The Old Raven House care home is a 'home from home' for residents. it has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are so caring and attentive. There are lots of activities and entertainment with live singers for residents to sing along to. The food always looks
Thank you so much for this lovely review. It is one of our main aims to make Old Raven House a home from home.
My mum has lived at Old Raven House since December 2023 and I can't imagine a better place for her to be. The staff are so caring and kind to mum, and also to us as her family. She has a lovely bright room facing the garden, which suits her very well. Old Raven House feels like a family environment, with familiar faces and lots of laughter. I feel very grateful to the Old Raven team for taking such care of my mum.
Thank you so much for this very lovely review. We really appreciate it.
I can't put into words how grateful I am that Old Raven House agreed to take mum. Her behaviour when she was admitted was so difficult, she was trying to escape & she wouldn't settle, always wanting "to go home". I felt so guilty but I can honestly say the staff at this home have been absolutely phenomenal. They have never judged me, never made me feel inadequate for "putting mum in a home" & they genuinely care about mum and me. Fast forward 17 months & with time, patience & care mum now sees her room as "home". On top of all this there is a packed programme of activities, scrummy home cooked food & the home itself never smells & is always clean.
I would recommend ORH to anyone.
Thank you so much for this amazing review, Charlotte. You have captured our vision of what we always hope and aim to be as a home. We are so happy that you and Mum have had such a positive experience.
The staff at Old Raven House work so hard to care for our loved ones. The home is always, clean and rooms tidy. There is a vast selection of activities and events provided for residents if they choose to participate. I feel very thankful for the kindness and care shown to my mum by the Old Raven team.
Thank you so much for this lovely review, Wendy. We really do appreciate it.
I am generally well satisfied with the care which my wife receives at Old Raven House. The staff display dedication and patience in their work.
Thank you so much for this review, Roger. We really appreciate it
The staff at this care home are very lovely & great at what they do. The manager Anne is a fabulous manager who is extremely kind & attentive to the residents needs & their family members. The food here is great & both the chef's (Dotty & the other man-sorry I can't remember his name) are amazing cooks. I cannot fault the food because it's amazing & they are both great at knowing & remembering the residents who have food allergies which is a huge bonus. If you have any problems then Anne will try her best to get it sorted out, sometimes there are staffing issues (if an illness is going around) which makes it harder for the staff that are in by increasing their workload but they all seem to manage this as best as they can. My mum has been here for a long time now (since 2021) & yes there have been a couple of issues during her time here but all of these were rectified quickly & I wouldn't want or trust anyone else to look after her except The Old Raven House team.
Thank you so much for this review, Nicola. We really appreciate it
Such a lovely caring home. The staff are all amazing, so caring, taking time building relationships with mum & ensuring she is listened to & cared for fully. Everyone is so helpful, understanding & friendly. There is always lots for residents to do if they wish to participate, with families fully involved. We could not wish for a better place for mum to live.
Thank you for such a lovely review, Tessa, we really appreciate it.
My wife has been coming here for respite breaks over a number of years. The staff are warm and friendly and she has always been cared for in the highest manner. I love the mix of the historical and modern facilities as well as the gardens. It's all so much nicer than the impersonal new care homes that are springing up.
Thank you so much for this Lovely review, Phil. We really appreciate you taking the time.
In September 2024 due to having Vascular Dementia, my Mum moved to Old Raven House as she could no longer live safely on her own. The team at Old Raven were amazing at settling her into her new home. Mum was encouraged to join in with activities whilst still retaining her independence to make her own decisions. Mum was very content. The team at Old Raven House are like a family. The care and compassion they give the residents and their families is outstanding. I will be forever grateful for their kindness to both Mum and I. The team gave me so much support when my Mum was passing away. They fed me, checked in on me and hugged me when I needed it, just like family x
Thank you so much for this very lovely review, Claire. It means so much. We will all miss your lovely Mum.
Thank you to everyone, I am so grateful for this beautiful home for Mum, knowing she is safe and well cared for.
