Nicola joined Oaklands in 2014 as our Registered Manager and has become a familiar face for many in the Marchwood community, thanks to her ongoing efforts to ensure a strong relationship between the home and the local residents.
Nicola has an extensive background in the care sector, having started out in the industry at just 17 years old. Before moving to the New Forest with her family, Nicola also achieved a BSc degree in Welfare Studies from Newport University while working as a Manager at a care home in Wales.
Outside of work, Nicola can often be found taking part in charity work and raising awareness for dementia causes, having lost her own father to the illness. Nicola is also hugely family-orientated and loves listening to music and taking her dog, Bella, on long walks.
Samir is the Managing Director at Oaklands and works alongside his brother, Anish, to ensure the smooth running of the home. With over 20 years in the healthcare sector, Samir has always been passionate about making a difference in the industry, improving care standards and enhancing residents’ lives.
With a particular interest in technology, Samir helps Oaklands, as well as other care homes in the UK, adopt innovative solutions to improve person-centred care. This dedication to the industry is what led him to become the Founder and CEO of iCare Services, which revolutionises the care sector through technology.
Samir is the former Chair and now Executive Board Member of Hampshire Care Association – a not-for-profit organisation, which ensures care in Hampshire is of the highest standard and quality. Samir continues to play a role locally and nationally advocating for care providers.
Outside of work, Samir loves spending quality time with his family and can often be found training at the gym, playing rugby and enjoying boxing.
With his highly analytical mind and degree in Computer Engineering, Anish took on the role of Operations Director at Oaklands to ensure the best working environment and processes are in place.
Similar to his brother, Samir, Anish has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry and shares his passion for embracing technology in the care sector.
Before becoming Operation Director, Anish was also the registered manager at Oaklands for 5 years.
Outside of work, Anish is a very sociable individual, who values his strong family connections and friendships. He is also a keen traveller and is extremely fortunate to have visited several countries and continents.
Paige is a lovely, warm character, who you’ve probably found greeting you upon your arrival at Oaklands.
Paige has been with us for over four years and massively enjoys her job. Paige particularly loves the daily interaction with residents and visitors, as well as the wealth of knowledge she’s amassed in her role.
Outside of Oaklands, Paige can be found looking after her two pet rabbits and enjoying her newest hobby…sea fishing!
Mia Williams is a hardworking and committed member of the Oaklands team and since starting her career as a Carer in 2016, has progressed to Senior Carer, Senior Lead and is now Head of Care.
Initially, Mia came into care to look after her terminally ill father with her mother, but as she truly values how precious the later stages of life are, wanted to give something back to other families. Mia continues to be passionate and committed to the residents and their loved ones.
Mia has shown her dedication by completing her care certificate, followed by Levels 2, 3, and 4, and has nearly completed Level 5. Mia is also our medication champion.
Dave is an incredibly valued member of the Oaklands team and joined us in 2014 as a trained Chef before progressing to become our Head of Maintenance.
He is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents and staff and always works tirelessly to keep the home and gardens looking their best.
Dave is at the heart of everything that happens at Oaklands and goes above and beyond to make events special for residents. From playing the ‘Last Post’ on Remembrance Day to creating a memorable Jubilee Street Party by putting up beautiful decorations to celebrate Oaklands’ first event where friends, family, neighbours and staff could come together again since the pandemic started.
He is well-loved by our residents and always takes their opinions into account when carrying out his work and spends time helping new residents settle in, to make sure Oaklands always feels like home.
In his spare time, Dave recently walked seven marathons in seven days, raising lots of money to support a mental health charity. It just goes to show what a caring person he is, inside and outside of work!
Helen joined the Oaklands’ team as our Lifestyle Coordinator in 2024, bringing over 40 years of experience in organising events and activities. Born locally in the old Hythe Hospital, Helen has always loved being near the sea and the forest, which is why she’s never left the area. After many years working in various office roles, she decided it was time for a change and is now thrilled to be part of the Oaklands team.
Outside of work, Helen has been a Brownie leader for 39 years, sings with the ‘Goodnight Sweethearts’, a close harmony group, and is a member of the ‘Waterside Musical Society’. She also enjoys dressmaking, dancing, spending time in nature, and supporting local charities and events.
Helen is married with one son and two cats. Her organisational skills and passion for creating engaging activities are what make her such a valued part of our team. Helen hopes that the residents enjoy the activities she arranges and looks forward to spending quality time together.
