My mother has been in the care home now for nearly three months. I like the fact that it is a smaller family-run home in a house very like the house my parents had. The staff are, without exception, extremely kind, friendly and helpful. My mother likes to keep herself to herself; they encourage but respect her wishes. The food she forever praises, and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Her room is bright and airy, with good views over the gardens. If the time ever came, I would be pleased to spend my days there.
I would just like to thank the team for the care they provided for our mum for around 4 years. She didn't want to go into a "Home" but from the moment she arrived they won her over, she enjoyed the care, the company and the activities. Her last years were happy there. As her health declined and her care needs increased, they stuck with her until it was no longer possible. It wasn't just mum who benefitted from the care, we her children did also. We are incredibly thankful that she found such a warm safe place for the latter years of her life. Thank you guys and for anyone reading this I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this home if you want the personal touch and commitment for your loved one. They stuck with mum, nothing too much trouble or impossible until it did become impossible
Amazing staff. Amazing care and compassion, overall just brilliant at everything. Thank you.
It was not easy to manage the whole Covid epidemic, but there were no infections and relatives were kept informed and visited within the restrictions. A big thank you to Oak Mount.
Lovely welcome.
I really didn't want mum to go into a care home. However, it turned out to be the best thing for her, and for me. The staff at Oak Mount are so very friendly yet business-like. Everything they do for the residents is to the highest standard and I felt mum was in the safest hands I could possibly wish for. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere. Singing, arm-chair exercises, stimulating games, hairdressing and chiropody is organised for anyone wanting to participate. I was kept fully informed whenever mum had a health problem. All residents were happy, well dressed in clean clothes whenever I dropped in for a visit. Choice of meals freshly prepared in their own kitchen, and drinks and biscuits continually offered around. Mum's behaviour became very challenging towards the end of her stay at Oak Mount but the staff always attended to her needs without fail. If you have any doubts about using a care home for a loved one go and visit Oak Mount. You won't be disappointed.
Was lovely to be able to visit my friend in the dedicated visiting area. It felt very safe with the perspex screens, face masks and hand gels. It still felt relaxed and was an enjoyable experience for myself and the resident even with the restrictions in place. It is a lovely care home and the staff are always caring and welcoming.
A well run home with a lovely atmosphere set in well maintained and attractive grounds. The staff are welcoming, cheerful. caring and efficient
My wife and myself have found Oak Mount to be a very good place to live. Very good staff, food is very good, with a very relaxed feel.
We really like these residents and we would say that this review is largely fair, the only comment we would make is that sadly, due to Covid, a lot of our activities have been on hold. Hopefully to restart in the new year!
Mum spent her final couple of years at Oak Mount before sadly passing away this month (October 2020). I cannot praise this home and the staff who work there highly enough. They were always warm and welcoming and nothing was ever too much trouble. During mum’s final weeks the staff cared for her with kindness and compassion and worked hard to keep her as comfortable as possible. This home has a unique homely feel and that little bit of something special which you don’t get everywhere. I would wholeheartedly recommend Oak Mount.
Hats off to all the staff at Oak Mount.
I have been visiting my friend at the Care Home for many years and have always found it to be a happy and caring atmosphere. I love the staff, they are genuinely caring, going that extra mile for the residents.
The greatest care was taken in catering for her needs and we would recommend this care home to anyone looking for a 'family feeling' place for their relatives.
Mum was in the loving care of Oakmount for 3 years. The standard of care and compassion was second to none. Their residents always took top priority but they always kept the family well informed. All the carers tried to make it as much like home whilst making sure they were well cared for. Us as a family were always made welcome and food was always supplied when needed and the opportunity to share lunch or dinner with Mum.
We found the home very clean and well maintained. The staff are patient and caring. The level of communication to me about Mum's health was good.
Mum was at Oak Mount for three years and very well cared for.
Mum has been a resident for 3 years and in that time her care and wellbeing at all times has been exemplary. The staff are all well trained and really good with everyone. The only area for improvement could be to let the family know when the home is not open to visitors due to illness - this has happened to me twice and would save a trip.
Sadly my dad passed away recently, but I can’t thank Oak Mount enough for making his last 2 years a very happy 2 years for him. I will miss going to the home visiting as part of my life.
I would recommend Oak Mount to anyone.
Oak Mount is a lovely comfortable home surrounded by gardens and wonderful trees. The atmosphere is always welcoming, friendly and there is a lot of laughs. I am impressed with how clean and well cared for Mom's room is and the whole house. Mom always looks beautiful. The quality of care is excellent. Every effort has been made to make Mom feel at home. Mom moving here has not changed the quality of time I spent with her at all which reflects so well on the kind of loving atmosphere that is nurtured there.
A friend of my parents' is currently an extremely happy resident at this lovely care home - so well looked after and such friendly staff, I would have no hesitation recommending Oak Mount to my nearest and dearest.
I visit my Nan regularly at Oak Mount and I have always been very impressed. Nan is very happy here (we didn't expect her to adjust and settle in so quickly), and I think this is down to the excellent staff and facilities. The staff are always very friendly and professional when I visit, the home is very clean and Nans room is a very good size. I would not hesitate in recommending Oak Mount to anyone considering care for a loved one.
