I consider myself very fortunate to be given respite care at The Lodge Walton for 6 weeks, at first I thought the idea was scary but how wrong was I. The staff and I mean all the staff were fantastic to myself and every resident. The chef was amazing just like his food, entertainment was excellent and everyone was included. I was very happy in The Lodge and my last day was amazing, it was barbeque day and all the staff went out of their way to make it a success and I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you.

We are delighted with the care and respect our relative is shown by all the staff. She has settled into the routine and is thrilled with the diverse entertainment arranged by the staff. Our relative is 95 years old and comments frequently about the wonderful care she receives and cannot fault the environment and care.

Once again I give The Lodge a glowing reference.
Everything about the place is 5 star. The staff are friendly, it's excellently managed. The food is very good, cooked by the chef. Washing and ironing is also very good. They have lots of entertainment too.

Thank you for looking after the residents.

Mum moved into The Lodge in November 2022. After her initial anxiety, she has settled in well and is supported with care and understanding by the staff. She is enjoying the many activities that are run to keep the residents entertained and tells us the food is good. The staff are happy to discuss any concerns about Mum and welcome regular family visits.

We came for two weeks to see our mother. She has been in this care home for over two years. We have been unable to come and visit from Canada as covid-19 hit the world. At last, we are able to come and we are so happy with the management and all the staff. They are all kind and caring and Mum can have a good laugh with everyone. They made us very welcome and helped in every way they could, including giving us a whellchair to use every day. We are so thankful Mum is at this home.

Although my father only ended up spending 3 months at the Lodge, I can speak highly enough of the staff and treatment he received there. Having been unable to look after himself at home, Dad was extremely well looked after and cared for. He made friends and instantly felt at home at The Lodge. Even at the end of his life, the staff were fantastic towards my sister who was able to be with him, even in these testing COVID times, until the very end. The home is clean and well maintained, but it is the staff that make it.

My mother was extremely anti-care home and desperately did not want to leave her own home. However, unable to safely look after herself, care was the only option. At The Lodge, she has found a home from home. She has nothing but praise for the staff, loves the facilities and bed in her room, and enjoys the food. She has made friends and enjoys more social contact now than when she lived on her own.

From my point of view - the staff are friendly, caring and lovely, and have kept us updated on all the Covid changes, restrictions and developments as well as my mother's health - communication has been excellent; the rooms are spotless, and so are Mum's clothes; Covid and normal security are reassuring. We had heard good reports about The Lodge before she went there, and they were all true. It's reassuring to know she is happy, safe and being well cared for.

My mum has been at The Lodge Walton since October 2020. The manager and care team have been really supportive towards my mum, who can be challenging at times due to Dementia.
She always looks happy when we go to visit.

She is also clean and well looked after.

Mum has settled well since her transfer in March 2021. She is content with the facilities, food and support she gets day and night. The atmosphere is relaxed, and I have also been pleased with the response and support I have received from management and staff. My only request at this time is the WiFi signal is boosted to enable video calls in all parts of the site, including bedrooms, as this is an invaluable means of maintaining regular contact with loved ones.

My Aunt is very happy living at The Lodge. The staff are both caring and professional and the Home is run to a very high standard. Throughout the past year, under such challenging circumstances, they have continued to provide a safe environment for both residents and staff. They telephone each week with an update on my Aunt's general health and well being as I am vulnerable myself and unable to visit at the present time.

Staff are caring and treat everyone as individuals. Such a difficult year for everyone. What would make my mother-in-laws day would be to have her hair permed like she always did before lockdown. Could hairdressers be allowed back in? The home has coped very well during the lockdown.

I attended a virtual dementia tour organised by The Lodge. It was amazing and made me realise the difficulties people with dementia experience every day. It certainly opened my eyes and I learnt very quickly the best approaches when talking to people with dementia. It was a valuable course and I would recommend it to everyone. Thanks to the lady for inviting me to attend.

Mum was made to feel very welcome when she first arrived. The room is very comfortable and well appointed with a view outside. The biggest asset to the home is the staff who are friendly, caring, helpful and have a sense of humour. The manager has a hands-on approach and knows all the residents and their needs and requirements.

Recently refurbished, bright and cheery decor. Mum's room is small but comfortable with ensuite toilet and sink. Staff are friendly, personable and seem to genuinely have an interest in her care, although attention to her medical needs very occasionally overlooked. For instance, I visited her and discovered a rash on her back, yet it was said to me that it had not been noticed when she was washed and dressed. The daily programme of quality entertainment provided. A good hairdresser who visits weekly and has an in-house salon. Plenty of food and refreshments available at all times and never too much trouble if requested. Overall, I recommend this establishment. It has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very good with the residents.
