My husband's daughter and I cannot fault the care, compassion and empathy shown for him and us, by all of the staff.
They took the time to find out who he was before dementia took hold of him.
It was home from home and whilst he could not communicate fully, his eyes told us he felt safe.
His last hours were filled with peace and comfort.

Thank you Fairways Residential Home.

Fairways is a close neighbour of ours and we knew it had a good reputation in the area. My mother-in-law came to live with us at the start of Covid. When things started to get back to "normal", mum stayed at Fairways for respite which allowed us to travel for work. It was clear from the start she was well cared for and she enjoyed the company of both residents and staff and eventually went into Fairways full time. Being so close we visited Mum daily and never had any problems doing so. Fairways gave Mum, in her final days, the utmost care and access to doctors we could not have achieved at home and we'll be forever grateful to the manager, assistant manager, and their wonderful team.

Moving Mum from Sussex to Fairways Residential Home, to be closer to me, was the best decision I could have made. The care that Mum received there was excellent. I cannot praise highly enough the kindness, patience and care always given to Mum, despite some occasional challenges she gave the staff. To be able to sit and enjoy the garden with Mum and trips to the seafront were very precious. Nothing was ever too much trouble and the staff showed as much compassion to me as they did to Mum at the end of her life. I can highly recommend Fairways Residential Home as a perfect home for a loved one who needs care.

My mother received excellent and compassionate care at Fairways especially in the last few months of her life. All the staff took wonderful care of her, two specifically who do a very difficult job with humour and kindness. I will always be grateful that I could count on them all to look after her as if she were their own mother. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fairways to anyone considering residential care.

I wish to comment on my experience with Fairways Residential Home.
My brother was admitted there, very poorly and depressed and only given a short prognosis of life, however, after a few weeks he made a remarkable recovery, and the kindness shown to him by all the staff was beyond the call of duty; they really brightened up his life and made his final months there more than just bearable. The home was always clean and tidy as he was too. Throughout the difficult times of Covid 19, they were always cheery and helpful not only to him but also to me, allowing me to see him, and to spend his last final hours with me - the one he was closest to.

Thank you, Fairways, I would certainly recommend your services to anyone.

My dad was a resident here for over a year, and we were very happy with the care they provided, very homely. I always found the staff lovely, caring and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Very happy memories of dad's time spent there. Especially his singing and dancing.

I would recommend this care home to anyone looking for a family member or friend in need of care. The staff are very conscientious and caring and look after all the needs of the residents. They have a very good menu every day to suit everyone in their care and the food is of a very good standard. They also have a good variety of entertainment for the residents most days. I wouldn’t hesitate to go into this home as a resident myself if need be. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for the way in which they looked after my dad while he was a resident.

I have nothing but praise for the staff at Fairways for the way they welcomed and cared for Mum during a very difficult time. She received the very best care during her last weeks of life and we were able to be with her until the end of her life. My only regret is that she didn't become a resident earlier to enjoy the home before the pandemic.

Rooms with ensuite facilities are excellent. Safety and security are excellent.
All the staff unfailingly kind, helpful, courteous and caring. The kitchen staff made valiant efforts to cope with my diet because of my food allergies and deserve praise.

I would feel happy to come back to Fairways if needed if I could have an ensuite room.

In 2018, We were faced with having to put my beloved Grandad into residential care. We looked at many care homes where I live and so did my Mum but none of them were suitable, they just didn’t have the right ‘feel’ about them. That is until we walked into Fairways. We turned up without an appointment and saw the owner outside, he instantly invited us in to have a look around and wow, we were blown away. The place isn’t clinical and it hasn’t been decorated by an interior designer, but what it has got is a happy, caring feel about it. It was the first care home that we visited that felt so full of life. The residents seemed so relaxed and the carers seemed genuinely happy in their work. Anyway, about a week later, Grandad moved in. He was so happy and contented there and the carers became like family. We were always kept up to date and well informed about him. Grandad lived at Fairways for nearly 2 years, until he passed aged 94. Best decision we ever made.

