Mum moved to Engleburn in May 2025 and then after a while moved in to Foxholes
From the first day the staff were amazing and really understood Mum's needs. We received regular updates in a calm and respectful manner
Each and every member of staff made us feel so welcome and supported us at all times
with their kindness
Unfortunately Mum passed away in December 2025 but we can honestly say that she had the best and happy times while she was at Engleburn - we will always be truly grateful
We can't recommendEngleburn enough - your loved one will be looked after so well and treated as part of the Engleburn family
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnSuch lovely word and such a pleasure to have played a small part in making life easier for you all. Mum was a very welcomed part of Engleburn and missed dearly. Take care x

My mum has been a resident for almost 5 years. Sadly she passed away very recently. I can't thank the staff enough for their care and kindness whilst mum was there. She was extremely happy. The way they all treated us leading up to mum's passing was without doubt brilliant. At some points there
were 16 of us as we're a large family but the staff constantly brought us drinks and continued caring for mum. After she passed two lovely carers dressed her and then presented her with a beautiful single rose. Such empathy. We as a family can only praise the staff and give them our sincere heartfelt thanks for everything.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThis brings tears to my eyes. Looking after mum for 5 years brought us many lovely memories and many laughs. The relationship with her lovely family made it so much easier she was very lucky to have such a lovely family. The pleasure indeed was all ours. She will be sadly missed by all in the home. Thank you for all of your support and for your lovely words. x

I visited my father between Christmas and the New Year as he was very poorly and had taken a turn for the worse.
The Engleburn care home staff were wonderful and caring. I spent seven hours at my father's bedside over two days and witnessed first hand the care and attention the staff gave my father,
making sure he was comfortable, turning him regularly, cleaning him and feeding him. All the staff I met had a cheefull and happy demeanour and seemed very competent and capable. The home seems very efficiently run, professionally and calmly managed and well maintained.
In all my visits over the past 4 years I have only ever seen happy and cheerful staff and well cared for and contented residents. There always seems to be something happening to engage the residents such as games, activities and outings. My father is now doing better and is out of his bed. A big thank you to all the Engleburn team!
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnLovely is all I can say. We have an amazing team and I am very humbled to hear such lovely words. We know this is the care expected for all of our residents at Engleburn, but it is so lovely to hear someone else's views as well. Thank you and the pleasure is all ours.

My mum came into Engleburn for respite care after a traumatic and emotional few years living with us. It was a hard thing to do but I can honestly say that from the start the staff at Engelburn have been empathic, courteous, patient and above all kind.my mum has dementia and she was immediately welcomed
and made comfortable. She has settled very well, vocalising often how kind everyone is. I am greatly relieved and so grateful.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnAmazing. As well as looking after our lovely residents, its just as important to make life easier for and to support all our relatives and friends who play such a big part in our residents lives. You play such an important part in their lives and it is really important to build those relationships as well.
Thank you for your lovely words. x

My dad is a permanent resident here in the Foxholes unit as he has advanced dementia. The staff are incredible, so patient and caring and really understand my dad's needs even though he can't communicate. They keep me updated at all times on any changes to his care or condition and I am extremely pleased
with the service they provide. I would recommend Engleburn to anyone and I trust them to look after my dad in the best way possible.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThank you for your kind words. They really are a beautiful team of staff who care so much for all of their residents. It really makes life easier when we have such a lovely, thoughtful and inclusive family. Thank you x

My wife has been in Engleburn with advanced dementia for over 3 1/2 years. The dedication of the staff never ceases to amaze me. Not only is Christine treated with unfailing dignity, but I am welcomed and included as a member of the team.
It was our diamond wedding in August, and the management funded
a party for close relatives/friends in their lovely cafe, for which they would take no payment.
Although sadly, Christine understood nothing of the occasion, our guests all left suitably impressed.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnAbsolutely amazing, what can I respond to those lovely words. The pleasure is all ours and Christine is lucky to have such a beautiful family xx

My Mum is now into her 6th year at Engleburn in Foxholes and I would just like to say a huge thank you to all for the wonderful care my Mum is receiving. There have been one or two health scares but they have looked after her so well she has overcome. The team are excellent at keeping me up to date
with progress by telephone and the quarterly reviews are very productive in discussing any needs Mum may have. Obviously over the time Mum has been there, her needs have changed but it has been dealt with seamlessly for her. The activities they do with residents are great and they have lots of outings and Mum thoroughly enjoys herself. They really have a great Christmas time too. The Summer Garden party is great too and is always so well attended by relatives. I like the feel of Engleburn as it is a cosy home and would have no hesitation in recommending this Care Home. Once again, thank you.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThank you for your kind words. Working with both Mum and yourself is a pleasure and she is lucky to have such a lovely caring daughter. Six years is a long time and you have probably seen some changes, all for the better I hope. Here's to many more years working together xx

Considering it was a distressing time of transition from home to hospital, and then a care home. Engleburn staff have helped my husband and myself through this period and have shown such compassion and professionalism throughout. He has settled well and I have peace of mind and enjoy my visits, especially
going to the cafe in the lovely grounds. My husband has been at Engleburn for nearly six months now. Thank you all.

My husband has been with Engleburn now for 2 months. Having a loved one taken into a care home is such a stress, having to pass all their needs over to strangers. Engleburn never made either of us feel like that, far from it, more like family, they are kind to my husband who has had and is having several
health issues, but to myself I have been finding it stressful leaving him, emotions very high. They have been kind explaining I can talk to them anytime. Thank you Engleburn, you're all great.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnOh thank you so much for your kind comments. The pleasure is honestly ours. It is a privilege to be able to help both of you and I hope we can alleviate a bit of your stress. We are always here for anything you need or to help in any way.

My mum was sadly only with Engleburn for 5 months but in that short space of time, she absolutely loved it there. The love and care she received from the staff was amazing all so caring and full of love for her. We loved our weekly trips to the cafe for a cheeky coffee and a doughnut! Can’t thank you
all enough for looking after my mum so well
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThank you. Honestly, we are so honoured to be able to play a small part in the love and care of your mum.

I am very happy with Engleburn Care Home. Generally, my cousin has settled in very well, and I can only praise the staff for their experience and treatment of her gradually deteriorating vascular dementia. She has a light and airy room, with patio doors onto a pleasant courtyard. The separate tearoom
in the garden has been a real boon and is a great asset to Engleburn.
I would thoroughly recommend Engleburn.
Thank you to all the staff.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThank you for your kind words. Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.821) out of 10 for Engleburn is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.821 for Engleburn is calculated as follows: ( (195 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 234 Ratings = 4.821
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Engleburn is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
