Robin Hood House

Robin Hood House Care Home is a small, period residential care home within lovely grounds. There are two reception rooms, a dining room and a lobby with seating for residents. The residents’ garden is superb. My father had a small room with a sink and furnishings. It was comfortable and met his needs. My father was there for three months. The staff treated him with patience, respect and dignity. Over time my dad settled in and the staff made him smile and laugh. He was happy there. The staff at Robin Hood House are incredibly caring and compassionate. They treated him like part of the family. The staff found it challenging to support him with elements of his personal care and diet due to non-compliance. I believe they tried admirably. We decided to move my father to another home. This is not a negative reflection of Robin Hood House; we found a home better suited to his cultural needs. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank all the staff at Robin Hood House and I am forever indebted to you all for helping our family during this difficult time.

As a family, we decided that Robin Hood House would be the best place for Mum to stay; she is old and frail and needs 24-hour care. She has a lovely room, the home is in a beautiful setting, and we can visit her whenever and as often as we want to, and most importantly, Mum is happy.

I will not divulge into the situation. Social Services got involved as I raised the concern. Wasn't happy how it was dealt with by adult Social Services, contacted CQC regarding safeguarding, concerns. I would suggest not calling to say you are coming, just turn up.

Mum was diagnosed with mixed dementia just over 2 years ago whilst living with myself and my husband. To begin with, we as a family managed but things took a downward turn and we could no longer meet mums needs and came to the decision to find a home for her. We found Robin Hood House and immediately was made welcome by all staff. Robin Hood has a very nice atmosphere and although mum was confused she has now settled beautifully and made friends and is thriving.

My father was here for a couple of years ad began to really like it. That was because the staff are fantastic. My mother is here now and has things t say about the standard of food but apart from that all good. Again, the staff are great.

The home is tidy and clean. Staff are friendly and approachable. They keep me informed about my mother's condition. They are following Covid rules about visits. I feel this is a good place for my mother as her health and mental state are declining rapidly.

Given the awful year that we have all been through, with care homes being on the frontline in the early months, I think Robin Hood House has done a fantastic job at trying to protect its residents and staff. With all the residents and staff now been vaccinated. Still top of the list must be the safety of all those looked after in the home. Covid will be with us for some time now and hope you're getting full support and understanding from families. Thank you all for keeping our Mum safe, you're all doing a great job.

As my partner was on respite care and it was during lockdown, I was unable to enter the home plus it was his first time there. When I picked him up to go home, I was very impressed with his appearance. It was obvious to me that great care was given to him, also the care staff and management were very friendly towards me and my partner.

This is the 3rd 'home' I have stayed in and undoubtedly the best.

Due to Coivd 19 restrictions, I have not entered the property. The property seems clean, tidy and the garden is well maintained. The exterior needs some painting (window sills). My Mother is well dressed, clean and seems to like the meals. Staff are caring and friendly. Homely atmosphere.

My husband has been in Robin Hood House for nearly 2 years. His health deterioration has been marked, and he is now totally bedridden and on a liquid diet as the possibility of swallowing is giving concern. The manager and staff have been very kind and sincere for his care and we are so grateful he is near me in the village.

Robin Hood House looked after my mother for 4 years, and took exceptional care of her as her dementia took increasing toil on her faculties. My mother's dementia led to increasingly unpredictable behaviour. She became every challenging when being washed, dressed, toileted etc., yet the staff were extraordinarily tolerant, patient and caring. Robin Hood House had also cared for my father-in-law several years earlier. They were excellent the and now.

Dad was well fed and always treated with kindness and dignity.

Robin Hood House could not have been better at caring for my father. His advanced dementia did not phase them and they always gace him the highest levels of attention and care despite some challenging times. The staff were so friendly and caring and I couldn't recommend Robin Hood House and the team more highly. What an outstanding team.

The care, staff and atmosphere are all first class. I am always made welcome when I visit my Mum and find her always properly prepared for that.

My uncle was in Robin Hood House until his recent death. Whilst appreciating that the property is old, the staff particularly the senior staff, do an excellent job and we have appreciated all the care and understanding they gave to my uncle and especially the support they gave to me, as the family.

My 92 year old mum passed away at Robin Hood House having been cared for by staff who treated her as if she was their own mother. I never thought it possible that care staff could be so thoughtful and loving towards those in their care but I can only say that these people were like angels. They gave my mum everything she needed and took the trouble to look after us as we sat by her bedside. I can’t recommend Robin Hood House highly enough to those who truly care about their loved ones.

Staff are very friendly and caring for the residents, always seem to look after Grandma. No issues or concerns.

My parent has been a resident in this home for 5 years and has been well looked after. She always looks well cared for and seems very happy. Some staff are long-term but a lot of agency staff also. Nevertheless, I would recommend the care the residents receive as very good.

Dad has been a resident at Robin Hood Hous for over 2 years. He has always been well looked after and is always treated in a very dignified manner. The staff are very caring and very supportive of our family.

The home is a happy, homely and secure place for my dad to be living.

The only negative is that a shower room needs to replace the existing, dated bathroom.
