Couldn't be more happier as a family with the care provided to my Dad. We moved Dad to Harbledown after poor care from another service. Care provided here far surpasses any care Dad has had in previous years. Thank you.

My mother's needs are provided for when I inform staff of issues and concerns. Daily support to get washed and dress fluctuate depending on which staff are present or available. My mother is generally happy living at Harbledown but I need to be vigilant and proactive to ensure her care is kept at a good level.
Many staff are helpful, attentive but often overstretched in providing care to residents.

Activities are interesting and there is a good range of indoor pursuits made available on weekdays.

Overall, the resident seems happy and settled. Carers are excellent and very kind and know her needs. It's a shame that some of our favourite carers and managers have left, we felt confident with them. We sometimes feel the carers need more help and more staff as they can be busy with a resident in their room and so we can't always find a carer if we needed one urgently/soon. They work very hard and are dedicated - thank you! Food is adequate but can be cold when Mum gets it. Sometimes, it doesn't look very appetising, but we understand the cooks do as best as they can. Mum walks 'a lot' and we're sometimes concerned she may fall. We are glad that Mum is being cared for here.

A very well run residential home with excellent staff who are very helpful and cheerful. The home is always clean and there are good facilities to make use of. The dining area in first class and the food provided is good. My uncle is always cheerful and well looked after. The nursing/doctor care is always professional and well organised when needed.

I am very happy with the care Mum receives. She is happy at Harbledown and is regularly seen by her doctor. I am informed whenever Mum is unwell and am able to visit her daily. I feel sure that Mum's safe in the home and she has opportunities to take part in various activities during the day as far as she is able. I feel the staff support me as much as my mum.

My husband has been in this nursing home since March 2015, The staff have always been very friendly. When he is ill the nursing staff have been good and always informed me of the situation and my family. They have adjusted to his different needs and always kept a close eye on his symptoms. My Mother has been in this nursing home for a short while, if the care and nursing continue as at present I would review and upgrade to extremely likely. There are ongoing improvements to the home which can only enhance the care for the residents.

When I visited my uncle in June 2016, he was in very good spirits, laughing and joking with us all - he also seemed really comfortable and relaxed despite his dementia. The staff were very friendly and relaxed but they were also totally professional. I was so happy to see my uncle in such a kind and professionally run place. The atmosphere was open, friendly and have no hesitation in recommending Harbledown Lodge to anyone who is seeking a first class care home for any member of their own family.

From what I have seen the care home is a pleasant environment. Given that it is a care home the residents seem to be as comfortable as they can be. Staff are pleasant and seem to make every attempt to involve the residents.

Generally I am very happy that my mother has found a place she can be looked after with dignity.

Sreeja SaimonJob Title:Registered ManagerJoined: 2008

I am a registered nurse and manager, having joined this company in March 2008. My career started as a senior care assistant, and from there, I built up my career. I have completed my management course and also done the exams to achieve my NMC pin as a registered nurse in the UK. My personal experience in caring helped me to care for others, understand their needs and provide support, and make personal connections with families, which makes a positive impact to improve the care. My managerial experience helped me to take on challenges and get opportunities to learn and grow.

I qualified and enrolled as a registered nurse in 1991 in India. Later, on, I moved to the UK 2005 and started my career as a senior carer in a learning disability care home. Then, I moved to Harbledown Lodge as a senior carer. I enrolled as a registered nurse in the UK in 2011 and started as a deputy manager at Haydon Mayer care home. I was runner-up for the Kent Nurse Award in 2017, mainly for making a change in people's lives by enabling them to recover and regain their strength for those who were admitted to assessment beds. In between, I nurtured my clinical experience in stroke care and trained on critically ill patients while working at the stroke units at Kent and Canterbury hospitals.
