Nightingale Lodge

My dear elderly friend has been in the home since 09/2021. I am a retired matron and myself, managed care homes and would be proud to have been associated with Norfolk Lodge. I chose this home after viewing several, looking for friendliness and care and the minute the manager opened the door I knew I had found home for my friend. When the door opened I heard noise, laughing and music - perfect. My friend tells me every time that she is asked "I can't fault anything" and believe me if something was wrong, I would be told.

I can confirm my mother is kept very well indeed, all of her needs are extremely well cared for. She is very needy now and has to be hoisted each and every time she is toileted, in and out of bed and sat in her chair. The care home has gone beyond the call of duty in order to keep my mother in a care home and not hospitalised or in a dedicated nursing home.

My mother seems content where she is and seems bright when I see her, and eating ok, so her care must be working pretty well for her. The staff always seem helpful and kind.

My mum has lived at Nightingale Lodge for the last two years. I am still very satisfied with the management, staff and home. It is a reflection on the management to see so many regular faces among the staff. I feel my mum is in a safe place and is well cared for.

After spending four weeks as a trial period, I felt comfortable and decided to stay.

She looks clean and well when I visit and would recommend the care home to other people.

Assessed as outstanding by Care Quality Commission and I have the same opinion. Very experienced, reliable and conscientious manager and attentive, hard-working staff. Mothers health has actually improved since admission pre-Covid, thanks to attention by all staff go her care and wellbeing.

Our mother has been in Nightingale Lodge for 2 years this July. The home is run by an outstanding, highly efficient, responsive and understanding manager who leads an excellent team of carers and staff. They have done a remarkable job during Covid keeping all residents free from the virus, it has been an extremely hard time for both staff and residents as well as their families.

My mum has settled in much better than I anticipated and that is entirely down to all the lovely members of staff making her feel at home.

The visitor's room is comfy and clean. Mum seems happy and well cared for. The tests are carried out swiftly and we are welcomed into the visitor's room where Mum is ready waiting.

Our family is extremely happy with Nightingale Lodge. Our Mum has vascular dementia and is well looked after and cared for. The staff are like her extended family, and she is very safe, warm and well looked after there. It is a light and airy care home with a warm, happy feel about it. Cannot fault the care our Mum receives.

I cannot praise everyone at Nightingales Lodge enough for all they have done over the last year.

We are very happy that the Nightingale Lodge in Hunstantonemployes qualified nurses.

That being said, we are very happy with Mother's safety, health and care. I am confident that her health is better than a year ago because of good food and carers, therefore I feel Nightingale Lodge has been a good placement. Any queries or issues have been addressed immediately and we are confident she is in safe and caring hands.

During this pandemic (approximately 1 year) not only have I telephoned my mother up to 5 times per week, every call of approximately 10 minutes, has been responded to with kindness, consideration and willingness to help. Even management staff have afforded time to sit with Mum and supported at times of non-hearing or tiredness. Strict on isolation code care and attention to PPE has been key. Our family have high respect for the team efforts together with feedback. Very well done to the whole team.

Nightingale Lodge seems to be a well run and well-organised home, whose staff show genuine care, compassion and patience.

A very big thank you to all for your care and hard work looking after our loved ones throughout the past year, especially with the added challenges pf keeping Covid at bay. I have really appreciated all the photos, cards and poems to maintain contact and the weekly phone calls which has been both reassuring and a chance to discuss Mum's health and wellbeing. She has remained cheerful throughout and enjoyed joining in with some of the activities you have kindly arranged. I have felt more than happy to know that she is in your safekeeping. Thank you once again.

I am so grateful that my mother has been so well looked after throughout these anxious months of the pandemic. I have nothing but admiration for the wonderful team who have worked tirelessly to keep residents safe, warm and comfortable, well-fed and in good spirits. They are all so kind, warm and welcoming albeit at a distance these days.

These carers use a level of patience and understanding that is first class.
