My dad has been a resident since mid January after his wife of 40 years passed away. My dad was grieving and not used to being alone, the staff a management at Stanway Green Lodge have been fantastic with him, talking to him and settling him in to his new home. It is a warm and welcoming environment with lots of activities to do. The staff are friendly, kind and caring and I couldn't wish for better place for my dad to be. He likes the food and the freedom of being able to choose to join in or sit in his room. A massive thank you to Aniket and all the staff for taking the time and patience with dad.

Dad would say he is very content in the home. He enjoys the meals and likes the freedom to watch his own TV in his room or join in the special activities. He says the staff are all very good and helpful. I would certainly echo the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff.

You are treated very well and the staff are all easy to get on with, an excellent rapport with them all to have a laugh and a joke with. Couldn't ask for a better room, it has all I need. I could not recommend the home any higher and would advise anyone to come here, it is a lovely home. The owner/manager couldn't be more helpful, and his compassion is beyond measure as he is so caring and willing to help. I do not want to move ever, as I love it here.

My 87 year old Mother-in-Law spent 2 months at Stanway Green Lodge for respite care. We always found a particular staff member and his team to be kind and and supportive to both mother-in-law, myself and my son. Mother-in-law improved both mentally and physically after her stay, having had a long spell in hospital. She was encouraged to participate in regular social activities and did socialise with some of the other residents. If in future we need to find a permanent home we would not hesitate in choosing Stanway Green Lodge.

Mum joined the other residents mid June. We can not believe how well she settled in within the 1st week. Mum has quite a friendly, outgoing character, despite forgetting things.
The staff are lovely, friendly, and always there to answer any concerns you may have.
In July, they held a circus themed garden afternoon, great fun for both residents and guests, all funds raised for charity.
The home is family run, with only 30 residents, I think this has made things easier for mum to settle in.
A big thank you to all the staff, and Aniket, who has kept us updated when required following doctors visits.

Many thanks

My grandmother moved into Stanway Green Lodge in June following a lengthy stay in hospital and sadly passed away in July following several further hospital admissions.

I initially made contact with Stanway Green Lodge whilst my grandmother was in hospital. I found the process of viewing the home, discussing her care needs through to planning her discharge from hospital was made less stressful due to the support offered by the care home manager and staff.

My grandmother was very pleased with her room which looked out towards the side garden, it was a bright, quiet room. The flexible visiting hours allowed all the family to visit around working hours and we always found the staff to be friendly and polite. The care home manager was very conscious that my grandmother's care needs were being met and was always happy to speak with outside agencies to make sure this happened. During our visits we found the care home to have a calm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

The change in Mum is reassuring to see after only 10 days. She is settling well with the support, kindness and professionalism shown to her by all the staff. Mum is enjoying the variety of activities and is making friends quickly. The home is a warm environment, with two lovely lounges and a dining room. She also has a lovely spacious room if she needs a bit of space. Most importantly of all, Mum doesn't feel lonely anymore and looks happy and stimulated.

Mum had been a resident here for 18 months before she sadly passed away on 5th October. The staff had always been so kind and caring to mum. The manager was always on hand to offer any help or advice. Particularly in the latter weeks of Mum's life when we needed assistance when dealing with her medical issues. We will always be very grateful for that. Not only were the staff so kind to mum they were fantastic with us too. I visited quite a lot and I would always be welcomed with a warm smile. We would highly recommend this care home. Thank you everyone at Stanway Green Lodge.

I'm incredibly pleased with the exceptional care my aunt receives at Stanway Green Lodge. From the start, it was clear this isn't just a care facility but a true home filled with warmth and compassion. The staff are consistently friendly, attentive, and deeply committed to her well-being. Communication is excellent, keeping me informed and involved in her care.
The home is always clean, calm, and welcoming, and my aunt's room overlooks a peaceful garden where she enjoys watching birds and squirrels. The environment is warm and comfortable, and there are always engaging activities to keep her entertained.

