I find this care home a very professional and friendly place to be. The staff are always on hand and happy to help wherever it is needed. The care, food, cleanliness and well being is, in my opinion, outstanding and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or have a relative become a resident.

Generally, after 3 years my mother (92) is comfortable, safe and well looked after. The hardest part is getting her to accept she needs help. Being not very mobile and now partially sighted makes her life difficult but the staff are good and kind when called upon. Very good manager as well.

The home is always warm and welcoming. It is maintained to a good standard. The staff seem to have the wellbeing of the residents at the heart of what they do. As a visitor, I'm always welcomed and usually offered a drink.

I have been in this home for over 2 years now and I am very happy to be here. The staff and management are very kind and always willing to help. They are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I regard them as my extended family. The home is comfortable and welcoming. We also have some very
good entertainment and even get taken out.

When I go to pick up my sister the carers are always pleasant and interested in where we are going and has my sister got her medication to take out (tablet). The home itself is very bright and clean. It never smells unsavoury and the residents are clean and well cared for. Other residents talk to visitors
and seem happy in their environment.

My aunt has been a resident of Spring Lodge for approximately 3 months. This is her third try at residential care. Spring Lodge is a wonderful caring home. The manager and carers are dedicated to making the residents happy, all residents are treated with dignity. My aunt certainly does not want to leave,
ever! The home is spotless, comfortable and the food is fantastic. I cannot praise this home highly enough. We attended the Christmas party recently, which was a delight.

I would recommend spring Lodge to anyone in need of care. The staff are so kind and caring. My husband is happy and content. I have no worries at all for his care. I have just returned after six weeks in Australia and my husband is looking so well, content and happy. I have no worries leaving his care
at any time in the care of the staff.

My great Nan is a resident at Spring lodge. It was her 97th birthday and all the staff brought a cake in with candles, cards and flowers for her. The staff are so friendly and caring and offered us refreshments. We're made welcome at whatever time we turn up. She looks so well.
The house and garden
is immaculate. She enjoys the entertainment which brightens up her day. Also has her hair done weekly. At 17 I'm thinking about booking in soon!

My grandma took residence in Spring Lodge 1 year ago. Although she was reluctant to go into a care home initially, she soon settled in. The staff are all lovely and always have a friendly manner. As a visitor I am always greeted politely and offered a drink. The home always smells fresh and clean and
grandma reports the food is good. They even stock her own favourite bread. Her room is a good size and is kept clean and tidy. I'm pleased she is being cared for so well.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.208)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.208) out of 10 for Spring Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.833 for Spring Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (41 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.833
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.375 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Spring Lodge is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 20 registered maximum number of service users is 4, which has been reached with 4 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
