Overall Experience
My 96 year old Mum has a warm, comfortable room with en-suite; there is also a very pretty garden which she enjoys too. Staff are warm, caring and continue to meet Mum's care needs in a way that is responsive, respectful and timely. I have always found a happy atmosphere in the home when I visit.

Since the beginning of the year there has been an up-tick in the choice of menu from which residents are now asked to choose, and in the diversity and frequency of activities, which include board games, quizzes, music, card games, creative activities which are especially impressive at Christmas, Easter, Halloween etc. Residents who can, are supported to go for walks, and trips to local library and theatre. It's great to see photos of these, shared with consent, on the social media page. I should like to give credit and thanks to the management, to include the Activities Programme, the housekeeping team and kitchen team, and team of day and night carers.

My mother in law moved to Nightingale Lodge as an emergency measure in November 2025.
The care and understanding Judith was given was amazing. Because of this she has settled in and has come to accept that this is now her home.
The improvements made more recently are really good.
I now also follow on social media and see all of the fantastic activities and outings.

Judith is a different person thanks to the amazing care given to.

My parents both needed to move into care. On arrival the staff were welcoming and very friendly helping to settle them into a new and different environment. The food choices are excellent and the high standards of care given has enabled both parents to look and feel so much improved. There are a variety of activity for social and entertainment. Although it is early days since my parents arrival. I feel very confident and reassured they are receiving safe and compassionate care.

My mother needed a Care Home suddenly at the start of January. I cannot praise Sharon and the rest of the team here at Nightingale Lodge enough for making the transition to a Care Home so easy.
My mum looks so well now and is even starting to enjoy life again with the different activities on offer after losing her husband of many years. The food choices are many, varied and delicious with tasty snacks offered with cups of tea throughout the day.
It means a lot to my brother and I to know that our mum is now safe and happy with caring people there at the touch of a button should she need them.

Thank you.

I am a residents niece who has been very well cared for by your staff since 2021 and now aged 97. I would like to particularly express my gratitude to your manager at Hunstanton Nightingale Lodge as she finally retires. She has always been very patient, empathises well with residents and relatives and I expect staff. When my aunt is awake staff will take a mobile phone to her so we can chat. She appreciates opportunity to receive communion regularly, is given a choice of being in the bedroom or in the dining room and lounge. The garden and front always well tendered by an excellent maintenance man whose always helpful.

First impressions count for a lot and we were very impressed by the staff when we were shown around, it was obvious that all the staff showed great care of the residents no matter what their needs, we are convinced that we have found the perfect place for our uncle with plenty of activities and genuine care.

Mum became a resident at Nightingale Lodge a few months ago, and I have been impressed with the care she receives. I frequently stay for lunch, which really enhances the 'family' feel. It's good to chat with other residents too - mum enjoys this social aspect. Communication with senior management has been excellent; they always respond promptly to any queries. The manager is very visible, hands-on and actively engages with all residents, and I sense she wouldn't ask her staff to do anything she wasn't prepared to do herself! Thank you all so much for looking after mum.

Mum is settling into life at Nightingale Lodge very well, her start point being upset and disoriented. the manager and her staff ahve shown unfailing care, kindness and sensitivity in looking after Mum, helping her settle in. She now joins in with the activities like animal visits, word games, bingo and dancing. Mum is less anxious when I visit her now, being in the conservatory interacting with other residents; it is precious time to go and join her in her physical environment and chat in whichever direction the conversation goes. She also has a piano keyboard in her room, pictures and cushions from her home. All staff are welcoming and very hospitable - there is a lovely family feel there. We can visit at anytime in the conservatory, lounge or garden. Mum always looks fresh and nicely dressed, including her red scarf! I am so pleased that we chose Nightingale Lodge. Vascular dementia is a truly horrible condition; however I feel that Mum has the best care and quality of life that she can enjoy and we are all welcome to visit her as her family. Thank you.

My sister has been at Nightingale Lodge for the past 18 months or so and I have been impressed with the standard of conditions and care provided. She has been quite poorly at times and had to be hospitalized but was always relieved when she could be returned to the home with the caring staff to welcome her back.
There is always a cheerful greeting from staff when I visit which I do fairly frequently and an update on my sister's condition.

Unfortunately, she has been in bed for weeks and unable to enjoy the entertainment and activities in the lounge area but she is comfortable in her clean, tidy room, watching the television. Many thanks to all the staff at this lovely home.

Food is usually of poor quality and often overcooked and therefore inedible. Eyedrops should be administered 3 times daily. This doesn't always happen. More experienced staff is needed. Public areas ie:- the dining room and the visitor's lounge are tastefully decorated and always flowers in the entrance hall.

My husband is nicely cared for, treated well by a caring staff. Good choice of meals, given options daily. Entertainment is varied and activity organisers are employed. Comfortable surroundings. I am welcome to visit anytime and I join in the exercises to music or singing. If my husband wishes a while to himself then he has his comfortable room to be in but also encouraged to join in in the main lounge.

From the moment my mum moved into the care home, the staff were amazing. Everyone was warm and friendly both to her and to us as a family. We had to move her from a previous home as we were worried about her. It has been such a turbulent time as she passed away last week but every single member of staff showed her and us love and compassion. They were able to meet her needs despite the challenges presented by a dementia diagnosis. They did all they could for Mummy and the immediate family, offering us refreshments and emotional support throughout the last 48 hours. A friendly and warm care home.

Simply the best. The manager and her team at Nightingale Lodge give exemplary care and have looked after my mother exceptionally well over the past seven years. My mother has severe dementia and is immobile, needing turning two-hourly 24/7 which needs constant attention. They treat her with dignity and good humour and so well that she has kept physically healthy over a long period of incapacity.
