I am a registered nurse and manager, having joined this company in March 2008. My career started as a senior care assistant, and from there, I built up my career. I have completed my management course and also done the exams to achieve my NMC pin as a registered nurse in the UK. My personal experience in caring helped me to care for others, understand their needs and provide support, and make personal connections with families, which makes a positive impact to improve the care. My managerial experience helped me to take on challenges and get opportunities to learn and grow.
I qualified and enrolled as a registered nurse in 1991 in India. Later, on, I moved to the UK 2005 and started my career as a senior carer in a learning disability care home. Then, I moved to Harbledown Lodge as a senior carer. I enrolled as a registered nurse in the UK in 2011 and started as a deputy manager at Haydon Mayer care home. I was runner-up for the Kent Nurse Award in 2017, mainly for making a change in people's lives by enabling them to recover and regain their strength for those who were admitted to assessment beds. In between, I nurtured my clinical experience in stroke care and trained on critically ill patients while working at the stroke units at Kent and Canterbury hospitals.
I am qualified as Head Chef at the Harbledown Nursing Home, where I have proudly worked since 2018. This job marks the first in my experience in the care sector, where previously I worked at a hotel as a chef for 20 years. I take great pride in making nutritious meals tailored to each dietary needs of the elderly residents, ensuring that they all enjoy their food. My passion for cooking is matched by my commitment to delivering high standards of care through food.
