I would like to say a big thank you to you all in Pinewood Lodge the way you all cared and supported my dad gave his last memories happiness and dignity. I will remember the kindness you always showed me.

I have found the management staff at Pinewood have been excellent. My brother has been very well cared for, made comfortable and settled. Thank you all for all your hard work and care.

He seems to have gotten more involved in activities recently, which is great. I do feel that he should be further encouraged to join in and even get taken out in the garden or for trips outside the care home.

Reply from Deborah Yadev, Marketing Manager at Pinewood Lodge

Good day, and thank you for taking the time to send us the review. Our team at Pinewood Lodge try to ensure the residents enjoy relevant activities on a daily basis. We are hopeful that outdoor trips will resume soon and your brother would be invited. Have a lovely day!

I was told by a friend to avoid care homes that smelt of urine. I can honestly say that Pinewood Lodge always smelt clean and public areas were very clean, neat and tidy. My mum had a bad start, a couple of months after she lived in there she fell out of bed and broke a bone in her neck. She was very well looked after and recovered after about 9 months. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Residents are well looked after. Poor mark for fees as many residents don't pay.

Reply from Deborah Yadev, Interim Marketing Manager at Pinewood Lodge

Good day and thank you for that honest feedback. At our home we ensure the surroundings are well looked after just as we do with our lovely residents. We understand there are times when we cannot avoid things and thank you for understanding and continuing to support our team. Have a lovely day!

My Mother-In-Law has well looked after. She is happy. A carer told us she likes reading. I found on the internet suitable reading books for people with dementia. She was pleased with the book, it was a short story with illustrations.

My former neighbour has been resident for coming up to 2-years. I have always been impressed by the care they receive, but the Lodge has done an amazing job in the face of COVID-19. They have arranged outside visits, hence I could see one of my friends. It was difficult to see people I have known for nearly 30-years move into a home, but the fantastic staff means I need to have no concerns. Thank you to all.

My wife and I made an unannounced visit to Pinewood Lodge for the first time last week to visit a couple who were close friends of my parents. We were greeted in an extremely professional and considerate manner, provided with a discrete update of their condition and immediately given the opportunity to sit with one of them. When our friend went for lunch we were taken downstairs to meet with her husband. Here also there was a lovely caring atmosphere and staff were genuinely pleased that we were visiting their client.

As someone who has recently retired from a senior position with a disability charity, that operated care homes, and understands the pressures on the care sector, I can say without hesitation that I was so very impressed by the quality of the physical environment and by the considerate nature and the morale of the staff. Everyone we met wanted to do as much as they could for the residents and for us as visitors. With special thanks and appreciation.

As a family, we have found the home surroundings and care at Pinewood Lodge wonderful. An awful lot of effort is put into not only making our Mum feel safe and happy but also us as a family. The staff are always on hand to help and always have a happy caring attitude. It has made the huge change of Mu leaving her home and going into a residential home a lot easier. Highly recommend this home. We are all very pleased with it.

Mum has been in Pinewood Lodge since 16th April since my Father died. She has dementia, is very sad and lost without him. Staff at Pinewood Lodge are exceptionally kind and caring. The rooms are always clean and tidy, although the toilet/washrooms-em-suite are dated, could do with updating. Laundry/labelling service is very good. A relatively quiet, stress-free care home. I am happy my Mother is in a clean, safe place with caring staff.

The majority of carers and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful and seemed to genuinely care about the residents. Managers were always ready to listen to any concerns or suggestions about dad’s care. If they had concerns about dad’s health, they would promptly book him in for a visit from the doctor. He was treated with respect. His room was nice and there was an ensuite toilet and washbasin. It was clean. The record keeping was up to date and I was invited to regular meetings to review his care needs during the five years he lived there. The food always looked nice, residents had a choice if they had the mental capacity to choose. Snacks were available. They had a regular pub night. Family were made welcome when they visited, I could walk in there at any time and go and make me and a dad a cup of tea, or the carers would offer. I was given much-needed support by the staff during the last few difficult months of dad’s life.
