The team at Chestfield House have unwavering care and compassion not only for their residents but their families also. The team are always very communicative when needed, bringing any concerns to the family's attention in a timely and sensitive way. We would recommend to anyone needing residential or
nursing care that Chestfield House was a safe place for our mum to be cared for, encouraging her to live as full a life as able in these very difficult times with Covid. Our minds were put at rest knowing she was there.

Mum went into care in June 2020 with the onset of dementia and mobility issues. Mum came here after a recommendation to us, and we are so glad she was looked after here.
Unfortunately, Covid had a big impact on our access to see Mum for a while, but we remained in regular touch via phone with the home
and Mum via phone and Zoom!
Mum was cared for until this month when she sadly passed away. She was looked after by a team of fantastic devoted people.
It is when you lose your Mum that you truly know how the team here cares; they truly wear their heart on their sleeves.
Thank you all for your devotion to these frail and vulnerable people in making their final years as best as can be.

My father spent his last six months in the care of the team at Chestfield House Care Home. He was happy there and cared for with great kindness and professionalism.
The staff were genuinely upset when he passed and handled it with compassion and professionalism.

The only thing I wish was that they let me see my husband before he got too ill to talk. I realise Covid is the reason, but I desperately wished I could have seen him sooner.

At a very restricted time during Covid, I can only say that Chestfield House staff done everything they could to make me feel safe and supported emotionally at a time when I felt devastated that my father had to go into nursing care. Nothing was too much trouble, I could ring at any time to be reassured
and visits were very controlled and safe. Dad always looked presentable and clean, also his room.

Although my mum was only at the home for two weeks I was very happy she was there and being well looked after. As soon as I spoke to the manager I knew Mum would be in good hands. Even though I hadn’t met her I felt I could trust my mum into the care of the manager and her staff. They are very warm
and welcoming and I immediately felt part of the “team”. I was kept informed of Mum's health and was consulted fully when there was need for a doctor. Mum was in isolation but as soon as it was clear she was slipping away I was phoned and was able to go in. Unfortunately Mum slipped away peacefully before I arrived. The aftercare was very sympathetic and always the first thing asked was how I was and coping. Everything done was carried out in a very caring and professional manner.

I found the manager and deputy manager to be extremely supportive to us both when my husband first moved to Chestfield House. I felt my husband was very, very well cared for and safe in the home. A doctor was always consulted when he was unwell and I was kept informed. He was bedbound and kept clean.
I admire the way the staff coped during the pandemic, which was a very difficult time for staff and residents. Thank you Chestfield.

My mother moved into Chestfield House at the staff of the pandemic as her previous nursing home closed suddenly. She was understandably distressed and anxious at the sudden change. All staff made sure she (and ourselves) were welcome, and she settled well. We know she received nothing but the utmost
care. She sadly died this month, but all staff have been so kind to me, helping me through this sad time.

My mum has been here for about a year now. It is such a lovely home, very clean and bright. The staff are wonderful, always very helpful. I know that my mum is very well cared for. I would definitely recommend Chestfield House.

My mum spent four and a half years at Chestfield House in a loving environment, all the staff are fantastic, although the home isn't shiny and new, the level of care that mum received there was just wonderful. I'm really happy that mums finally years were spent in such a safe place.

The care home staff led by the manager looked after my father in the last weeks of his life.
Their level of care, sensitivity and diligence were second to none. They allowed us to see him 3 days before his death and had timed it so well, he was lucid enough to talk to us and we could say our goodbyes.
I would recommend Chesterfield House to any family seeking care for their loved ones.

My mother was only in the nursing home for 3 months before she sadly passed away, but during that time I could not have wished for better care and communication with myself regarding her health needs. All the staff made us feel very welcome, always available to talk to and the building was well kept

My friend spent the last 4 and a half months of his life at Chestfield House. Both his wife and I were able to visit him every day and so were able to see at first-hand the excellent care that he received during that time. We found all the staff to be friendly, compassionate and professional. My friend
had many health problems and I cannot praise the manager and deputy manager highly enough in their leadership when addressing these problems. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Chestfield House to others.

The outstanding feature of the home is the staff. Undoubtedly over-worked and underpaid, they are nevertheless caring, patient and accommodating, always with a cheerful demeanour and an engaging smile. Even the most demanding residents were treated with respect and good humour. However difficult communication
was, they were not ignored and staff unceasingly tried to engage them in choices, opinions and responses. There were niggles; where did all the socks go? and teatime choices were not good but all minor criticisms were acted on. I doubt we would have found a better care home for mum's final days.

Chestfield House was a lovely place.
All the staff were kind, considerate and helpful. The management were excellent, so helpful.
My aunt was happy to be here. Lovely room by the garden, food lovely.

In October 2006, I became the Deputy Manager at Chestfield House. In 2017, I qualified as a BSc Nursing student from Canterbury Christ Church University.

I have worked here since 2017 and I am qualified in advanced food safety. I always helped out in the kitchen but took over as chef in April 2024. I love cooking and take pride in preparation, often focussing on a particular cuisine, new dishes and also cooking a wide variety of dishes - all kinds of food. Also my family always enjoys my dishes.
