Chestfield House

Our lovely Nan was transferred to Chestfield House after a long and turbulent hospital stay. Manju and her team made Nan feel so welcome, she was so pleased to know that she could stay with the team.

The staff go above and beyond, build genuine connections and provide outstanding care. They support the families around the residence in the most thoughtful ways.

I would recommend this setting for anyone looking for a welcoming, homely setting that prioritises patient well-being and good practice.

My mother was a resident at the home from 14/08/26 until 07/10/26 when she died due to complications from a recent hospital stay. The staff at the Chestfield House were professional, inclusive, kind and caring in their attitude to my Mum. Nothing was too much trouble and she soon became part of their family. My Mum was in excruciating pain with necrotic legs and the nursing care was second to none. As a family we felt we could step back and be her family and leave the care to the nursing staff and carers. Which has been a true relief and meant we could concentrate on spending the final days with my Mum in a peaceful place to say goodbye.

Chestfield Nursing Home is just wonderful! My darling Mum started her care here in November 25 after we sadly lost my Dad. From the moment a member of staff came out to the car with a wheelchair to greet her, the care has been fantastic. Manju the manager is so lovely, she looks after me aswell as my Mum! Always asking if I am ok too and knows if I'm feeling a bit emotional and we have a chat. The Home is tired looking....but the care more than makes up for it. ALL staff are so friendly and always smiling. My Mum loves a laugh and the staff are always having banter with her which she absolutely loves! It has such a lovely feel and very homely. In fact when I visit Mum, the staff feel like my extended family! Always a pleasure to go there, after not knowing what to expect. Mum has been treated with such care and dignity. Special mention to Louise who goes above and beyond and makes a fuss of my Mum, thank you, it means so much. From the bottom of my heart, Manju and staff, thank you xx

Chestfield house is a lovely care home, from the minute we walked in, we were treated with kindness and respect. All the staff are warm, welcoming and very kind. They looked after my darling mum with great care and dignity,and made her smile.

My mum was placed here on the 9th March 26 which happened to be her 84th birthday once she was settled the staff came in with a birthday cake and sung happy birthday to my mum the care and compassion that all the staff have given my Mum went above and beyond my Mum wasn't easiest client to look after and often loved a swear word but that was her character in her time at Chesfield House the staff have been amazing with my mum and also with myself and my family the care manager would pull me to one side at times as she could see I was struggling there are no words to thank them enough for the care that they gave my mum in the last few months of her life thank you all so much.

Now dad is back home I think he misses being back with the staff at Chestfield House! Thank you for all you have done, we couldnt recommend you all enough and are so grateful for everything! 5***

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for Chestfield House the support, welcome and professional service me, my husband, and daughter revieved from all the staff every week I/we visited. They had time to explain the routine, the setup, the wonderful relationship they all had for my 'mum', they treated her like their own. The communication from medication, personal hygiene, daily food, and reassuring them every time, every day I can.

My father was a resident for more than 7 and half years.In that time he was very well cared for. For the last few years he was unfortunately confined to bed due to his stroke and failing health. In that time his skin was kept in good condition, and didn't break down with bed sores. every day he was washed cleaned and dressed in his own clothes. His dietary needs were met exactly as what the dietician from the community had suggested, and the food was excellent and varied. The vast majority of staff had been there since my father arrived 7 years previous. They were all very helpful and caring both to residents and family members who went to visit, you were never a problem to the staff, always gave time to talk and inform you of any changes that were needed to my fathers care.They had many activities throughout the year with music games and welcomed family members to come and join in. The home was very clean and tidying in good order, and the meals always smelt lovely when you walked in

My grandma was here for two weeks. During that time she was always supported to be clean, look nice, always in fresh clothes, smelled nice, and seemed comfortable. Everyone seemed so kind and thoughtful, I remember one of the ladies doing the tea round just sitting with her for a while. The nurses were always so kind and considerate, not only to her, but to me too. The way the nurses spoke to her with such a gentle and kind nature made me feel like she was completely safe in their care. They supported her to have a comfortable and dignified last two weeks and I will forever be grateful. Thank you to everyone at Chestfield House.

My mother spent the last couple of years of her life at Chestfield House. The most outstanding thing about her care was the staff. They were kind and caring, always trying to please. My family were made to feel welcome visiting and personal requests were honoured. Management addressed concerns. Her recent passing was treated with the utmost of compassion.

Having placed our dear mum in the care of Chestfield House care home, we as a family did not know where to turn or what to expect. We received amazing warmth and empathy as mum spent her final days receiving the best quality care we could have dreamed of. Not only had the staff got time for mum and her needs but also for us as a family. We felt we too were at home with mum in her last days. Excellent staff awareness of our circumstances and hands on management. The home made everything so much easier to process, as mum deteriorated they showed great understanding and managed to support us as well as our dear mum. I am so thankful.

First impressions are the home is a bit old fashioned and dated but very clean. They could do with a cash injection bcause it is a wonderful place. Manju the manager welcomed us, the hospital totally messed up the discharge but the home calmly welcomed Jim and settled him with warmth and care. Every member of staff we met in 4 days seemed to genuinely care, they treated Jim with dignity and warmth but also cheerful and with humour which was needed. I stayed overnight when it became clear we didn't have long. The staff all night checked I was ok as well as Jim, they listened to me, brought me tea and were amazing. They all deserve a pay rise! All the family thought that our mother was treated with dignity and respect during her time at the care home. She was attended to with great care, much more so than she had been previously whilst in hospital. Thank you. The staff were very welcoming to all the visitors and answered any questions we had about her care.

Thank you to all the staff at Chestfield House for the care they give my mum during the last few weeks of her life. Mum came to you Christmas Eve, from hospital. Her last Christmas was special. The family were welcome and we were able to sit in the dining room with her. The staff treated mum with care, compassion and respect, as they did to all the residents. As I live so far away when mum wasn't strong enough to answer my face time calls they arranged a member of staff to be there to help. They took their time to talk on the phone when I called. The room was lovely and food looked delicious. Everywhere was clean. Thank you again

Mum went into Chestfield House for 2 weeks respite, As we were trying to care for her at home. This relief was noticeable very quickly. Mum loved the room & the bed. The staff & nurses were friendly & very kind to Mum. I was able to be a daughter & not a carer. The same for my Dad. Her last few days were tough & heartbreaking but made all the more less stressful by the love & attention she received from everyone. They are a wonderful team and should all get a payrise! Thank you so much.

We feel very grateful he was able to come to you, to be cared for. Your home is clean, fresh and most of all homely. Every member of staff, were friendly and smiling every day.You made a very difficult time, a little bit easier.
