Having first met Kristie the Manager I instantly liked her as she carefully listened to my mums needs and got to know her as a person first. Mum has dementia and so I was really worried about how she would settle in and how the staff would manage to meet her needs. All of my worries completely melted
away when I saw my mum. She was happy and engaged in a singing activity and looked lovely and clean, bright and chatty. The staff are all amazing and have handled her transition so well that they have got mum into a great routine already! She loves the food and it looks like she's made some friends too. The staff are patient, reassuring, caring and kind and they have totally welcomed our whole family with open arms - the chef even offered us to stay for some lunch and so it already feels like a home from home. I can't thank you all enough for everything that you've done to make my mum and us all feel so welcome.

My friend was in care at Edward House from November 25 2024, he went for initial assessment as I repeated that his dementia had gone down hill suddenly and he needed care and in every aspect he received first class care, he loved the activities and always told me how wonderful the food was. He's a wanderer
with peripheral edema in his legs but they always watched him carefully and sat him down, the home is totally safe + secure.

Now my mother has been in Edward house for 3 months, I am happy and have peace in mind she is looked after well. Manager, her Deputy and all team member are welcoming. I have had several phone calls during the time my mum was not well. Manager took her to A&E just as precaution. I cannot praise their
kindness, being cheerful and informative all the time.
I have rated facilities GOOD how ever building and communal areas can benefit of a face lift. also garden can be more welcoming for residence to sit outside when the weather is good.
Every where is clean all the time however it would be better if it is safe around residence to use fabric softener in the water when floors being mopped so area smells nice.

My mother has been a resident for 30 months and in all that time she has been shown kindness and compassion, although she is quite frail and very confused now I've never seen her distressed, she regards Edward House as her home and I ( her daughter) am delighted with the care she receives.

I have rated it 4/5 as the overall score, as we are a recently new user of this service, so we have little experience to go on. However, the experience for the last 3 weeks that we have been associated with Edwards House suggests it's a nice place to be. However the facilities are tired and could do
with some modernisation, but this does not reflect on the carers competence and caring attitude. I don't really know about the activities laid on as yet, but I understand that they are designed to also help with the mental well-being of the residents, which is a good thing. My observation about the team (Management and Staff) at Edwards House is that they offer a first-class service.

My brother has been in Edward House for nearly 18 months, and we are very pleased with the way he is looked after, The manager and her team are very supportive, kind, caring, compassionate and helpful, not just to him but to us as well. We cannot praise the residence enough for always being pleasant,
cheerful and welcoming, keeping us up to date with events. My brother is quite settled now and is happy with his life in Edward House which gives us peace of mind knowing he is so well looked after.

My mother has been in Edward House for 18 months now. My sister and I are very pleased with the care she receives. Her room is bright and comfortable. The staff are all very welcoming and very supportive to us as well as my mother. We feel comfortable ringing to discuss anything and the staff equally
informs us of any health issues or problems that may arise. They obviously have got to know her very well. The location is perfect being within an area she has known for 70 years and easily accessible for us. A lovely home.

Staff are always helpful and caring to my mother.
They make my mother as comfortable as she can be with her dementia which can obviously be challenging.
The food and facilities are good and the location of the house is also very convenient.

From my initial meeting with the manager at Edward House when she assessed my dad in the hospital, we have been treated with the utmost respect and consideration. The staff at Edward House are kind, caring and compassionate to my dad and also to us as a family. My dad has settled in really well and

My husband came to Edward House in September and I have had such support from all members of staff with him settling into his new home. It was one of the hardest things I've had to do, but they have treated him with so much care and kindness that I know he is happy and safe.

The home is fairly basic but has a homely feel. The staff are absolutely wonderful. Kind, caring and welcoming. There's always plenty of tea and biscuits! They provide activities such as exercise classes and bingo. My dad always enjoys the Skittles competition. They hold celebratory events such as summer
BBQs and families are very welcome.
The food is wholesome, homely meals which again my dad enjoys, and he loves his cooked breakfast!

Mum spent three weeks convalescing here following an operation and was very happy. She settled extremely quickly; staff were very efficient and caring and Mum was made to feel like one of the family. Having been reluctant to go here initially, Mum was reluctant to leave! We would have no hesitation
in placing her, here again, should she require respite or longer-term care, and the family would like to thank the team at Edward House for their kindness and for providing us with peace of mind.

The care home requires updating in a number of areas.
The bathroom and shower look very old, the décor is tatty and the rooms need refurbishing.
We pay £850 per week and although the staffing and meals are generally good this does not represent good value for money.
