My mum was a resident for 3 years. In the beginning, it was difficult but a change of management and the care she received was second to none. The staff were all very caring and treated her like they would their own mum. She had her nails done every fortnight and loved this, she called the lady her
friend, that is how kind she was to mum. There was a member of staff who called mum, mum and she was so very kind and mum loved her the same. Towards the end, it was hard for mum but the staff showed such kindness and compassion to mum and to us her family. She was treated with dignity love and kindness. I miss visiting the home as they all became our family and more importantly mum's. They all, including the maintenance, kitchen, office, well just everyone who works there, deserve medals. Thank you for the care and love you gave mum.

My husband had to be admitted to a care home as an emergency as I, his wife, suddenly had a medical emergency myself. Everyone in Harbledown Lodge was extremely helpful in my difficult situation. And my husband was happy there! The staff were friendly, kind and professional. The nurse was attentive
to my husband's diabetic problem and sorted out his medication efficiently. The care home smelled clean and seemed well run. A very good experience for both of us.

Harbledown Lodge staff and management have gone above and beyond to ensure my mum is in a safe and caring environment and that she receives the care she needs. I live abroad and knowing mum is in the best place for her has made it easier for me, as well as knowing she is safe and cared for going forward.
We have been here 2 days and so far I can't fault them.

My father, aged 87, was transferred to Harbledown Lodge after 4 weeks in hospital following a catastrophic stroke which, among other things, had rendered him blind. I can honestly say that the care my father received from all the staff at Harbledown Lodge was fantastic. They were all so very sweet and
caring to him and to my visiting mother and me. I constantly bombarded staff with questions and requests, they were all so kind and patient. My father was always clean, tidy and comfortable and seemed much more at peace than when he had been in hospital. Sadly he died 15 days later and the staff showed such concern and empathy. Faultless.

Couldn't be more happier as a family with the care provided to my Dad. We moved Dad to Harbledown after poor care from another service. Care provided here far surpasses any care Dad has had in previous years. Thank you.

My mother's needs are provided for when I inform staff of issues and concerns. Daily support to get washed and dress fluctuate depending on which staff are present or available. My mother is generally happy living at Harbledown but I need to be vigilant and proactive to ensure her care is kept at a
good level.
Many staff are helpful, attentive but often overstretched in providing care to residents.
Activities are interesting and there is a good range of indoor pursuits made available on weekdays.

Overall, the resident seems happy and settled. Carers are excellent and very kind and know her needs. It's a shame that some of our favourite carers and managers have left, we felt confident with them. We sometimes feel the carers need more help and more staff as they can be busy with a resident
in their room and so we can't always find a carer if we needed one urgently/soon. They work very hard and are dedicated - thank you! Food is adequate but can be cold when Mum gets it. Sometimes, it doesn't look very appetising, but we understand the cooks do as best as they can. Mum walks 'a lot' and we're sometimes concerned she may fall. We are glad that Mum is being cared for here.

A very well run residential home with excellent staff who are very helpful and cheerful. The home is always clean and there are good facilities to make use of. The dining area in first class and the food provided is good. My uncle is always cheerful and well looked after. The nursing/doctor care is

I qualified and enrolled as a registered nurse in 1991 in India. Later, on, I moved to the UK 2005 and started my career as a senior carer in a learning disability care home. Then, I moved to Harbledown Lodge as a senior carer. I enrolled as a registered nurse in the UK in 2011 and started as a deputy manager at Haydon Mayer care home. I was runner-up for the Kent Nurse Award in 2017, mainly for making a change in people's lives by enabling them to recover and regain their strength for those who were admitted to assessment beds. In between, I nurtured my clinical experience in stroke care and trained on critically ill patients while working at the stroke units at Kent and Canterbury hospitals.
