When my mum moved into Charles Lodge in June last year, I was honestly really worried. I wasn't sure how she would settle, but the team were so supportive from the beginning. They really took the time to understand her, gently helping her adjust at her own pace. The first couple of months weren't easy,
but thanks to their patience, reassurance and consistent care, I could see her slowly becoming more comfortable each time I visited. The team at Charles Lodge are so kind, patient and genuinely aring and you can tell they really want the best for the residents. The one to one support they gave my mum made such a difference. Now I feel so much more at ease seeing her joining in with activities, chatting with other residents and even going out and exploring the community with them. I never thought I would see that. Outstanding care.

The staff are very patient, kind, understanding and thorough. They cannot be faulted for their dedication. Mum is very happy here, and we as a family feel very at ease with Mum being here. Without the expereince of having a loved one in a nursing home, Whitstable House has proved to be a comforting
place for mum to be. She could do with more stimulation, and feel but understands the difficulties involved in achieving this. Overall, very, very happy.

First impressions are the home is a bit old fashioned and dated but very clean. They could do with a cash injection bcause it is a wonderful place. Manju the manager welcomed us, the hospital totally messed up the discharge but the home calmly welcomed Jim and settled him with warmth and care. Every
member of staff we met in 4 days seemed to genuinely care, they treated Jim with dignity and warmth but also cheerful and with humour which was needed. I stayed overnight when it became clear we didn't have long. The staff all night checked I was ok as well as Jim, they listened to me, brought me tea and were amazing. They all deserve a pay rise! Thank you

I couldn't be more grateful for the care my mum receives at Edward House Care Home. From the moment she arrived, the staff have gone above and beyond to make her feel comfortable, listened to and truly at home. Nothing is ever too much trouble, even changing her room to ensure she was happy and settled.
What really stands out is their kindness and thoughtfulness. They organise special outings for Mother's Day and an easter party. The staff are friendly, caring and truly dedicated to the residents ' happiness.
Edward House is a wonderful place, and I feel so reassured knowing my mum is in such compassionate and capable hands.

It is clear that from the first day mum moved to WCC that she enjoys every minute. You can see from the smile mum has whilst at WCC that she feels safe and cared for.
I appreciate the care and attention all the staff provide to all the residents. The weekly updates show the activities and events organised
by WCC, which always look fun for all!

We choose Charles Lodge because we were impressed by all the carers, staff and management and by the more homely feel that it had compared to other places we viewed. All the staff have been caring to our father, showed great awareness when an issue has arisen and the management have been keen to help
in an approachable way. The care received at Charles Lodge, and the kindness of activities, staff, carers, cleaners, maintenance and management has been a comfort through a difficult time. Outstanding care with a human touch. Thank you all!

Thank you to all the staff at Chestfield House for the care they give my mum during the last few weeks of her life. Mum came to you Christmas Eve, from hospital. Her last Christmas was special. The family were welcome and we were able to sit in the dining room with her. The staff treated mum with care,
compassion and respect, as they did to all the residents. As I live so far away when mum wasn't strong enough to answer my face time calls they arranged a member of staff to be there to help. They took their time to talk on the phone when I called. The room was lovely and food looked delicious. Everywhere was clean. Thank you again

Edward House has looked after my mum 2023. The care is outstanding. I am always warmly welcomed and looked after when I visit. I know my mum is in safe hands and I am never concerned when I visit. My mum recently moved in with full time, because of the progression of Vascular/Alzheimers Dementia and also because of limited mobility to her hip via Osteoarthritis. She was previously extremely independent/sociable and her moving in with us had not been particularly straightforward. Been looking
for some respite care over Christmas. I was really anxious/guilty about this, since it would be her first time away from our care. Delighted to say that it worked very smoothly and she had clearly enjoyed her stay. Very thorough registration/induction process, particularly in terms of her meds as well as asking her the activities and foods that she liked. All handled by Centre Manager. Care staff I met and observed were very attentive and caring. It's really lovely building with great views. One thing that I picked up on was that carers has taken time to apply cream for dry skin which they could have easily skipped on without anyone noticing. Hoping to come again.

Mum went into Chestfield House for 2 weeks respite, As we were trying to care for her at home. This relief was noticeable very quickly. Mum loved the room & the bed. The staff & nurses were friendly & very kind to Mum. I was able to be a daughter & not a carer. The same for my Dad. Her last few days
were tough & heartbreaking but made all the more less stressful by the love & attention she received from everyone. They are a wonderful team and should all get a payrise! Thank you so much.