My great-aunt lives here and we couldn't be happier. The team at Fairways are so good to her and she is happier than we have seen in a long time. I know she is very happy to have moved here so we would definitely recommend it for others.

Fairways staff treated Mum with dignity and respect. They always conveyed details regarding Mum's wellbeing when I visited her on a regular basis. They always found time for her. Albeit Mum had very complex needs, the staff, together with health professionals were always very helpful. As Mum's Parkinsons progressed it left her with very little mobility, but this was not made a constraint, she was always included during entertainment and given choices at mealtimes. The garden and setting is ideal for long-term care and respite, the gardens are lovely for able residents.wheelchairs. Mum was a resident for eighteen months and when she sadly passed the staff were respectful and a wonderful support. I am very thankful to them.

My father was a resident at Fairways for 6 months before he sadly passed away. The care he received whilst he was there was excellent and the support we had from the staff was invaluable. The staff treated him with dignity and respect, however, it never felt like an overly formal environment and the home was a warm, welcoming and friendly place which enabled him to feel comfortable there. The meals there were of a really good standard and they catered for any dislikes etc.

We can not thank all the staff enough for their support in my father's final few weeks and based on our experience would not hesitate to recommend this home.

My mother was resident at Fairways, Madeira Road, Littlestone for over two years. During this time, I visited my mother most weeks. I, along with my wife and brother were always greeted by the staff and we got to know them on a personal level. They were all very caring and I have no doubt my mother was well looked after whilst in their care. I was regularly informed of any mishaps and illnesses my mother had in a prompt manner, and I can only confirm that I had every confidence in their ability to care for my mum, who appeared to be very happy being resident at the home, and often remarked that she was happy there.

My mother was looked after well up and until she died. The carers have done a fantastic job making the care home as much like a home as you could. We were always kept up to date when anything happened to my mother (e.g. falling).

It was a difficult transition for Mum after being fully independent at home but never the less a decision which had to be made by her family, following a series of falls. Once Mum realised that she still had some independence, e.g. eating in her room, she settled in really well. She enjoyed the plain, traditional home cooked food and the snacks in between which were to her liking. We found the care to be second to none. She had regular carers who built positive relationships with her and who in time learned to understand her as a person and her needs.

Mum liked to spend as much time in her room as possible but she was given positive encouragement to join in with the activities and entertainment when it was something she liked. It was lovely to see her interacting with others and being a part of the Fairways family. As a family, it saddened us and Mum when it was time for her to leave Fairways as her health deteriorated and she needed nursing care. Thank you to everyone at Fairways.

With reluctance after 3 years of looking after my wife who had dementia, the time came for her to have 24-hour care. Fairways, from the beginning, put me and my wife at ease. Nothing was too much trouble and I soon realised she was safe, happy and secure. The change in her was amazing. She began eating properly again and loved the singing and dancing. Unfortunately, she now needs nursing care so has had to go somewhere else. I can't thank Fairways enough for everything they did.

On entering Fairways, my mum was very frail and suffering from dementia. All our concerns about her entering a care home were eased within the first week. The professionalism and care shown was brilliant. I can’t thank them enough for reigniting my mother’s personality and helping her to eat properly again. They gave us the chance to create some happy memories. As I live in another county, I was encouraged to contact them at any time. It was so lovely to see her dancing and singing and having fun, whilst in a safe environment. Everyone at Fairways have been compassionate and kind to mum and my dad. Unfortunately now mum needs nursing care so has had to move homes . I can’t thank Fairways enough for what they did for mum and I would recommend this lovely place to anyone

We used Fairways Residential Home for respite care for my mother on three occasions this year. Each time, the staff made her feel most welcome and the level of care she received was excellent. It gave me great peace of mind to have found a care home that was perfect for her whilst myself and my husband took much-needed time off from caring for her. She really enjoyed her time at Fairways Residential Home.

My mum was very happy at Fairways and that made me happy. The staff - you couldn't wish for better, always helpful and caring. I wish my mum could have ended her days here. Unfortunately, due to a stroke and needing more nursing care, we had to move her to a nursing home. I couldn't recommend Fairways higher.
