My husband needed respite care while I was in hospital for a hip operation. He enjoyed his stay so much, taking part in activities, friends to talk and kind, caring staff to look after him, that he decided he wanted to stay. That was three and a half years ago and he now regards Eastfield as his home. I visit regularly and am always warmly welcomed and I can rest assured he is receiving the very best of care.

Eastfield is a wonderful care home, because everything is done to make residents feel at home, while making sure they receive all the care they need. Numerous events are run to ensure residents are properly entertained. A measure of a good home is the number of staff to residents ratio and the length of service of carers, Eastfield score well on both counts.

Our mother was resident for 18 months, during which time she was treated with kindness, care and dignity by all staff, management, carers, catering staff, activity coordinators and domestic staff at all times.

My mother has been at Eastfield for 5+ years. In all the time she has been there, I have never had any concerns about her care. All the staff have always been caring, compassionate and friendly to my mother and to all my family. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is done with a smile and general concern. I would highly recommend Eastfield to anyone need of residential care.

My mother is at the end of her life and needing bed care. The carers have been unstinting in the care they give her - always gentle and knowing the discomfort she suffers. The kitchen staff do a great job in offering her food that she can digest. The manager has been very supportive in answering all of my queries. Excellent care.

I live 300 miles away so I am not able to visit often, but I feel involved by global email about activities, events and minutes of relatives' meetings. Staff let me know when Mum has been able to participate in particular events. The activities co-ordinator arranges regularly to skype with me so that I can chat with Mum. I have spoken with Mum on the phone occasionally. When I visit, I can see she is clean, comfortable and treated with kindness. The staff treat her with respect and some are outstanding in their kindness and care.

My mother entered Eastfield in February 2015.
Despite a difficult start, caused by her medication, a caring nature from all staff at all times helped Mum stabilise.
The interaction of staff and patients is excellent, and the social programme is welcomed by patients and family members.

I am delighted we chose Eastfields, and thank all for helping Mum during her difficult period with dementia.

Thank goodness for this wonderful home.
We had a stream of home carers to keep Dad at home for as long as we could but now he is being cared for how he needs.
The staff are so friendly and compassionate.
The residents are happy and clean and entertained.
The food and cooks are wonderful.
There are lots of social activities which sometimes include relatives so we all meet each other.
It's all wonderful.

Thank you Eastfield.

My mother has been a resident at Eastfield care home for 4 years. They provide good consistent care and if they didn't we would have moved her elsewhere. One of the good aspects is that staff remain consistent and there does not appear to be a high turnover of carers. We are satisfied that she is safe, well cared for and know the home would advise is if our mother had any concerns.

My mother's mental health declined at Christmas and she was no longer able to go out alone because she was confused. Everyday tasks also became daunting.
She is still able to talk to people and enjoy life and so we wanted somewhere she could get support but feel at home.
We went to several local homes I found in the interent. I almost overlooked Eastfield as the website is rather basic but I am glad we didn't.
Walking through the door there was a hum of conversation. The home was open and bright and the staff were welcoming and friendly. My mother stayed for lunch and liked it.

She is now living there full time and I can relax, knowing she is happy and cared for.

From the moment that I entered Eastfield, I felt that is was primarily a "home" not just a "business". My husband has been in residence for over three years and for him they have been happy years because he has felt loved, secure and cared for. For me, they have been happy years because I have placed my treasured husband in their care with confidence and have bot been disappointed. The care is excellent, medical attention is so good. Nothing is left to chance. I cannot speak more highly of the cheerful and great management.

My parents have been at Eastfield for over a year. They are both physically and mentally frail. The staff appear happy. The home is clean and spacious. There are no nasty smells, visitors are also offered refreshments. I have always been informed of important issues by phone e.g hospital admissions.

My father came to this care home in September 2014 'to try it out', he now would never leave. I cannot praise the caring and attentive nature of the staff and management enough. staff encourage residents, support residents and always maintain their dignity. Residents and relatives are involved in decision making and the numerous events that take place. Soon the Eastfield Curry Night - not to be missed! My father will be 93 soon and is as he could be in a place that is not his beloved flat. I can relax knowing that he is safe, cared for and loved as if in his own home with his own family.

The staff are very helpful, caring, attentive and compassionate with all residents, whatever the situation. The food is good, varied and consistent. The rooms are kept clean and have nice furnishings. The staff are very friendly to relatives and friends and very helpful. The manager has an excellent way of working with her staff to get the best from them and is also very involved with all residents. Activities every day, plus entertainment and trips out are to a good standard and all residents are invited to take part. My mother is very happy.

I want to update my previous review as I believe some improvements have been made.
In particular improvements have been made to the activities to try to improve involvement for those residents with hearing and sight problems.

I also am happier with the overall management of the home since the new management took over.

The care was excellent. On all my visits, I could see that my mother was very happy and well looked after. All the furniture was very comfortable. The carers were always at hand for my mother. The staff were always very inviting to visitors, offering for us to stay for dinners etc. All patients looked happy. The care home was kept spotlessly clean.

Lauren Traveller
Lauren TravellerJob Title:Registered ManagerJoined: 2010

I have been employed in the care sector since 2010, beginning my journey as a Care Assistant in one of our other services. During this time, I developed a deep passion for caregiving and realised the profound impact it can have on people’s lives. This passion led me to progress into the role of Deputy Manager, where I gained invaluable leadership experience.

I then went on to achieve my NVQ Level 5, which allowed me to take on the responsibility of Registered Manager at Eastfield. In this role, I am driven by the knowledge that I am making a tangible difference in the lives of both residents and staff. I find immense fulfilment in seeing the joy and smiles on the faces of those living at Eastfield, knowing that I contribute to their well-being every day.

My motivation is rooted in the connections I’ve built with the people I care for and lead, and I am committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, safe, and supported.

Terri Simmonds
Terri SimmondsJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2024

I began my career as a carer during the height of the pandemic, a time when many were facing unprecedented challenges and fears. Supporting the vulnerable elderly during such a difficult period not only solidified my passion for care but also gave me a sense of purpose in making a tangible difference to those most in need. Over the years, I have worked in a variety of care settings, ranging from supporting individuals with learning difficulties to those requiring complex nursing care. Each role has broadened my experience and deepened my understanding of the diverse needs of those in my care.

In 2024, I took the next step in my career by joining Eastfield as Deputy Manager. I am currently completing my NVQ Level 5 to further develop my management and leadership skills, ensuring I can provide the best possible service to both residents and staff. One of the aspects I truly love about my role is getting to know each resident as an individual, learning their likes, preferences, and life stories. This personal connection helps me ensure they receive care tailored to their needs.

Ultimately, I am motivated by the smiles and happiness of our residents, knowing that I am making a positive impact on their daily lives. There is nothing more rewarding than being part of their journey and contributing to their well-being.
