My dad has now been in the Gables for almost a month, I have found the care home very helpful in every aspect from the initial care to his arrival at the home was very stress free. He was getting more and more frail living on his own and then a 2 weeks in hospital, and now he has settled into his new
life, room and the routine of the home. He is happy and there is a lot of activities for him to join in with. I am very happy with his care and staff are wonderful.

When I finally accepted that my mum needed far more help & support than I was able to give I contacted the Gables to discuss. The manager could not have been more helpful and supportive. The whole process was sorted so efficiently and fast. The moment my mum arrived I knew I had made the right decision.
The manager had suggested I take clothing etc, in the previous day so that Mum was straight in and 'at home' immediately. Not only the manager the whole team are amazing. So caring and pleasant. Nothing is too much trouble.

Since my father-in-law moved into The Gables he has settled in well after a week or two getting used to his new home which is completely understandable. Every member of staff from management, carers, maintenance and kitchen staff treat the residents with respect and compassion. The food is very good
and varied and often follows themes like St Patricks Day, Easter etc. Friends and family are always welcomed and the staff are always smiling. The Gables is my father-in-law's new home.

The Gables Care Home is more like a hotel than a residential home. The building is spotless and the staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble from the management staff through to the maintenance man. My father is 98 years old and I feel absolutely convinced The Gables is the right place for him.
Long may it continue.

Friend recommended The Gables as given outstanding care to their parent for past 2 years. Father-in-law transferred to The Gables from hospital having fallen several times and now unable to keep self safe at home. Professional and caring staff worked diligently to ensure a smooth transition for him.
He has settled very well, comfortable room, friendly staff and a relief to us knowing he has support on hand 24/7 as needed. Heartwarming that he now has the opportunity to interact with more people, at 91, having been widowed 10 years. Thank you all staff, your kindness and care is very much appreciated.

I have been visiting The Gables care home for well over a year with PAT (Pets at Therapy) dog, Willow. I can honestly say it has been the most uplifting and happy experience, not just for my dog but for me too. Seeing the joy on the residents faces when they stoke Willow. The staff have always made

My Mother-in-law has been in The Gables since June 2023. The home is maintained to a very high standard in all areas and is very clean throughout. Meals are excellent with a good choice on the menu each day. The activity/entertainment is also especially good and very well organised.
Overall an excellent

Well what can I say, called to them to help my mum as she was struggling and from the very beginning the care team have gone above and beyond any care we would have expected.
Right from the start the team have been exceptionally kind and caring.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks particularly
to the 3 members of staff for making her comfortable in her final days.
I would highly recommend this home.
Thanks all.

We had an excellent experience with The Gables in Chatteris where both my parents lived for 6 weeks. The quality of care they received was excellent and all the staff were kind, compassionate and attentive, and always ready to help with their needs. They took the time to get to know my parents personally,
which made a real difference in how comfortable and happy they felt. The rooms were comfortable, homely, bright, and clean and the common areas were welcoming and encouraged social interaction among residents. Meals were nutritious, varied and tailored to the individual and could be taken in their room or in the dining area. Communication with the staff was seamless. They kept us informed about my parents' well-being and were always open to discussing their care plans or any concerns. I am deeply grateful for the exceptional care my parents received at The Gables. I highly recommend this care home to anyone seeking a nurturing and professional environment for their loved ones.

I cannot thank the manager and her team enough. They really go the extra mile. Even though my mum and dad's stay was relatively short the care and support was really excellent. The whole home has a lovely feel and is very homely. You worry about putting your parents into care but I can say honestly

This home was chosen by my mum online out of all the ones available in the area. We were very apprehensive about how Mum would settle after a few bad experiences in the past and feel so relieved that from day one Mum has not made a negative comment and remained the happy smiley Mum we know. This is
a testament to the care home and all it has to offer. Excellent all around.

After reading reviews for this care home, I took the plunge and got in touch for some respite care for my father-in-law whilst we go on holiday. From our first point of contact with the manager and a staff member, my mind was made up, and booked him in. He wasn't keen to go but once he visited he felt
reassured. I can honestly say that they are so very kind to the residents who live there but also reassuring to us too, especially when my father-in-law had a fall within 2 days of being there, which was just an unfortunate accident that could have happened at home, but was handled extremely well and organised the district nurse for helping his wound to heal.
When I collected him, he couldn't wait to tell me how well he had been treated, how the girls had helped him shower, and how the food had been wonderful and even mentioned the maintenance guy had come in to let him know when football was on and helped him to sort the right channel to watch it on.
Thank you.