I particularly appreciate the flexible visiting hours, allowing me to see her easily outside of mealtimes, which makes our time together even more special. Knowing she is safe, happy, and well cared for gives me great peace of mind. I highly recommend Stanway Green Lodge to anyone looking for a nurturing and compassionate care home.

Stanway Lodge was recommended by a friend and was delighted to find it as warm and welcoming as she had said. My Aunt is very happy here and feels safe and so well looked after. She is even joining in activities which she has always struggled with a testimony to how comfortable she is living here.

My mother has been cared for very well at Stanway Green Lodge. All staff are friendly and warm and the manager/owner is very conscious of her needs, discussing with medical teams to find the best way to care for her. Communication is excellent between the home and myself and staff are always generous with their time. The environment is always calm, clean and welcoming and there are plenty of activities happening. My mother loves the therapy dog who visits weekly and also the school visits by local children. I am very pleased and relieved that my mother is in such a caring setting.

My mum has been residing at Stanway Green Lodge since December 2023. It is clean and very homely.
Mum is looked after very well by the staff and they are very friendly.
She has settled in very well and having her own furniture has helped the transition.
There are a lot of activities which are advertised just inside the entrance to the home.
A petting dog visits regularly which my mum enjoys very much.
The gardens are lovely and colourful and my mum is lucky enough to have a room that overlooks them.

Management and the staff are approachable and take good care of my mum. The manager is always there and very hands on which is nice to see and is very welcoming.

Our aunt was in the hospital and moved to a local care home but was not happy. Stanway Green Lodge was recommended by neighbours and friends and as soon as we visited we immediately got the sense of a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere from all the staff we met. Auntie enjoys the food and the company but she has also been able to have meals in her room when she hasn't felt well. We have been able to bring in many of her possessions from her home which has helped her to settle in.

The manager was very understanding when Auntie was struggling to decide if this was the place where she wanted to stay. She was allowed time and not pressured into making a decision which was very helpful and she is now settled and safe and pleased to be cared for.

We moved Dad into Stanway Green Lodge in February 2023. Dad had been used to his independence, but he was no longer able to look after himself, which was a worry for me and his friends in Colchester. All members of staff treated Dad with dignity, kindness and care. They were approachable and listened to our concerns. Sadly Dad became unwell and passed away in April 2023. Although I live some way from Colchester, I was reassured knowing that Dad was being given excellent care. He was nursed at Stanway Green Lodge for his last few weeks, and I was so grateful that he didn’t have to go to hospital. It was a comfort to know that he wasn’t alone when he passed away.

Many thanks to all the team.

If you want a tremendous care home for your relative - look no further!
The management and staff are excellent; they treat you like a friend.
The care received from all the staff is exceptional. Everyone is treated with patience, respect, dignity, and understanding.
They take the time to get to know everyone as an individual and not just another elderly person with dementia and other health problems. Communication is excellent, and you are always made to feel welcome when visiting from the minute you walk into the reception.
There is a full activity programme, and you can keep up with events and news on their social media pages. The food is always of high quality, the dining rooms and corridors are all bright and clean, and the environment inside and out is accessible and stimulating.

I always have peace of mind when I leave my dad after visiting, knowing that he is in safe hands.

Mum had a short stay in this small and friendly home where she participated in the range of activities which improved her general mobility and well being. Unfortunately, her health took a turn for the worst and after a short spell in hospital, where Mum’s condition was defined as terminal. She returned to the home where the staff ensured her comfort and dignity until she, unfortunately, passed away. The staff communicated with us on all aspects of her care, health and progress and were available to us at all times. We cannot express our gratitude for her care and attention enough.

I would not recommend anyone send loved ones here. That is all I can say without breaking the guidelines on what to post. Disgusted by the management and resulting "care". We had sleepless nights knowing a family member was here, it should be the opposite.
