One of the hardest choices has to be choosing a care home for a parent.

As my Mother's dementia has progressed, the team at Dale Lodge have adapted to ensure she is comfortable and safe, working very hard for her and every other resident to give them the best care possible.

I was speaking to one

of the staff some time ago and mentioned the difficulty of their work and questioned if was easier for them over time as people come and go. She said... 'No, it never gets easier as we see them as our extended family'. I think this sums up the level of care, dedication and diligence the team exhibit. It has a family feel, is always very clean and doesn't smell as other homes can.

Thank you to all the staff at Dale Lodge!

My relative always seems happy and settled when I visit. The staff are friendly and caring and make you welcome.
They are very good at keeping relatives informed of any incidents or illnesses and the home is always kept spotlessly clean. Even the cleaning staff are cheerful and friendly and seem
to know the residents well. There are plenty of activities for residents to participate in - they really enjoy the music and singing - but aren't pressured to join in .
I have visited a number of homes and I would definitely recommend this one.

We are very happy with the care aunty gets at dale lodge. She is a vegetarian and her needs are always met. Aunty is quite 'on the ball' and know exactly what's going on. Whenever she tells us of an issue she may have we always relay it to the manager and the issues are explained to us. The activities
are always varied and adapted to all the residents needs. Aunty is always clean and her laundry is always done on a daily basis and there is never a smell in the home. Whilst the home is not the most luxurious I realise that the care is more important than chandeliers and crystal glasses well done to the whole team

positive & caring attitude. Charles Lodge is always clean. Overall like one big family.

Choosing a nursing home for your loved one is an incredibly daunting situation to be in. My family viewed a number of homes when deciding where best to place our Grandmother who needed palliative care. When we viewed Chestfield House we all agreed almost immediately that it was the best place to care
for Grandma. It is the staff that make this place stand out. The manager, nurses and all of the staff were so warm, kind, professional and knowledgable. Importantly, they were always available to speak to in person or on the phone. They really listened to us and responded to Grandma's complex needs, treating her with such care. When she reached the end of her life, staff were so compassionate to us as a family and to Grandma.
The nursing home itself feels like a home. There are lots activities to participate in, both as residents and family/friends. Food was always of good quality.
These are staff who genuinely care and I actually miss seeing them every day.

This care home has to be the best care home in Maidstone and probably Kent. The staff go above and beyond for all the residents making sure they are safe and happy. My Mum has been here 3 years now and in that time I could not complain about anything, she is very well looked after and all her needs
met. The care home itself has had a major facelift in the last year which has made it absolutely top class. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they do for my Mum they really are all amazing.

Having first met Kristie the Manager I instantly liked her as she carefully listened to my mums needs and got to know her as a person first. Mum has dementia and so I was really worried about how she would settle in and how the staff would manage to meet her needs. All of my worries completely melted
away when I saw my mum. She was happy and engaged in a singing activity and looked lovely and clean, bright and chatty. The staff are all amazing and have handled her transition so well that they have got mum into a great routine already! She loves the food and it looks like she's made some friends too. The staff are patient, reassuring, caring and kind and they have totally welcomed our whole family with open arms - the chef even offered us to stay for some lunch and so it already feels like a home from home. I can't thank you all enough for everything that you've done to make my mum and us all feel so welcome.

The care provided by Chestfield House nursing home, both to my mum in her final few months and to us as a family, has been excellent. The staff are very caring and committed. This positive staff culture undoubtedly comes from the top, Manju the Manager. We saw this in practice with how she is creates
a respectful and even fun atmosphere for staff (e.g. Curry Lunch event - staff brought in food, dressed, danced for residents etc) - but always with a steely eye on patient/resident care. You can tell that she, and the whole staff, take pride in their jobs. I also discovered that several staff have been there for many years which, in his sector, is unusual and a very good sign.

The building isn't the most modern or purpose built, although rooms are light and relatively large. But the staff care is what really matters. We'd visited others locally when choosing a home, and this one stood out with its friendly and positive atmosphere. Highly recommended.

My mum has been a resident since Covid they took her in kindly and she has been there for over 5 years. She has vascular dementia the staff are amazing. Claire and her daughter organise wonderful events each week along with all the other staff. There is a dog that visits regularly and a group of children
that the residents adore. I think the staff are amazing and do a wonderful job. If I've visited and seen a resident anxious or upset the staff will sit and hold their hand till they feel better. I would never move mum . I'm so grateful that I was recommended this home for mum

My mother in law was a resident at Harbledown Lodge for four years. During her stay there, she was treated with the utmost kindness and dignity. As we live outside of the area, our visits were perhaps 3 or 4 times a year, and we were always welcomed and respected.
During her final days of life, she
was made comfortable and assured regularly. The family were supported and felt respected at all times. She always felt loved and safe. We are most grateful to everyone who was involved in her care.
