My wife has been cared for permanently at Alexander House for the last six months. The quality of the day to day running if the home is very important to myself and my family. I am very pleased the way the home is run. The staff are very respectful to residents and visitors and nothing is too much trouble.
I visit my wife three times a week and I am always guaranteed a smile from whoever opens the door, and always offered lunch or refreshments. The atmosphere in the home is always friendly and they have different activities to entertain the residents. My life now is totally different and sometimes stressful living on my own but the manager and staff go a long way helping with my wife's care and I think she is as happy as her dementia allows.

We as a family were devastated when my dad became very unwell and it was decided it was in his best interests regarding safety that it was agreed to admit dad to Alexander House.
I cannot praise highly enough the care, kindness, patience and compassion every member of staff showed Dad. I was informed
of every step of his journey and at all times his dignity was upheld. The staff went way way above to ensure Dad felt valued and cared for. Nothing was ever too much trouble in ensuring that Dad felt safe. Unfortunately, we didn't realise how short Dad's life was to become but we knew he was loved and cared for by everyone at the home.

I will be forever grateful to the wonderful staff of this care home. The care and kindness given to my husband and my family was exemplary. They gave us something we thought we would not ever have again and that was happy memories, how do you thank anyone for that kind of gift that will last our lifetimes?

This home is outstanding, the care and attention to my dad is amazing so attentive and they genuinely care. I can't thank them enough, for the first time in years we managed to sit down for a meal at Christmas with my dad. Such a special memory when we didn't think we'd get any new ones.

I wanted to write to you on behalf of our family to express our heartfelt thanks to you and the entire staffing team for the care you provided to Dad in the short period he was with you, before passing on Christmas Eve. You and the team went above and beyond on a regular basis and the level of care
that was given was done so with a genuine depth of warmth and I know Dad was happy with you, we could not have asked for a more warm, friendly, caring and empathetic care provision for him during his time with you.
In addition, the care and understanding you all displayed to myself and our family during our visits were second to none and nothing was ever too much trouble. The management and the entire staff team are a credit to themselves and to their company in the level of care they provided on a daily basis to a much-loved Husband, Dad, Dad-in-law, Grandad and Great-grandad, you should all be very proud of yourselves.

My mother-in-law came to Alexander House on 8th November 2023 and until her passing on 8th July 2024. Although in a perfect world, she would have preferred to be at her own home, she was very happy at Alexander House. She frequently said how lucky she was to be cared for by such lovely staff at a time
when she was no longer able to care for herself. The staff are all very kind and caring. My daughter, baby grandson and I visited most days and were always made to feel welcome. The staff were caring and knowledgeable, and nothing was too much bother. It was comforting to know Mum was in good hands. Thank you all so much.

I have never met such a kind, caring and considerate group of people. The care my mother received during her seven month stay at Alexander House was second to none. From the moment Mum arrived there to her final difficult days and hours, I have nothing but admiration for the staff in the way they treated
not only our mum but us as a family too. The whole team should be applauded and I thank them all.

As soon as we viewed Alexander House, we knew that we wanted Mum to be a resident. As someone who was fiercely independent, she was initially reluctant but soon settled with the amazing care and support she received. From the end of November until she passed earlier this month, the members of staff
have gone above and beyond for Mum, and in the last stages of her life, we, as a family, do not know how we could have managed without them. No regrets about Mum being with you.

An excellent experience. Everything possible has been done for my friend. Treatment and care are well explained. Evidence of investigation of health issues. My mother came to the home after being discharged from the hospital where her care was appalling. She had previously been in another care home which would only let us see a dining room or the garden, we never saw her room or anywhere else. Alexander House was keen for us to be shown everything. The
staff are friendly caring and excellent at their job. My mother has put on weight and seems really happy. We are very pleased and happy with Alexander House.

We as a family cannot praise the staff at Alexander House enough. Although Mum's time there ended much shorter than expected, their caring, time and consideration to Mum's needs were the very best we could have hoped for.
They always had time for her and kept her safe. Highly recommend.

My wife had dementia me and my family said we would never put her in a home after a fair time we could not cope 24/7 so she went into Alexander House.
I used to cry myself to sleep then I realised what a wonderful place she was in the staff were amazing looked after residents way above what was required.
One day a member of staff when finished shift put my wife in a wheelchair and pushed her over a mile to the seafront had seafood then pushed her all the way back.
Amazing I will never forget all they did for my wife.

While my mother was in the care of Alexander House she was looked after and cared for by the fantastic staff, and was regularly checked constantly. And we couldn't have asked for better service from the staff and the home. And I could not praise the care home enough. And I would recommend Alexander
House to anyone who was looking for care for their parents or relatives. They always gave you a friendly greeting when you first arrived. We were often offered snacks and refreshments.

Staff were amazing couldn't be more helpful and kind, they treated my mum with so much, kindness, patience, and dignity.
I would recommend this home to anyone.
The only thing that I could mention is maybe a little money could be spent on deco to update a little, this isn't a negative to the home as
I would rather the money spent on caring which they supplied 24/7. Thank you to all the staff.

Overall, very good. The staff are always very approachable and helpful as are the management from my experience and Mum has settled in well. She has been at Alexander House for over a year now and we are very happy with the care she receives there.

The most important thing for me is that I feel secure in the fact that my wife is safe, secure and well cared for by the staff at Alexander House.
I try and visit once a week. I call to make an appointment to visit and when I arrive the staff are always very welcoming. I see my wife almost always in
her room and I can tell from looking around she has been properly cared for. As her condition deteriorates over the months she still receives the same care and without prompting she will say how much she appreciates the support she receives from the staff.
I only visit my wife in her room so can’t comment on other aspects. The parts of the building I pass through are well-maintained.

I have worked in residential care since 2003, where I began my career as a care assistant and progressed throughout the company. I had completed my NVQS 2,3,4,and RMA before becoming a manager in 2010, and later completed my QCF level 5. I enjoy the daily challenges, but most of all, I get the greatest job satisfaction when I feel I've made someone's day no matter how big or small! Seeing our service users happy makes me happy, and having a team who consistently wants to give a high standard of care and embed a holistic person centred care approach makes it all possible.

I graduated as a general nurse in 2020, completing a one-year internship in Romania during my studies. After moving to the UK, I began working in a nursing home as a carer and gradually progressed through various roles including Senior Carer, Duty Manager, Liaison Manager, and Infection Control Lead. These experiences sparked my passion for leadership and inspired me to pursue a career in management within social care. I’m currently studying Business Administration and will graduate this July. I have worked in care since i was 18 years old, having started off in a care home where I then decided to do community care. I fell pregnant with my first child and after going on maternity leave, I decided I wanted to go back into care home environment to do nights to fit around my family life. I started worked in Alexander House, where I have now been for over 10 years. I started in Alexander House as a night care worker due to my partner working during the day and this fitted round our young children, and later I became a team leader! As my children grew i grew with the home. I started days when my children started school. Become head of care and then Deputy Manager. Alexander House is my extended family and my second home. I have nvq level 2 and 3 and have completed CHAPS Training - (care home practitioner) I think of myself as a good leader and support the Registered Manager in ensuring the safety, well-being, and quality of care provided to residents is outstanding.
