You really couldn't ask for a better place for a loved one to be at, the care is next to none and nothing ever seems a problem for a member of your family, With constantly being told of information . Always keeping everyone in a fun, warm and interacted environment . The care home is always very clean
and tidy with a lovely little cafe in the grounds where you can go and have a nice coffee and cake. Can't speak highly enough of Engleburn. They literally take the stress out of your parent being in care.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThank you so much, I absolutely love to hear this. Thats exactly what we want to do "take the stress away"

The Foxholes wing of Engleburn Care Home is excellent. It is a small unit for residents with dementia and I think it is outstanding. The Head of Care is very much aware of each of the resident's needs. She is unfailingly cheerful and always on hand. As I live 150 miles away, I can only visit once a
month, but the Head of Care, who is a Senior Nurse, regularly emails me with updates on my cousin's health and her progress within the unit. The activities that are arranged every day are engaging and interesting. The ratio of carers to residents is higher than expected, and they are kind and cheerful. My cousin was quite poorly when she transferred from the main Engleburn Care Home to FOXHOLES in November. She has made incredible progress physically since then, which I think is down to the brilliant standard of care in FOXHOLES.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThank you Denise for your kind words. We have definitely had to work around some personality Quirks and this has been interesting. In the 4 years that Y has been with us we have enjoyed working so closely with you and seeing how much you care for her. Foxholes definitely became the correct smaller unit for Y and she has thrived with their love and care. Thank you xx

As I live in Sweden and the only next of kin it was very important to find the right care home for my brother . I couldn't be happier with the care he receives, the caring staff and management are very compassionate and professional. This is of course is a great comfort for me as I live so far away
and can only visit a couple of times a year, knowing my brother is in safe hands .
It's a beautiful home with its own cafe in the grounds.
I would highly recommend It to anyone looking for quality care.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThank you. Yes you live a long way away but are always ready and able to discuss any issues and keep in touch with the team.
We can generally make any challenges with distance or time work.
Its lovely to work with you and care for your brother xx

Following a very difficult year coping with my mums dementia symptoms, we were delighted to be offered respite at Engleburn.
Mum settled in so well, she stayed and she has been so well cared for that we could not be happier.
We are very grateful for the kindness care my mum receives, and does truly
feel like her home.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThats amazing we definitely strive for this to be exactly that " her home from home"
Just recently we thought very hard about a one sentence strap line to sum up what we want for Engleburn and it was very similar.
It was Where life continues to be lived

Currently both my parents are residents of Engleburn - my Father with advance Alzheimer's and my Mother with severe dementia. My Father has been in for over 18 months and my Mother for a year. I have been immensly impressed with the level of professionalism shown by the wonderful people that run the
extremely complicated administration processes involved in this. This is only matched by the amazing care taken by the teams that look after and care for the residents in the home. One of the things that really stands out for me is that I don't need to make an appointment to visit my parents, I just turn up and they are always beautifully turned out, washed, dressed and very well fed.
Putting a loved one into a care home is never an easy decision but the team at Engleburn make, what can be a desperately distressing processes for all concerned, as smooth and empathetically as possible. I would recommend this establish to any who sought my opinion.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThank you honestly the pleasure is all ours. We agree it is a very difficult decision when loved ones require care and if we can make this even the littlest bit easier then that is our aim. They may be residents in our home but they have been your loving parents for a lot longer and we really want you to have as much input and say as possible. After all you know them best. They are lucky to have such a kind and caring son and think the world of you xx

I need not have worried how my partner would settle after moving from another care home. From day one it was clear that all the staff at Engleburn are extremely kind, caring and compassionate and his response to those who care for him has been of great comfort to me at this difficult time.
There is
a wide variety of activities and the team ensures that my partner is included in as many as possible.
The tea room in the grounds is a bonus and there is a well-tended allotment and garden with resident ducks!
Staff are always ready to deal with any of my queries or concerns and I am promptly updated with any care issues.
I feel welcomed as part of the Engleburn family and that means a lot.
Thank you!
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnWe absolutely welcome you as part of the Engleburn family too. For us its as much about supporting loved ones as the residents. Care is a team effort and we never think that we have the monopoly on care. It is lovely that you join in with and enjoy all of the activities possible. xx

