I cannot thank the staff and the care home manager enough for all the care and attention given to my mum over the last 5 years and in particular the last few weeks of her life. My mum was bedridden, vulnerable and in the early days she was very confused but throughout her time there, she was treated

The care provided to my dad for the last three months was exceptional. Suffering with dementia, the staff were able to effectively communicate and understand his needs. My thanks to all of the staff but in particular, the care home manager and senior nurse who not only cared for my dad but also myself

Very accommodating in all ways. The place looks tired although was having a facelift towards the end of stay.

Due to the fact I live in Bournemouth, I only visit my aunt three times but closer family members visited more frequently.
My aunt accepted she was bedridden and had to be in a nursing home. She had nothing but praise for the staff and the care she received. When I visited I could see how much they
thought of her and they were so kind to us. I cannot answer all the ratings as I did not visit that often.

The manager and her team provided my father with care and support during his last couple of years when he was at his most frail and vulnerable. He was treated with patience and dignity and the team communicated how he was getting along and were really quick to tell us every time he became poorly. We
were concerned about how he would fair in a care home but the team made his final time peaceful and made sure he was well looked after. Thank you to all the team and those that work at the home.

This was the perfect place for Auntie. It started with the excellent professionalism of the manager who takes an interest in the medical care as well as the admin of the home. Then the nursing and care staff who treated Auntie not only with respect but as a friend, spending time chatting to her about
TV, books and whatever else she wanted to talk about. And not forgetting the kitchen staff who tried to tempt her even with goodies when she did not feel like eating and being as accommodating as possible. She was full of praise for the staff and loved looking out at the flowers and birds in the garden.

All the staff at Chestfield House Care Home were the nicest and most caring we could have ever imagined would be looking after our mum. Mum was made very comfortable for her end of life and the staff took such great care of her every day. Mum was treated with dignity which allowed her to pass peacefully.

House was so unbelievably clean that we were very satisfied with the quality of care this care home provides.
The staff greeted us every day at whatever time we arrived with warmth and compassion.

My auntie was at Chestfield House Nursing Home from September 2022 until she passed away on the 4th of January 2023. All the staff at the nursing home were fantastic with Auntie, from management to the cook. Everyone demonstrated amazing care, empathy and, above all, my aunt was treated with the dignity
a 95-year-old lady deserved.
I have the utmost admiration for everyone at Chestfield House and although the building is very old it has a warm, comfortable feel that felt like home. Auntie was happy in the last months of her life and I always felt welcomed. The team never failed to keep me informed of her progress and any issues that arose. I am very grateful to Chestfield House for making her last few months the best for her. Thank you all so much.

I was lucky enough to secure a place in the home for my husband to receive his end-of-life care. The care he received was excellent. The staff responded to his needs which varied from day to day and treated him with respect and dignity. At end of life, his children and grandchildren were visiting from
abroad and we were always welcome and treated with great kindness. I include all staff in these comments as the domestic and catering staff were as important to his care as the manager, nurses and carers.

My mother was in Chestfield House from September 2022 until she passed away after a stroke in January 2023. The manager and the whole team were fantastic. My mum had been in another care home as well as a prolonged visit to hospital, and Chestfield was a different class. The staff were caring, respectful
and empathetic, and my mum's time there, albeit relatively short, was the happiest period of her final years. Mum was a fussy eater, but the food was great and she really appeared to enjoy it. The rooms are certainly not at 5-star hotel standards, but they are nice, clean and in my mother's case, bright. She was very comfortable there. My family and I are very grateful to the manager and her team, they made Mum very comfortable and that made us very comfortable. I'm going to give everything the highest rating. I feel that they genuinely did the very best for my mother, and in gratitude the least I can do is give them the very best from me. Thank you to everyone at Chestfield.

The care home did a fantastic job of looking after my dad and even my mum when visiting my dad. The staff were really lovely and helpful, and the food was fantastic. The care my dad received was wonderful.

The staff here are amazing and genuinely care about the residents. Mum often said how lovely they are. The food is super too - Mum had a good appetite so always looked forward to mealtimes. A massive thank

All of the nursing staff showed care and compassion during my fathers end of life care at Chestfield House. I felt that everyone did their level best to keep Dad comfortable at all times and there with him at passing. If you want to mee an "angel", you will find several at Chestfield House! I did. Thank

My dad sadly passed away yesterday after only nineteen days at the home. We knew when Dad went in that it wouldn't be long as he was deteriorating quickly but the staff at the home could not have been better. They looked after Dad with care and respect and we genuinely feel that he could not have got
better care elsewhere. He was especially difficult to look after because he was blind and deaf, which made it difficult for the staff to communicate with him, especially as they did not know him before he went in. I would also like to thank the staff for the way that they treated my mum. When Dad went in, he was supposed to be ten days in isolation because of the Covid rules, but because he was so poorly, they let Mum in two days early. Although they let her in, they waited until I could go in with her on the Thursday before they talked to us about our expectations, wishes and what to expect. Again, they did this with care and compassion, not only for my dad but for my mum as well.

My husband has been in Chestfield House Care Home for four years. He is now totally bedbound and relies on carers for his every need.
During lockdown, when I wasn't able to see him for a year, I was extremely reassured that he was ok because a member of staff held the phone so I could FaceTime him
several times a week. I was so grateful that the home made that possible.
That's just one instance of their compassion and care for my husband as well as myself. The staff and management are always so kind and welcoming.
My husband is always clean and clean-shaven, he is always treated with dignity and respect, as are all residents. It's surprising how much you can hear staff communicating with residents while not being aware of being overheard!
I would have no hesitation in recommending Chestfield House to anyone looking for a home for their loved one and have done so in the past.

I qualified as an RGN in 1997. After this, I worked in India and the Middle East till 2003. I moved to England in April 2003 and started working as a nurse in April 2004 at Chestfield House. In October 2006, I became the Deputy Manager at Chestfield House. In 2017, I qualified as a BSc Nursing student from Canterbury Christ Church University.
