My aunt has been resident for 3 years. I can honestly say we were very lucky when we met the managers. I cannot speak too highly re all involved in Alexander House.
Management and staff are skilled, professional in approach, caring and trained, my aunt receives support and tender loving care.

Highly recommended.

My friend has only been here for a few weeks but everyone on the staff has been so caring and helpful when any problems arise. The Christmas lunch today was really delicious and plenty of it. The resident obviously loved having a chance to sing along.

In a way, my husband was at a disadvantage because he was placed in a care home mainly for people with dementia. Unfortunately, suffering from Parkinson's Disease rendered his body virtually useless, while his mind was good as ever. The staff did more than their best to accommodate him but were often too busy to afford him the care he needed. In some ways, I blame myself for not being able to care for him at home. At the age of 80, could no longer lift or keep going indefinitely - sorry.

Thank you for your feedback. We were pleased we were able to give your husband and yourself the Emergency Respite that was needed for a short time. We are glad he was able to go home after his break recuperated.

I visit Alexander House to see some friends of mine. I am always made to feel welcome by the staff and given a degree of privacy to talk to my friends. The staff always supply tea and cake which is most welcome.

The private rooms are always clean and tidy and the meals provided to residents are always wholesome.

My wife and I visit my friends on a regular basis. My friend was a ballet dancer and we love her stories of dancing with Margot Fontaine at the Covent Garden Opera House. I also chat to the other residents and have made many friends. The staff are always helpful and kind.

We always get a very warm welcome.

We needed to find a home quickly for Mum on release from hospital. The Manager was very helpful in quickly actioning this. Staff are very pleasant and got on very well with Mum under difficult circumstances - always happy to help and assist and try a little more at times than they had to. Did not mind our constant visits and when we stayed either for last minute lunch or for the entertainment.

Accommodating with bright conservatories and large bright front dining/entertainment area which was really nice for a coffee morning or singing. Kept an eye on my mum healthwise with access quickly to doctors closeby. Management were always happy to update and listen.

Our mother spent recently 17 weeks at Alexander House. She needed plenty of medical care being diabetic and had other health issues. It was a difficult time for her, having to leave her home of some 60 years plus (and for her children).
During her stay, she had excellent care, both from the physical side as well as the mental side. Whilst she had a job to fully comprehend exactly what was happening to her, there is absolutely no doubt that during her stay her physical and mental state improved considerably. From our side, we felt so much better, knowing she was being cared for properly.

I would have no hesitation to recommend this home and its wonderful team to anyone looking for a home.

I cannot recommend Alexander House more highly, my mother was taken there after 2 months in hospital where she spent 97% of her time in bed and was in a terrible state, from the moment she entered Alexander House her rehabilitation started, and she hasn't looked back , she is now bright and happy and making friends , she loves the home and the staff she will say are all lovely ,she has a lovely room and can have whatever she wants in it , the staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful nothing is to much trouble . The home itself is nicely decorated and light and airy with a courtyard with tables and chairs where residents can sit out in warmer weather, they have staff who arrange different activities for residents from trips out to pampering sessions, they also have different entertainers come in to perform for the residents. This is without exception the best home I have ever visited and the best place for my mother and when she's happy so am I.

I consider my husband and I were very lucky to have found this home for his mother. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They act in a professional and caring manner.

I found the staff to be in general pleasant and caring. residents looking contented and were enjoying lunch. For an old building, it was in quite good order. However, my aunt's nails had not been attended to at all well. I was told by a member of staff this had to be done by a chiropodist. One nail was so neglected it was about half inch too long. Money is not a problem so would like to know why this has not been attended to.

My Mum has been living here for about 5 years, over this time we have got to know the home and most of the staff well and I cannot praise them enough for doing a very difficult job under some very trying circumstances at times. Most are very patient and caring. As with most establishments of this type, the actual number of staff would benefit with increased numbers.
Generally, the home is reasonably decorated with 3 sitting rooms, and Mum's room is cosy and warm, and clean. She seems well fed and she is content and happy.
Entertainment is provided regularly, thanks to the brilliant Entertainments Officer who encourages everyone to take part.

I feel Mum is looked after and is safe and kept clean.

I have worked in residential care since 2003, where I began my career as a care assistant and progressed throughout the company. I had completed my NVQS 2,3,4,and RMA before becoming a manager in 2010, and later completed my QCF level 5. I enjoy the daily challenges, but most of all, I get the greatest job satisfaction when I feel I've made someone's day no matter how big or small! Seeing our service users happy makes me happy, and having a team who consistently wants to give a high standard of care and embed a holistic person centred care approach makes it all possible.

I graduated as a general nurse in 2020, completing a one-year internship in Romania during my studies. After moving to the UK, I began working in a nursing home as a carer and gradually progressed through various roles including Senior Carer, Duty Manager, Liaison Manager, and Infection Control Lead. These experiences sparked my passion for leadership and inspired me to pursue a career in management within social care. I’m currently studying Business Administration and will graduate this July. I also hold an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care, and my next step is a Master’s degree at LSBF London. My motivation comes from making a positive difference in the lives of those we care for and supporting teams to deliver the best possible standards. I’m dedicated, driven, and excited about the future in social care leadership.

Originally started out in childcare and after a long gap to raise my family and I needed a change, I applied to Alexander House for a cleaning job which I enjoyed, 10 years later I'm still there now as a Team leader and NVQ 3 in adult care. Every day is different, dementia and elderly care is now a passion it takes dedication, resilience and a commitment to make every life happy, dignified and part of a family. Other than having my own children it's the most rewarding role I've ever had.

I have worked in care since i was 18 years old, having started off in a care home where I then decided to do community care. I fell pregnant with my first child and after going on maternity leave, I decided I wanted to go back into care home environment to do nights to fit around my family life. I started worked in Alexander House, where I have now been for over 10 years. I started in Alexander House as a night care worker due to my partner working during the day and this fitted round our young children, and later I became a team leader! As my children grew i grew with the home. I started days when my children started school. Become head of care and then Deputy Manager. Alexander House is my extended family and my second home. I have nvq level 2 and 3 and have completed CHAPS Training - (care home practitioner) I think of myself as a good leader and support the Registered Manager in ensuring the safety, well-being, and quality of care provided to residents is outstanding.
