For the first time in 4 years, we felt relaxed enough to go on a holiday knowing the care being provided is excellent and Mum was being well looked after and cared for.
I would highly recommend this home.
All the staff made what could have been such a difficult and stressful transition moving my mother from her home into Hunters Lodge into a stress-free move. They understood all of the family's worries and fears and took time to put us all at ease giving us confidence that my mother is now in safe, kind caring hands. My mother's dementia journey has been a swift rocky one and Hunters Lodge have always been ahead on continuously adjusting her care plan to suit her developing needs. Along with the great food, entertainment, garden area, hairdressing, extra services, immaculate cleanliness and laundry (and the odd party or two), this has been the perfect hotel for my mother to stay in.
Took my dad at very short notice as my mum was taken into hospital. Home is like a 5-star hotel food is exceptional and the care my dad received in the 5 weeks he was there was brilliant. Special mention to one of the activities ladies who hadn’t been there long herself but was fantastic with my dad. Only wished we could have afforded to keep my dad there but it was over our budget. Thank you to everybody who helped especially the manager who was great.
I was really concerned about my mum going into a care home, I was not sure if she would have settled. There was no need for my concerns as Hunters Lodge is a very friendly, warm, professional environment and my mum settled in without any problems. I can honestly say that the staff are attentive and always look into any little needs that my mum has. The head chef is one of the most friendly and happy members of staff and is always asking if I would like to join my mum with lunch, tea and birthday treats etc. When there is any health concerns regarding my mum, the staff always inform me of any changes to her medication or the need for a doctor visit. I am more than happy with the care that my mum receives from Hunters Lodge and all the staff. I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone that is thinking of this.
The choice to admit my godmother into this care home was very hard but I need not have feared. She has been there 15 months and her mind has deteriorated slowly however all through her care she has been respected and well cared for. She is entertained when she wants it, loves the dancing and singing and most importantly eats well. She is happy and content and the staff regularly call with updates on any issues. In health incidents I have been kept in the loop and she tells me how happy she is there. What more can I ask? I would recommend Hunters Lodge to anyone considering dementia care.
The manager went above and beyond trying to admit my mother as an emergency admission. My mother was accepted (mum had dementia) and within two hours we had her in a room. Not just a room - a five star suite. Staff and management could not do enough to make my mother feel relaxed and comfortable. She has tea, juice, biscuits and a ham sandwich to greet her in her new room. Everything was handled efficiently, calmly and with care, understanding and love. The staff were cheerful and merry. The residents were content and relaxed. This home is a dream. Someone pinch me!
For my husband to go into care was a big decision for me, fortunately, I chose the right place for him to spend his last days.
I cannot praise Hunters Lodge enough for taking care of my husband, who has advanced Alzheimers. He has been in their care for eighteen months now and the attention and care they give him is outstanding. From the nurses, care staff, domestic staff and chefs is so lovely to see, nothing is too much trouble for them. The management are very approachable and explain every need or problem with me. Thank you Hunters Lodge, you are the best!
Since Auntie has been at Hunters Lodge, visiting has been slightly limited due to COVID 19 restrictions but the staff have done all they can to make visits possible in the form of garden visits, which we have really appreciated. We have also been able to video call Auntie which has enabled not only close-by family and friends, but also those who live some distance away. We have loved to hear about the activities that Auntie takes part in and the newsletter allows us to see photos of these which we love.
Mum has been at Hunters Lodge for 10 months and has settled in well, she enjoys her food and there is a good variety. She has a clean and comfortable room. I have been very impressed with the level of care, they keep us informed of any changes in her medication and her general welfare. The staff are very friendly and show love and respect.
My mother has been a resident since July 2012. She has been very well cared for throughout this time. The staff are friendly and helpful and very patient with residents. They take care to ensure that medical support is available when necessary.
My dad has received the ultimate care and attention from all the staff since moving there nearly 2 years ago. Since Christmas dad has, unfortunately, had an increase in falls the last one resulting in a fractured hip and hospitalisation and surgery. He has been quite poorly since then and has had one further admission to hospital. The care he has received from Hunters Lodge has been outstanding and of a high quality. The standard of care is excellent and all staff are exceptionally dedicated, conscientious and caring. I have always been kept up to date with changes to dad's care and any concerns. It's been a very difficult year for everyone there during the pandemic but this has never detracted from the fantastic care and support that dad has received. A huge well done and thank you to all the lovely staff for looking after my dad so well.
My granddad was cared for at Hunters Lodge and the care received was excellent, all the staff were so friendly and he always seemed so well looked after. I couldn't imagine him anywhere else, it's been difficult with the lockdown but they've always been so supportive and have kept us up to date with everything.
My Father-in-Law has been a resident at Hunters Lodge, Fareham, for approximately 2 and a half years. My wife and I chose this home after viewing several others across Hampshire as there was something about the home that made it stand out from the others we viewed. Sadly my Father-in-Law has just passed away (December 2020). We have been very glad that we chose Hunters Lodge for Dad's last years (he was nearly 96 when he passed away). Whilst the home has recently had a new extension added, the home itself has always been kept very clean and tidy (difficult in view of care needs of some residents). The team of staff have always been friendly and helpful and the management team pride themselves on having as consistent a team as possible (benefits residents with dementia). In retrospect, the same decision would be made again to choose Hunters Lodge for Dad. When Dad passed away, my sister-in-law said the staff couldn't have been kinder in dealing with her. An excellent home for a loved one!
My mother received excellent and compassionate care from everyone at Hunters Lodge. The staff are all very friendly and kept us up-to-date even though visiting wasn’t possible. Sincere thanks to everyone concerned.
My Grandad is probably loving his stay at Hunters Lodge but sadly he can't tell us because he has Alzheimer's. When I have visited he has been very well cared for. My grandma is very happy that he is staying there.
I have been a regular visitor to Hunters Lodge for the past couple of years. I have found all the staff caring and helpful. My friend often tells me how much she enjoys the food and looks forward to mealtimes. The staff are always on hand to make sure my friend and all residents are comfortable and happy. I would definitely recommend Hunters Lodge to family and friends.
Hunters Lodge is a great home. My grandma thrived in the environment and loved the staff as they were so caring and attentive. The food was excellent and was all freshly prepared which was an added bonus as I didn’t expect this. The managers were superb and knew my grandma so well with all her needs and treated her with such kindness. So grateful for the care they provided and would highly recommend to all.
We were very happy with the care of my late grandmother in the time she stayed at Hunters Lodge. She made some lovely friendships with other residents and the caring staff. Her bedroom was a safe haven for her and we were always welcomed to take personal belongings in. The food was of a very high standard and my grandmother, in particular, loved the tea trolley and biscuits between meals.
Hunters Lodge is such a welcoming home. The staff are always friendly, and residents are catered to all their needs with care. Beautiful looking home, attention to detail and many activities on offer to support the residents.
