My mother came to Park House in April 2023, followed by my father in November of that year. All of the staff here have taken wonderful care of them both.
We sadly lost my mum in October 2024, and the staff went out of their way to support our whole family during and after that time.
Dad gets lots
of socialisation, outings and activities.

I'm a resident at the home and I'm treated with respect and dignity, we have a variety of activities to do on a daily basis and often go out of the home to access the shops and restaurants, I was also taken down the sea front to see the car show.

My mum came to Park House under difficult circumstances (my dad was ill and no longer able to care for her). Maria and the whole team made Mum and me feel so welcome, and I knew as soon as we walked in it was a wonderful, caring and kind place. Mum settled in really well and loves having a laugh with
the staff! She always loves having a boogie when there's entertainment on! I would highly recommend Park House to anyone x

My wife has now been in Park House for two and a half years and although there was talk of her, about a year in, of moving her to another facility due to her deteriorating dementia. I am glad she did not move as she is settled at Park House now after being moved to a quieter room.

I thought this would be the best place for restbite for my husband for 1 week. Even though I thought the staff were very nice I had particularly asked for him to be taken out. My biggest disappointment was that the staff misled me by telling me that my husband was taken out twice. They told me he went
to the seafront and had coffee, my husband said that he was never asked if he wanted to go out. He stayed in the conservatory and did some activities. On one occasion he was found in his room and had a fall.
Reply from Richard Lain-Smith, Head of Marketing and Social Media at Park HouseThank you for your comments about your husband's recent stay at Park House. My mum moved to Park House in April as she wasn't able to return home after her stroke in February. I live overseas and when I went to visit mum in Park House, I could not have been more impressed.

The staff are very caring and loving and every person residing there is important to them. The politeness,

the friendliness and attention is one hundred percent perfect, not only to the residents but also to the family & friends visiting. Nothing is too much trouble.

Unfortunately my mother is now on 'End of life' care which is very sad but the staff still continue to go above & beyond with their caring natures. They all are a credit to Park House.

I'm so lucky that my mother chose Park House for her lasts months of her life.

Thankyou Park House

Mum is really happy at Park House. She has made friends and gets on very well with all the staff.
They like her too.
She enjoys the singing and trips to events, especially the Remembrance Day service and summer fireworks.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.895)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.895) out of 10 for Park House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 35 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 34 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.895 for Park House is calculated as follows: ( (390 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 419 Ratings = 4.895
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park House is based on 34 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2, which has been reached with 34 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
