St Anthony's is a home from home style care home for the elderly specialising in dementia care. Situated in a quiet residential area, close to the Centre of Watford, it is convenient for bus routes as well being close to the Rickmansworth Road (A412) and Cassiobury Park, St Michael's Church (C of E).

The vision is to provide the best quality care and deliver an activity programme created to benefit physical, mental and social well-being. The dedicated team of care staff are trained in all aspects of care and are all experienced in supporting residents living with dementia. Their primary objective will be to make you feel that St Anthony's is your home, not "a home", providing the highest standard of care in a warm friendly environment .

There are 21 comfortable bedrooms, lounge and dining rooms, delightfully landscape garden and separate washing facilities. Traditional meals provide a balanced diet and ensure healthy eating for all residents.

The lovely garden is the perfect space for leisurely walks, entertaining and games and sports.

The Activity Programme focuses on mind, body and soul through a range of activities such as fitness classes, musical entertainment, arts and crafts, baking, flower arranging and reminiscence games. By getting involved with the activity programme, residents see improvements in their physical health and their emotional well-being.

The team provide residential, respite, dementia and palliative care packages tailored to the needs of each individual within a homely setting.

My mum has been settled and more at ease since moving into St Anthony's. She feels safe and cared for which in turn has lifted a huge weight from my shoulders. The staff at St Anthony's are kind, cheerful and always welcoming when I visit. Very pleased with the level of care and cleanliness. The staff
are genuine and take the time to know and understand my mum and encourage her to take part in activities. Mum loves to dance and go for walks. Thank you.

St Anthony's respite home was recommended for me to have some form of respite/break from my caring duties from looking after Mum. My mother has been in St Anthony's for just around two years. The care provided has been excellent, and her overall manner/happiness is excellent. It's often a tough decision to place a loved one in care, but St Anthony's care staff have done a superb job in looking after Mum and her general well-being.

Staff very gentle.
The staff we see when we visit are very kind, gentle and thoughtful. Lovely key workers.

The entire care team at St Anthony's works efficiently together to meet the needs of all the residents who have a mix of physical, emotional and cognitive needs. Their care is compassionate and individualised. I never worried about my father's care when he was there.

My husband has been in St Anthony's since July 2021, and I visit twice a week and find the staff very caring to him. The home is always clean, and he is very well looked after. They have activities most days and play lots of music. I admire their dedication to the ladies and gents they look after.

I will start with “a home from home”. My uncle has had some personal issues, which have been very difficult for him. But after some long-term care, support, patience, real care and determination from the staff at St Anthony's, my uncle is finally settled, happy, and feeling safe and secure, and trust
levels have risen to great heights.
The team have turned him around and shown him how safe he is. How every day is a better day, supported him through some dark days, brought the sunshine back into his life.
June 2022, is a new start for my uncle and all of us. I cannot thank the staff and management at St Anthony’s enough. The home that really does care, listens and enjoys its work.

My aunt suffered from Dementia, which became progressively worse and culminated in her passing away. Although my aunt was only at St Anthony's for just under 14 months. I and my family visited on a regular basis, and on every occasion, we saw the excellent care and kindness of the staff to meet the
resident's needs, and the dignified way in which they were treated. Also, whenever my Aunt was unwell, even something minor, a doctor was called and I was advised of the outcome. I have already recommended St Anthony's to friends and would definitely continue to do so.

Mum moved into the care home 6 months ago. Although it was a very difficult time for both Mum and the family, the support and understanding from all the staff, made the transition easier. From the start, we were welcomed with kindness. Mum has now settled in and speaks positively about the care she
receives. Mum has made friends and developed new skills organised by the excellent activities coordinator. She has benefited from regular home-cooked meals, together with plenty of drinks throughout the day. During times of confusion and uncertainty as a consequence of Dementia, Mum is always treated with care and sensitivity. The staff are truly dedicated.
