Extremely kind and caring staff who go that "extra mile" to understand and be responsive to the residents. A lovely environment and atmosphere.

The outstanding feature of the home is the staff. Undoubtedly over-worked and underpaid, they are nevertheless caring, patient and accommodating, always with a cheerful demeanour and an engaging smile. Even the most demanding residents were treated with respect and good humour. However difficult communication was, they were not ignored and staff unceasingly tried to engage them in choices, opinions and responses. There were niggles; where did all the socks go? and teatime choices were not good but all minor criticisms were acted on. I doubt we would have found a better care home for mum's final days.

My mother in law was in this home for 2 weeks in end of life care. Every time we went there she was clean and well cared for. The place is peaceful and very clean. The staff are helpful, gentle and respectful. I am a NVQ level3 support worker and I was impressed with how good and organised this home is. I couldn't find a fault. I am very pleased she was there and a big thank you to all the staff.

My Mum was always cared for by the staff at Chestfield House with care, compassion and dignity. In her final days, they were extremely supportive to us as a family. Nothing was too much trouble. They showed understanding and empathy and their affection for Mum was more than apparent. Her loss was as sad to them as it was to us. We cannot speak highly enough of all the staff and we will always appreciate their kindness.

This was a very difficult time for my mother and indeed the whole family. It was a great comfort to be able to leave her each evening without the slightest doubt that she would not receive anything but the very best of care. The attention paid to her medical needs by the experienced nursing staff was first rate, as was the great care taken with her emotional and comfort needs. The atmosphere at Chestfield House was extremely welcoming and homely. Behind the scenes, a very efficient admin team kept on top of all aspects of care and housekeeping. In short, it is difficult to imagine a better service.

The care provided by the staff at Chestfield House was excellent, exactly what one hopes for when selecting someone to look after a loved one. Mum was clearly happy and enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the caring staff. However, what was unexpected was the way that provision encompassed the whole family. No matter what time of day or night we visited, we were not just welcomed, but made to feel as though we were also being looked after. First hand experience of managing a care home tells us that the demands upon the manager are immense, she fullfills that role superbly and always made herself available to not only support and guide but also to care. That is the mark of an excellent team. Well done and many thanks to all of the staff!

I found Chestfield House led by the manager to be a happy friendly home where I was happy to have my husband spend his last 10 months when I could no longer look after him at home.
All the staff were friendly and polite whenever we visited at any time of the day.

Grateful thanks to you all.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the manager and all the staff at Chestfield House for their care and compassion in looking after my father for ten months.
It meant so much to the family to know Dad was safe and content in his surroundings.
The staff were always polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
We were always welcomed by friendly faces at any time of the day.
In Dad's final days everyone was very sympathetic and he was made as pain-free as possible.

In such sad times, we can't thank you enough for all the help and support.

My dad has only recently come to live at Chestfield House after spending some time in another care home. He has Alzheimers and is bedridden. He can sometimes be challenging but nothing is too much trouble for the very caring staff. He seems to have settled in very well and is calm and looks well. He receives very good well-balanced and appetising food even though he is now on a semi-soft diet. The staff are friendly and welcoming and always interested in dad and try to make him as comfortable as possible (not easy when he has two pressure sores). He is regularly repositioned and for the first time since he went into care I can go home at the end of visiting and not worry about what is/isn't happening. The home has a calm, homely feel to it.

My husband received the most excellent care at this nursing home. The staff allowed me to visit at any time. When my husband was dying the care could not have been better. He was treated gently and with dignity. His family were able to be with him until the end. For this, we are truly grateful.

Thank you to staff and the manager, so helpful and kind to me during this sad time.

My stepfather spent the last months of his life there and we could not have asked for better care. The home was spotless (and did not smell!) and the staff courteous, respectful, caring and kind to the end. It was always nice to see the more active residents smiling...that was one of the first things we noticed when we visited.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and at a difficult time for the family, they took an enormous burden off our shoulders.

Thank you.

My mother has been in Chestfield House for 7 years and 2 of those are borrowed time. The staff take great care of my mother and if it wasn't for the good team the manager has around her my mother would not still be with me. They are very caring and are always there for me as well.

My parent has been in this home for a year and the care has been fantastic. My parent is bed bound but has no evidence of developing any form of pressure sore. The skin is intact not even scuffed a true feat of excellent nursing care.
