This is an outstanding Care Home. The staff are thoughtful, sensitive and caring - qualities that are especially important to me as I live a long way from the Home. They communicate well with me and arrange podiatry and through them, I have arranged hairdressing and newspapers. It is definitely a five-star facility.

In November 2025 my father was unfortunately diagnosed with dementia, after spending over a month in hospital, my father moved to Forest Edge Care Home, after having such a quick decline in health and losing mental capacity we were uncertain how Dad would adapt to his new surroundings. My father settled in within days/weeks. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, over the past few months my father's condition has been a rollercoaster of emotions and life changing experiences but the home have been there every step of the way to support my Dad and us as a family. I cannot praise the management and staff enough for looking after my father and his best interests. The home has made several changes to accommodate my father's needs. The set up with having the hairdresser, podiatrist and GP coming in on a regular basis, family days and events. Nothing isn't too much trouble for them.

My (late) Dad went to Forest Edge Care Home having been in hospital for 9 weeks.
I can not praise them enough for their care, professionalism & dedication.
They truly are wonderful.
My dad was always in clean clothes, his room was very tidy & clean, he had nutritious meals, and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff on duty.

They were proactive in contacting emergency care if they had any concerns and always kept us up to date amd informed. They displayed true love and dignity to my father in his final hours, and this is something we will always be so grateful for.

Our dad settled almost instantly at Forest Edge and within a couple of days his anxious behaviours previously reported by his last care home, seemed to disappear. The staff warmly welcome us in and we go to see Dad every day so see the challenging moments as well as the good. The team are definitely hardworking and consistently kind and respectful to all. They got to know dad quickly and there is a lot to be said about a smaller environment with staff who truly care. There is a choice of two communal lounges and a lovely garden; parking has never been an issue. Visiting entertainment is a highlight along with the odd trip out. It's clean and some rooms have garden access.

More trips out and about would be the icing on the cake for our dad. Overall, we feel the decision to trust dad's care with Forest Edge has been a good one. We've experienced 'luxury, cooperate' versions of care and this holds it own and being smaller, might actually achieve more for your loved one.

From the moment my mother arrived, just after covid, I was continually impressed by the compassion, professionalism, and genuine kindness shown by every member of your team. The patience, dignity, and respect you extended to her - and the thoughtful support you offered me - went far beyond what I could ever have hoped for.

Although my mother may not have been fully aware of the remarkable kindness she received, I witnessed it frequently, and it brought me immense comfort. I am profoundly grateful for everything you did for her, and I wish to express my heartfelt thanks and admiration to you all.

On seeing other care homes I knew Forest Edge would be perfect getting a warm feeling from the place, staff and residents on my initial visit unlike others I had seen.
My mum took a while to settle due to her dementia and was a little challenging at times. Staff throughout her 14 months there were impeccable in their care, patience and treatment of her and all residents.
I would frequently attend at different times and was always welcomed which made it feel like I was just visiting mum at her home.
They accommodated her in many ways from always ensuring she was brought downstairs with the others, to having her hair done weekly and spending quality time with her. Entertainment was also arranged alongside other activities.

All areas of the home was always clean but most important was the lovely staff and management all without exception were compassionate and caring which made all the difference especially in her final weeks at the home.

Friendly staff and management. Easy to communicate with. I feel that residents are well looked after and individual's needs are taken care of. Both staff and management are very accommodating and happy to answer queries via phone, emails or face to face. They are happy to go over and beyond to meet the needs of the residents.

My dad seems quite happy to be there.
All staff are helpful and friendly.
Dad also likes to sit in the garden, he finds it relaxing listening to the birds.

Dad also likes doing activities, but would probably like making more craft things.

Thank you for your feedback. It is really appreciated. Due to the HCC care home framework, rooms are categorised, and this was 1 of only 2 options at the time. If you are not satisfied with dad's room alternatives can be discussed, or we would welcome suggestions to make improvements. Likewise, if...

First-class care in all aspects is provided in a warm and welcoming environment. Imbued with an inclusive and informed approach, the staff are professional, thoughtful, and caring. Concerns are addressed courteously and proficiently and liaison with medical and other practioners is effective. I am most happy that the person for whom I have power of attorney is looked after so well.

My review is only formed from visits to a close/old friend who is a male resident. The overall impression of the care home is a friendly place where the staff are always very friendly, polite and always helpful. There is a fairly large front lounge and rear dining room/lounge where food is served, but residents can choose to eat in their rooms. The rooms are basic but have all the necessary facilities, all with call boxes for assistance or help. Beds and bedding could be of slightly better quality. The corridors however can be a little daunting and can confuse residents who suffer from dementia. Generally good overall.

My mum moved into Forest Edge Care home in April 2024, and after only being there a short time mum settled in quickly. Whenever I go to visit I'm met by a friendly member of staff who are always happy to answer any questions I have. The home is very clean and tidy and my mum enjoys the range of home-cooked meals provided. I always see the staff walking around engaging with the residents, and taking the time to listen to them too.

My mum moved to Forest Edge Care Home in December 2023. She is a lot happier there than she was in her previous care home. The staff are friendly and attentive and cater to all of Mum's needs. They are also very happy to answer any questions that I may have regarding her care. Forest Edge is spotlessly clean and tidy. The meals served are homecooked and enjoyed by the residents. There are frequent activities offered to residents and Mum enjoys the entertainment

Overall, Forest Edge is friendly and welcoming and I am very pleased that Mum is comfortable and happy in her surroundings.

Since moving to Forest Edge my wife has been much happier and well cared for. The staff have always been helpful and friendly and she enjoys their company. She is happy with her room with a garden view and the facilities provided.

Sometimes it is not easy to get through on the phone and the response to messages left on the phone can be a little slow.

I could not be happier with the care supplied by Forest Edge Care Home. My initial concern was for the safety of my mother because of her condition. This having been totally satisfied I was then concerned with the care and attention that would be given. They have continued to ensure she is well looked after and emphasis given to her unsteadiness adopting a policy of ensuring she is monitored at all times. Attention given to her mobility has ensured that she is not now in a nursing home and where I feel she would not be with us still.

Overall I am extremely happy with the attention, care and support that has continued to be given to my mother during her time at this home.

On the whole, we are happy with the care home.
Our family member engages with the staff as best she can (owing to her individual needs) and she is settled and happy there.
On personal observations, the care home is kept warm, clean and tidy and the team are always very welcoming.

I feel a bit 'on the outside' with regard to the general operation of the care home and wonder if a regular newsletter, at either monthly/quarterly intervals, could be available (via email or in paper form) to allow us more insight into the activities/outings/events our family member interacts with.

Since my aunt became a resident at Forest Edge the staff have been so helpful in looking after her and accommodating her various needs despite her being a somewhat feisty and sometimes aggressive character.
The management always have time to talk to the family and are most resourceful in dealing with my aunt’s needs given her Alzheimer’s.

We have seen the meals served to our aunt and cannot fault the quality. They have also been most helpful in providing meals specifically tailored to our aunt’s requests.

No issues with the care home. Seem to look after my mum very well.
