After a respite stay, I was very happy when my father became a permanent resident in the home. The manager is extremely helpful and approachable both to myself and my father. The staff are caring and cheerful. The room is comfortable, spacious and is kept very clean. Food at the home is of an excellent standard. My father quickly settled in and is very content at the home.

My Mother has only been at Stanway Green Lodge for just over 2 months but has settled in really well. The staff have made her very welcome and treat her with dignity and respect.
There is a very nice feel about the Home and it is very welcoming. There is a pretty garden to sit in in the summer.
There are different activities that you can participate if you wish most afternoons.

I would recommend Stanway Green Lodge Care Home to anyone.

Stanway Green Lodge cared for my mother for respite while my husband and I went away.
The staff were very helpful in trying to integrate her into their community allowing me to go away with a feeling that she would be well cared for.
In the first week she was there I visited the home many times and always felt very welcome and found the residents looked well cared for and the appearance of the home was always clean and well run.
Although my mother was reluctant to join in the activities, she was encouraged to do so by the staff and seemed to enjoy it to the level she could.
She said the meals were nice and that the staff were kind to her and they kept me informed on how she was getting on day by by day, even whilst I was away.
My mother was nervous about going in but the staff were kind and attentive to her and I felt that Stanway Green was the best place for her.

I would have no reservations about putting her in again even if she comes to need full time care.

My Mother has been a resident of Stanway Green Lodge for just over a year. She is happy there and gets on well with the other residents.
The staff are caring and genuinely interested in the resident's welfare and arrange a variety of activities to pass the time. During a recent bout of illness I found my mother was treated professionally and sensitively.

My mother's room is bright and airy and makes my mother feel comfortable.

My Great Aunt has been very settled since moving to the home and I believe the one on one daily care and activity has helped slow down the progression of her mixed dementia. The staff and management are very good and keep us regularly updated as to how our Aunt is doing and if there are any problems/queries. The activities that the residents get involved in are great and keep everyone stimulated. The food always seems to be very good and when we ask my Aunt if she has enjoyed her meal she always say's she has and she does enjoy her food. The home is kept clean and warm and has a friendly atmosphere and my family all feel that our aunt is very safe and cared for there. She is happy and so are we.

Mother stayed at Stanway Green Lodge for respite care. She then went back home but sadly it was soon apparent that she was unable to cope on her own. Mother asked if she could return to SGL and she has now been a resident for 9 months. During this time of gradual adjustment she has become much more contented and less worried mainly due to the friendly, kind and caring staff at the home. Nothing seems too much trouble, Mum likes her light and sunny room. There is a range of activities and opportunities to chat with other residents too. I feel very confident that if there were to be a problem if would be dealt with swiftly and sensitively by the managers.
The home is in a quiet leafy area with a nice garden. There is a calm homely atmosphere when you enter and you are greeted with a smile.

I also feel that the approachable management try to enhance the lives of the residents as much as they can.

I am very happy with Mum's care and treatment. She can be a bit demanding sometimes and I feel that the staff cope with this very well. I have found that any queries are dealt with promptly and communication is good.

I find the home to be friendly and they do try to involve Mum with the various activities but she can find it hard to socialise and does not always want to participate.

My cousin has been cared for at Stanway Green Lodge since August 2014 to the present time. I live away from the Colchester area where my cousin has lived for much of her adult life, and it's comforting to know that she is getting excellent care and nutrition together with a range of activities to take part in.

My mother went to Stanway Green Lodge initially for respite care. It soon became clear that she needed the kind of full time care that the home could provide. The staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and caring over a very difficult period of adjustment for my mother and my family. They have responded promptly to all her needs and concerns and offered helpful suggestions for improving her quality of life. Nothing is too much trouble. The environment is clean, tidy and very well presented inside and outside. The staff offer a wide range of interesting activities throughout the year. A relaxed and happy atmosphere has been created. It is clear that the home is there for the residents and the residents are 'at home'.

If you are looking for up front frills and a fancy reception area, this is probably not the home for you, but if your priority is excellent care, a clean, well run home, a gentle, respectful attitude to residents, easy access to management and any problems sorted swiftly, then Stanway Green Lodge would be a good choice.

It took us about 30 minutes during our initial impromptu visit to choose Stanway Green for our mother, after seeing about 8 homes ranging from palatial to quite simply unacceptable and we have never in the three years she has been there regretted our choice. The owner runs a happy home and the girls who work there are caring and kind, they helped to make our mother's transition at an advanced age from her own flat to Stanway Green seamless.

My mother is extremely happy in this residential home. She has been there for 17 months and it has felt like home from home. She has been given as much independence, respect and privacy as possible.

The staff are warm and friendly and the atmosphere is always cheerful. Any requests have been implemented and nothing is too much trouble. The management are always approachable and make time to listen. New activities are always being introduced and the management are keen to integrate residents into the local community wherever possible.

The one thing about Stanway Green Lodge is no odours meet you at the door as is the case with a lot of care homes. The home is set in nice grounds with ample car parking. The décor is good and well maintained. The residents all look scrupulously clean whatever time of day you visit. The rooms are a nice size and kept clean.

The staff are always friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The managers are extremely helpful and are also in evidence throughout the day and they interact well with their residents. They are very approachable and nothing is too much trouble. I have been in many care homes over the last few years and I have to say this would be my No.1 choice when my time comes to enter one!
