Hazeldene Residential Care Home

The manager/director are very approachable.

In general, the home has a pleasant and caring atmosphere.

They really understand the needs of dementia sufferers.

My mother has been cared for at Hazeldene Residential Care Home for more than four years now. She is well cared for. I visit regularly and consider the home to be first class in every respect.

My mother has been a resident at Hazeldene for one year and all her needs have been met in a kind, caring environment. The staff have, from the outset, spent considerable time to get to know her and used their skill in dealing with advanced dementia to overcome resistance, ensuring a very high standard of personal hygiene. She is always well dressed in clean clothes when we visit. The high standard of cleanliness also applies to the house, which always has a fresh, clean atmosphere. The sign says 'a home for retired gentlefolk' and all the staff treat the residents with great respect, meeting that strapline.

My Mother-in-Law has been at Hazeldene for 2 months now. She never wanted to leave her own home where she was not coping at all. The staff here have settled her in very well and she is very happy in the care home. She enjoys the food, the company of the other residents and the quizzes. Her family are relieved that she is now being well looked after and is safe and warm.

Most of the staff are helpful and friendly, but on a day when I needed to take my mother out in a wheelchair (she cannot walk) a few of the staff were reluctant to get the ramp to put over the step on the front door and one said I can wheel her over the step. I told her I cannot but they did bring the ramp and put it over the step.

Her medical needs are looked after very well and the upkeep and cleanliness of the home is well looked after by the diligent, happy staff. The family are kept informed between visits and on visits of any changes in her health care.

My father went into Hazeldene this year and the staff have been and are extremely caring. They really do care for the residents in such a lovely way.

Staff are friendly and inviting. They provide care and call for medical assistance when needed. The food is good. No complaints.

The staff at Hazeldene are always very friendly and happy to answer any questions. Mum is always full of praise for the staff, saying "they treat me like a queen".

My husband is in this care home, has been for 3 years. He has dementia. I find it all very satisfactory, he is well looked after.

I have made many visits to my friend, at all times I have found the whole team, including the manager most helpful and courteous.

Mum required 24/7 care and company and she has excelled since moving into Hazeldene.

Only go to see mum once a week, it's like she is in good care, staff friendly, helpful, I think mum is in good hands at Hazeldene, mum is happy to be there. Overall a very good care home, keep up the good work, thanks.

I attended Hazeldene's summer party for residents and guests. It was wonderful to see the terrific atmosphere accompanying the day's Alice in Wonderland theme. The building is being, and has been, extensively, brightly and tastefully renovated. Staff are extremely welcoming, energetic, patient and attentive. Residents and guests certainly seemed to enjoy an afternoon packed with musical entertainment, costumes and hats, a lovely buffet, a fun raffle and heaps of singing and dancing. Even the weather rose to the occasion. A well-deserved success for a very hard-working and hugely caring outfit.