Thank you so much for this lovely review, Julia. It means so much to us to receive your feedback!
I feel so relaxed about my husband being at the OR just knowing he is well cared for I can now enjoy his company as his wife not his career. The staff and management are so good at keeping me informed of his needs and care.
Thank you so much for this lovely review! We always aim to put our residents at the centre of everything we do, and to know that you feel so comfortable with your husband being cared for at Old Raven makes us all very happy.
Mum moved to Old Raven in August 2022 having moved from Wiltshire. We couldn't have chosen a better home for Mum. The love, knowledge, expertise, dedication, and friendship were amazing. They looked after Mum, encouraged her, and supported her without fail for almost two years until sadly she passed away in June this year. They were professional to the end supporting the family and helping look after Mum on her way. Thank you, Old Raven. Forever grateful and in our hearts.
Thank you so much for this lovely review, Karen, we were all so fond of Mum and miss her still.
They are like one big family and are so attentive to everyone’s needs.
They make it a happy environment to be in at all times.
The entertainment is fantastic and the food always looks delicious.
My husband has been staying there since last November and he always seems content and happy with the care he receives. I cannot rate this particular Care Home enough, it is truly amazing.
Thank you so much for this lovely review. We do indeed pride ourselves on providing a happy family environment for all our residents, who become family to us, too.
Old Raven House is an exceptionally warm and friendly home who generously care for their residents. They spend lots of time with them and bring a lot of joy and laughter to them each and every day. The food choice they offer is amazing and the special date nights with their families are spectacular. I honestly can say I would recommend Old Raven House to anyone looking for a brilliant care home.
Thank you so much for this amazing review! It means so much that families feel and see what we are striving for.
My dad has resided at Old Raven for more than four years, and through thick and thin and Covid, through his deterioration, as a result of the Alzheimer’s disease from which he suffered, the team have demonstrated the most exceptional and loving care. Without them, his last few years would have been miserable (as it was in the months before we found this fantastic home), and our concerns would have doubled. I cannot recommend this lovely ‘family’ highly enough - they have become a part of ours.
We so much appreciate your review. It means so much to us when our family members recognise what we aim to achieve here.
The staff at Old Raven House have shown my father nothing but care, incredible kindness and love. They have preserved his dignity and have always been professional and thoughtful to my sister and me. They have always found time to listen and inform us of any changes or issues with our father's care.
Thank you so much for this lovely review! We really appreciate it.
My mother became a resident at Old Raven House Care Home in September 2022 after being in hospital for seven weeks. She settled very well due to the kindness and love and attention she receives there. There are a lot of fun activities which we can join in with whilst we are visiting too. We recently attended an event with chickens, ducks and guinea pigs etc. Plus a dine with your resident evening which was so lovely. There are family meetings, emails and the manager is always available to speak to. All the staff are really lovely. Mum is so happy there.
Your comments are very much appreciated. We are so pleased that you are happy with the experience your mother is having and that she is happy with our care. We take great pride in being a loving home from home.
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Old Raven House Care Home now since September 2022. She is extremely happy there and due to the staff kindness, she has settled really well. She has a lovely room overlooking a garden area with her own bathroom. She has made friends and there are a lot of activities to keep her occupied. The food is excellent quality and she is eating more than she has done so in a very long time.
Thank you so much for this lovely review. We really appreciate your comments.
My dad stayed at Old Raven House for a week's respite. This was the first time Dad had been in respite and we were really anxious about leaving him in a new and different environment. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, and offered us well needed reassurance. Dad had the time of his life, the staff were kind and caring, they encouraged Dad to take part in all the activities, Dad enjoyed his meals, slept well, drunk enough in the heat, and appeared to be happy and settled. This has opened up a new chapter for Mum who now has an amazing home for Dad to stay in when she needs some time to herself without having to worry. Thank you so much to all the staff, you are all amazing.
Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review for Old Raven House which has been shared with our team.
Although it was hard not being with them as much as we would have liked to in the past 2 years, we felt confident that they were in a safe and happy place with their other family.
We could not have asked for more.