Very happy with the care that my Wife has received. My Wife loves the staff that looks after her and tells me that they treat her with kindness and respect. She enjoys the activities that she gets involved in, especially the walking club. She looks forward to mealtimes and looks really healthy.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThank you. That's lovely to hear. Kindness and respect what more could we ask for.
We certainly have lots of activities each day and no time to be bored. The walking club has up to 15 residents attending now with relatives attending too. A great deal of fun is had. xx

My sister and I could not be happier or more grateful to the staff at Engleburn for the care, respect and kindness they show our mum, Jen.

There is always a warmth when we go to visit and the staff great us with a smile. The space is inviting, clean, tidy and always decorated with a particular theme

for the time of year. Our mum is always well presented and her room immaculate.

My sister and I do not live locally but we have always felt that she couldn't be in a better more caring or safe environment. This give us such piece of mind.

There is excellent provision on-site for those more able; a beautiful garden in the centre of the home; a dining room that looks like a hotel restaurant; and a separate tearoom and gardens that makes you feel like you've popped out to a garden centre. We couldn't recommend Engleburn highly enough. Thank you!

Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThank you thats really lovely. It makes all the difference when we also have lovely families to work with.

Dad has been a resident at Engleburn since December 2022 and although reluctant to move there due to him wanting to maintain his independence it was the only option due to ongoing fraility and constant falls. I can honestly say that if it had not been for care, compassion, patience and kindness shown
by the team at Engleburn he would not have seen his 100th birthday which he celebrated in style 2 weeks ago, They organised a party to celebrate his achievement- welcoming family members and organising a group of ladies singing songs from the past. It was truly magical. Dad considers the staff as friends and they honestly go beyond what you would expect to cater for his needs. He is encouraged to try things that he would not have considered previously- the highlight being a bike ride in the New Forest!! I appreciate that residents all have different needs but am confident through my family's experience that the team at
Engleburn encourage their residents to live their best possible life.
Reply from Tracey Holland, Manager at EngleburnThank you for your kind words. Celebrated in style definitely sums up his 100th birthday it was lovely and lovely to be able to celebrate with all of his family too. He really does enjoy lots of activities, What 99 year old man gets to go on a tandem bicycle ride every week through the forest with a stop at the ice cream shop en-route. Clearly living his best life XX

My mother became a resident of Engleburn care home about 3 months ago.
She has been treated with the utmost care and dignity since she arrived . The carers quickly picked up Mums likes and dislikes.
The whole team are so friendly. This includes everyone who works at the home.
The home has tearooms
in the grounds and Mum and I enjoyed sitting in the lovely surroundings enjoying the sun.
Mum is at the end of her life now and the support for her and myself has been exemplary. The staff have cared for me in such a compassionate way.
I am truly thankful that Mum came to Engleburn care home. I could not have wished for anywhere better.

A very caring team that have given me peace of mind. They call me immediately with any concerns. He has dementia, which can be trying for all. They are great with him.
When he arrived his clothes were taken away, washed, ironed, labelled and returned. His pictures etc were put up in his room.
The
premises is well thought through, with a pretend pub, pub garden, beautiful coffee shop on the grounds where family can take residents. It's great.
My stepfather and his dog are very well looked after.
I cant find a fault.

Our family were very concerned that our dad had moved away from his home town. However, the care, respect, and overall experience at Engleburn is 2nd to none. We cannot fault it in any way. Our dad always looks clean, tidy and happy, which is all we want for Dad. We recommend Engleburn on social media

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.818)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.818) out of 10 for Engleburn is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 37 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.818 for Engleburn is calculated as follows: ( (360 Excellents x 5) + (71 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 435 Ratings = 4.818
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Engleburn is based on 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
