I feel so lucky to be well looked after. The staff are so caring, warm and friendly; they couldn't have done more for me! There is always someone to talk to when I need to as my husband has passed away, so I feel down often. They really are fantastic! I can't rate Oaklands high enough! I really feel at home! They have helped me so much. You can see how much they enjoy their work!

I was able to visit my mum today for the first time since she became a resident at Oaklands over 6 months ago. The manager and her staff went out of their way to make the visit successful within the current covid restrictions. I cannot thank them enough for the care they have shown mum, along with the rest of the team. Mum has been a reluctant resident, but she has nothing but praise for the staff. Thank you, we are very grateful for your care, compassion and patience.

We are delighted with the care Mum receives at Oaklands. During the Covid-19 period, the staff have been amazing. I ring every day and there is always someone willing to talk to me about how Mum is getting on, nothing is too much trouble for them. I can tell by the photographs that Mum is getting on well and is joining in with many of the activities which are on offer. During the lockdown, there have been so many special events and daily activities, all of which are stimulating the residents and giving them such positive experiences. I don’t know where the staff get their energy from.

The management made the decision early on to close Oaklands to visitors and they keep us informed of all changes, even offering video calls with the management where families are informed of all that is happening and can also ask questions. We as a family are very grateful to them for this. They have always had plenty of PPE and have rigorous procedures in place to keep residents and staff safe.

My dad has been at Oaklands since December 2019. Before Covid-19 he had settled well and enjoyed being taken out for afternoon tea or a visiting the hairdressers. He was also being stimulated with the various activities held in the home. Since the lockdown, the care has been amazing, activities within the home have continued and improved. You can call as much as you want and we are updated by phone, social media and have also had our first online meet. I have confidence that they are doing as much as they can to keep everyone safe.

From the moment I arrived to view the home, and all the way through I have found all members of staff to be nothing but kind, approachable and helpful.
Nothing is too much trouble for anyone and the home is always bright and clean.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Oaklands to anybody for the care of their relative.

Oaklands Rest Home is situated on the edge of the New Forest at Marchwood, it has easy parking. I found it to be focussed on the care and well-being of the residents. Furthermore, I find the staff caring and helpful with visitors welcome anytime. The room is bright and clean with ensuite and has a daily laundry service. It has a front lounge or peaceful quiet reading area upstairs which is accessed by a lift. A walk in bath/shower or wet room is available. The kitchen serves good food in the dining room front and rear - all in all, a nice place if a rest home is required.

Mum was with Oaklands only for a matter of weeks before she sadly passed away at 91 years of age. The staff were brilliant with mum in her final hours and treated her with dignity and care. Mum's move to Oaklands was seamless as her previous care home closed down at short notice.

After my Gran had a fall and needed more care, especially because of her Dementia, we needed a place quickly. The staff were all lovely and very helpful right from the very first visit to access the place. They sorted out her assessment very efficiently and she was very soon settled there.

The staff are always very helpful and seem very good with the residents and their varied needs.

Overall I find the staff pleasant, caring and mostly accommodating to my relative's needs.
there is much fun and laughter between the staff, residents and the resident's families etc.

I believe this is so important and it goes well alongside kindness and care generally.

Friendly and homely, with residents given choices in their daily lives.

Group and individual activities most days. These include exercises, quizzes, singing, arts and crafts, hairdressing and pampering sessions as well as gardening and caring for the resident chickens.

The staff know everyone well and are kind and caring, helping them retain dignity and individuality.

With a particular interest in technology, Samir helps Oaklands, as well as other care homes in the UK, adopt innovative solutions to improve person-centred care. This dedication to the industry is what led him to become the Founder and CEO of iCare Services, which revolutionises the care sector through technology.

Samir is the former Chair and now Executive Board Member of Hampshire Care Association – a not-for-profit organisation, which ensures care in Hampshire is of the highest standard and quality. Samir continues to play a role locally and nationally advocating for care providers.

Mia Williams is a hardworking and committed member of the Oaklands team and since starting her career as a Carer in 2016, has progressed to Senior Carer, Senior Lead and is now Head of Care.

Initially, Mia came into care to look after her terminally ill father with her mother, but as she truly values how precious the later stages of life are, wanted to give something back to other families. Mia continues to be passionate and committed to the residents and their loved ones.

Mia has shown her dedication by completing her care certificate, followed by Levels 2, 3, and 4, and has nearly completed Level 5. Mia is also our medication champion.

Dave is at the heart of everything that happens at Oaklands and goes above and beyond to make events special for residents. From playing the ‘Last Post’ on Remembrance Day to creating a memorable Jubilee Street Party by putting up beautiful decorations to celebrate Oaklands’ first event where friends, family, neighbours and staff could come together again since the pandemic started.

He is well-loved by our residents and always takes their opinions into account when carrying out his work and spends time helping new residents settle in, to make sure Oaklands always feels like home.

In his spare time, Dave recently walked seven marathons in seven days, raising lots of money to support a mental health charity. It just goes to show what a caring person he is, inside and outside of work!
