith, Head of Marketing and Social Media at Taverham GroveThank you for this glowing review and comments about the care and support provided at Taverham Grove - we will ensure they are passed onto the staff.

My mother came to Park House in April 2023, followed by my father in November of that year. All of the staff here have taken wonderful care of them both.
We sadly lost my mum in October 2024, and the staff went out of their way to support our whole family during and after that time.
Dad gets lots
of socialisation, outings and activities.

I have been blown away by the care and attention given to my mum during her time at Thomas Tarwell. Whilst she wasnt keen to move out of her own home, the carers were always so respectful of her need for privacy and so patient in their understanding of all her quirky needs as she became less able to
cope on her own. She formed meaningful, loving relationships with many of the Team which helped us to trust that this was the right move for her. As her family all live far from Norwich, this was always such a comfort. In her last hours before passing, the Team were exceptional - ensuring that she was never alone and that she felt loved. We couldn't have asked for more.

My 96 year old Mum has a warm, comfortable room with en-suite; there is also a very pretty garden which she enjoys too. Staff are warm, caring and continue to meet Mum's care needs in a way that is responsive, respectful and timely. I have always found a happy atmosphere in the home when I visit.
Since
the beginning of the year there has been an up-tick in the choice of menu from which residents are now asked to choose, and in the diversity and frequency of activities, which include board games, quizzes, music, card games, creative activities which are especially impressive at Christmas, Easter, Halloween etc. Residents who can, are supported to go for walks, and trips to local library and theatre. It's great to see photos of these, shared with consent, on the social media page. I should like to give credit and thanks to the management, to include the Activities Programme, the housekeeping team and kitchen team, and team of day and night carers.
