At Alexandra Rose, carers work under the principle of - "This home is your home" and aim to provide a high standard of care in a homely, relaxed atmosphere, whilst all rooms are en-suite.

Residential care should never be regarded as a last resort. It can be a new beginning, which provides comfort and security in the latter years. It can eliminate the problems of day-to-day living and should be a most effective way of overcoming loneliness.

Alexandra Rose is proud to welcome residents into their extended family. The home encourages all residents to become involved in daily activities which include musical movements, memory quizzes, reminiscence therapy and reading periods. This encourages interaction and enables blind residents to be included in group activities.

The home is proud to outline the excellent cooking and presentation skills of the qualified cook, who has many years' experience of home cooking. The cook caters for the dietary and nutritional needs of all individuals, taking into consideration their individual choices.

Alexandra Rose has daily entertainment and many other therapeutic interactions, performances from entertainers such as musicians, singers and actors. As well as daily activities, the activity coordinator provides other interesting pursuits and entertainment.

My mother has been a resident of Alexandra Rose Care Home for some 2.5 years now. During that time I have seen very little change in the staff which is always a good sign. The staff are very friendly and caring and my mother is very content there. The care home is really well managed with the management
very approachable. Maintenance and cleanliness are of high standard and facilities are good with the building being light and airy. When initially looking for a care home, we visited a number of residential properties in our area, Alexandra Rose was by far the best we came across. Very difficult to fault.

My dad has been living at Alexandra Rose for over a month, and we're very thankful for the care he's received. The staff are kind, patient, and genuinely attentive to his needs; it's clear they work hard to create a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for all the residents. The home itself
is clean and well managed, and the team keeps us informed about any changes or updates to Dad's health or routine. It really gives us peace of mind knowing he's being looked after by people who care. A special thank you to one member of staff who has been approachable and supportive at every step.

Dad has been at Alexandra Rose for almost 18 months and in that time has been treated with the greatest respect and dignity. Staff are caring and compassionate, and keep us as a family updated. We wouldn't want him to be anywhere else.

We picked this home as it is close to where we live, so we can visit easily. Also, it is happy for us to take our dog along, which gives my mother-in-law pleasure in seeing him, and the staff are happy, as are a lot of the other residents. Out of all the homes we went to see, we found that this one,
the staff were a lot more friendly and easy to talk to. The home seems to have a happy atmosphere, and any problems that arise are dealt with quickly. The home keeps us informed of any medical problems that arise. It was found that my mother-in-law would wander around during the night, so we were asked if they could move her room so they could monitor her better. I heard the other day she was taken on a trip to the seaside, which was nice of them. My mother-in-law suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia, so she needs some encouragement to do the activities, and it was good to see when we popped in that some staff were helping her do a jigsaw puzzle. When it was her birthday, the family were invited to a birthday tea, which was lovely and made her day.

I have been so impressed from Mum entering the home in May. We were visited at home and everything was explained. Mum was made so welcome. Staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. They all welcome visitors as well. Clean, tidy, good care and meals. No smell!

My mother is a resident at Alexandra Rose has mixed dementia, aged 89 has been a resident since March '24. The result from the day of her going into Alexandra Road has been a very positive one. From level of care, compassion, dealing with difficult situations, and health concerns, everything has been
dealt with with a high level of care. Very proactive management and care staff. Very clean, comfortable surroundings, good communication and understanding for both myself and my mother. All I can say is carry on the good work.

Our late Mum spent the last three years at this wonderful care home. The management and staff gave her the best care ever with kindness, compassion and dignity.
A real comfy home not clinical at all.
The home is spotless with delicious homemade food, lots of activities and social events

My mother has been a resident of Alexandra Rose for nearly 3 years and has received excellent care. She is 96 and today looks healthier than before she moved in.
I would recommend Alexandra Rose to anyone.
My biggest problem is the slope into the building and getting her to my car. Also there is no
parking at all re. visiting.
This must be the compromise.
Nevertheless, I am a very happy daughter.

During the 3+ years that Mum has been at Alexandra Rose I haven't had anything to worry about. All the staff are amazing and work really hard to ensure all the residents enjoy every day. The home is very clean and very well managed. I couldn't have found a better home for Mum to live in.

Mum has been in Alexandra Rose for over a year. The home has remained consistently caring and supportive of her needs, making necessary adaptations as time has gone by. Mum always appears well dressed and clean, with a drink in hand and regular snacks/meals. I always feel welcomed when visiting and

Alexandra Rose is an excellent care home, providing a warm, caring and professional environment. My mother moved in nine months ago, following the death of my father who was her principal carer, and I couldn't be happier with the service provided. We visited lots of care homes trying to find the right

Alexandra Rose is a welcoming, friendly and genuinely caring residential home. From first contact at reception through the whole AR team, residents and visitors alike are valued and treated with respect and courtesy. Delicious smells come from the kitchen and the residents' birthday cakes are fabulous!
As
a naturally sociable person, Mum has quickly made friends and is an enthusiastic participant in all the various activities, also forming good relationships with all the staff.
Her care is exemplary, the home is spotless and extremely well maintained, and the whole team are clearly very dedicated.
I'm so glad I chose Alexandra Rose for my mum and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone considering residential care.

Alexandra Rose is ideal for my 94-year-old mum as it is homely and does not have the clinical feel of a modern building. Mum has been a resident for more than two years. The staff are helpful and the care is of a high standard. The management are attentive and very approachable. The ability of the home
to obtain rapid attention from the NHS is remarkable considering the often long wait times experienced 'outside'.

We have been very happy with the care provided to my Mother in the sixteen months that she has been a resident at Alexandra Rose. The staff are excellent and nothing is ever too much trouble. Now there are no longer Covid restrictions we can pop in when we like and stay for as long as we wish. My Mother
has settled in there much better than we could ever have hoped for and that is down to the staff and it being a home-from-home.
