I am very grateful that the staff at the hospital in Margate suggested that my sister come to Harbledown Lodge. The manager and administrator explained the setup. The nurses and carers are friendly and efficient. The food is good and varied and there are different kinds of drink.

A peaceful home in beautiful natural settings. Staff are friendly and helpful. Mum is being looked after well and is making a good recovery currently. The home is clean and well-maintained. There are many activities going on for the residents. Such as sitting outside on the terrace and doing art and creative things. Mum hopes to join these activities in the near future.
The staff have been exceptional in their care for my mother. I can be safe in the knowledge that she is receiving the best care, is safe but is also happy. It is very pleasing to see the interactions between my mother and her carers, where you can see genuine warmth between them.

We couldn't find a better place for my mother-in-law to live. The staff are so caring and the care they provide is first class.

Each time I visit my Mother is clean and in good spirits. The staff are so caring and polite so I thought to leave a review. The room and building are always immaculate. Mum wasn't coping at home and became bed-bound after a fall, she spent 1 year in hospital and then was lucky to end up in...
I am so happy she is here. I even receive text messages updating me.
My overall experience was extremely positive. I have not seen my nan that happy in a long while. She has seemed to get her personality back since her first fall. She expressed how lovely the staff were and how nice the food was! She seemed extremely content which was very reassuring.

Catering could be a little better. Dad is bored. Care is generally good though Dad does say from time to time they are rough when handling him.

Slow deterioration over time due to lack of stimulation and long stints in the lounge in his chair. Care of personal clothing very untidy and disorganised. Other people's clothing in the wardrobe and drawers!

With all my thanks and respect to all concerned.
I visit my sister as much as I can as I live in North London and it takes me about 2 hours to drive there. My sister has a main carer. I try to come once a month. I find the staff helpful and friendly.

All staff were so welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough for us as a family going through a very difficult time. Home was very clean and comfortable and we couldn't have asked for more. We cannot recommend highly enough and were kept informed of everything as it happened and always happy to answer any questions we had. RIP Father-in-law you had a very dignified and peaceful transition.
Very pleasant staff, always helpful and friendly. Keeps the relatives informed, and always place the residents' feelings first. It is a bit of a pain having to remember to book a time to visit the day before, although when I have forgotten and phoned in the morning, it's never been a problem!...
Only criticism is that day areas are a little dated.
I would like to thank all the staff at Harbledown Lodge for the excellent care they gave my dad during his stay with them. I found them very friendly and caring as well as professional.

My husband was given his own room and allowed his own clothes. The staff were always caring and pleasant, even in difficult circumstances. The room was cleaned daily, swept and washed and the bed changed, sometimes more than once a day. The meals were very good and I was allowed to help my husband with his meal when I was in, mainly at luntime. He was given a television and a radio. My husband wasn't able to join in any activities and social services paid the cost.
My mother is looked after very well and the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall we are happy with the care home.

The care home is always understanding of my working shifts and is flexible for visits. I have no concerns about leaving my mum here. We are kept informed of any issues. The one improvement would be getting her out and about being pushed around in a wheelchair, this may be done but I am not sure.

Difficult to assess some of the areas as no previous experience with care homes. Generally pleased with the care Dad is receiving. The staff and management are always friendly. If finances allowed the facilities could do with some refurbishment and decorating.

However I must say I am very impressed with the high standard of food provided for the residents I see when visiting my wife. I continue to be happy with the care and attention my rice receives from all the staff at Harbledown Lodge Nursing Home and it would be appreciated if you could pass my thanks onto them.

I am a registered nurse and manager, having joined this company in March 2008. My career started as a senior care assistant, and from there, I built up my career. I have completed my management course and also done the exams to achieve my NMC pin as a registered nurse in the UK. My personal experience in caring helped me to care for others, understand their needs and provide support, and make personal connections with families, which makes a positive impact to improve the care. My managerial experience helped me to take on challenges and get opportunities to learn and grow.

I qualified and enrolled as a registered nurse in 1991 in India. Later, on, I moved to the UK 2005 and started my career as a senior carer in a learning disability care home. Then, I moved to Harbledown Lodge as a senior carer. I enrolled as a registered nurse in the UK in 2011 and started as a deputy manager at Haydon Mayer care home. I was runner-up for the Kent Nurse Award in 2017, mainly for making a change in people's lives by enabling them to recover and regain their strength for those who were admitted to assessment beds. In between, I nurtured my clinical experience in stroke care and trained on critically ill patients while working at the stroke units at Kent and Canterbury hospitals.

I am qualified as Head Chef at the Harbledown Nursing Home, where I have proudly worked since 2018. This job marks the first in my experience in the care sector, where previously I worked at a hotel as a chef for 20 years. I take great pride in making nutritious meals tailored to each dietary needs of the elderly residents, ensuring that they all enjoy their food. My passion for cooking is matched by my commitment to delivering high standards of care through food.
